T-day game time changed to 11:30 a.m.

Georgia Tech’s T-day game will start at 11:30 a.m. at Bobby Dodd Stadium on Saturday. The game was originally supposed to begin at 12:30 p.m., but concerns about the weather prompted the change.

The fan festivities will start at 11 a.m. as originally scheduled.

There’s a 50-percent chance of rain at noon on Saturday, increasing to 60 percent by 2 p.m., according to the the website weather.com.

The T-day game is an intra-squad scrimmage traditionally held as the finale to the spring practice schedule.

Me and my homies ain’t going to no T Day game. Might be 500 fans there and zero hot women. Why would anyone waist time on this non event. Call me when Tech wins a bowl game, if they ever do.

Will the Dogs (I refuse to spell it like an inbred Athens mutt) even have enough players to play this year? Seems like everyone is either in jail, arrested, or kicked off the team.

Even thugU (Miami) is staying out of trouble less than the Dogs. I can’t imagine being the laughing stock of the SEC and the entire NCAA. It’s times like these that I am happy to be a Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets fan!

That’s funny, I’ve yet to meet a UGA student/fan that would even know what to do with those “beautiful coeds” without alcohol being involved. Besides, 90% of those coeds have the athens beer gut by senior year. UGA blows, it’s not half the school/football program you think it is.The sooner you renob’s realize it… the better

Reminds me of the time last year when a prospective ticker purchaser called the Tech offrce to find out what time that week’s game started. “What time can you be here?” was the reply.

Glad you Georgia fans have Tech on your mind. Maybe yall should come out the scrimmage? That way you could see the goods in person instead of snooping around the blogs. Of course, that means you’d also have to heckle in person – which takes a spine. See ya in November?

This is great. You’re aware Tech is a safer campus than a lot of big football schools, right? Check the crime stats on Ohio State, for example. Atlanta as a city is ranked well behind Columbus Ohio in terms of dangerous places to live. And the Tech campus is far safer than the city at large. It’s par for the course, but has the AJC reporting every stinkin’ incident to make it look like a big story.

Also a pocket-sized picture of a Florida Gator football helmet to scare away any UGA football players trying to attack you or their own girlfriends – perfect on campus or off!

And don’t wait because we’ll throw in a free pair of rose colored glasses so you won’t have to look realistically at all the things going well for Georgia Tech, Alabama, Florida, Auburn, South Carolina, etc right now. Now you can take a whole new comfort for what BLIND faith really means!

All trashtalking aside…does any Tech fan see it as realistic Barnhardt’s SEC expansion theory that Tech might come back to the SEC with FSU,Clem and Miami? What is the mood of Tech fans on that?.

Only reason UGAG coeds are safe is because all the men in Athens are in jail or gay. Why shouldn’t they feel safe?

I think most Tech fans would like to be back in the SEC. Some argue that the conference’s academics wouldn’t match like those of the ACC, but I still have no idea why that matters for sports (other than scholarship requirements). I think Tech should not hesitate if offered.

April 23rd, 2010

Since Vince Dooley vetoed Tech’s reentrance into the SEC back in the 70’s, I doubt that anybody in Athens would want it now either. That would end up stealing what little limelight they still have.

Wow, supersize, you obviously havent been to downtown Athens in a while. All of those “gay” guys are hanging on to some very good looking women. I guess thats just to fake out you Tech fans. And very few students end up in jail because they can all just walk home when the partying is done. I wouldnt try that near the Tech campus unless you have a death wish.

I’d be really excited to renew the rivalry with Bama, for one. We’re still in their fight song. And Auburn’s been disappointed the last 3 or so times we’ve played them. Tennessee needs yet another rival, too, right? We could renew that one. They stole the Wreck back in the day.

MyWhiskeyClear

Slobber,

We party plenty and we walk home every time…we just do it in GROUPS. We can’t help the idiotic loners that walk back alone…they aren’t helping themselves at all.

I like dish it out to you Tech fans.(and I can take it as well).but the bottom line is you belong in the SEC and if you came back it would be great news for your football team and bad news for UGA recruiting. Some guys just want to live in the big city and tech would be the only team where they could do that (I dont include Vandy). It could be a great advantage.

Slobber, actually, I haven’t been to Athens in probably 10 years. My comment was meant as a dig, just like your response was. I have walked all over and around the Tech campus many times with no reservations at all. I just don’t do it past about 10PM. But you can go to any relatively large metropolitan area in the country and encounter the same problems.

MyWhiskeyClear

Also, there are SO many campus services to ride back in taxi’s, shuttles, and other means that to walk alone is to prove your idiocy…i won’t say they’re asking for trouble, but being in any city it would be stupid to do such a thing. Those are the kids that are targeted. It’s mostly off-campus too. On campus is heavily patrolled, well-lit, and there are a lot of people up late…it’s safest to party on campus (Greek neighborhood, for example, and walk back to the apartment/dorm with friends).

I wasn’t much in favor of joining the ACC to begin with, because other than Clemson, Tech had no natural rivals there. FSU’s joining helped, but still Tech’s traditional rivals all are in the SEC, and it would be great to play them all again on a regular basis. I could not do anything but GOOD for Tech.

MyWhiskeyClear

Slobber, big of you to say that we belong in the SEC. I think a lot of older fans would agree. Some of the younger generation actually seems to preach a rising of the ACC as the best way to lift Tech’s respect. They go the route of academic superiority and all that. I, on the other hand, like history and tradition. You put Tech back in the SEC, and all of the sudden we could pick up where we left off…grow the fan base, put all the traditions back in the right context, and elevate the respect for the whole State of Georgia.

What the younger fans don’t realize is that back when Tech was in the SEC, Grant Field was the largest stadium in the southeast, outside of Miami and New Orleans. Tech had more wins, more fans, and lots more money than did UGAG.

Picture a Tech schedule like this

Tech vs. Alabama
Tech vs, Tennessee
Tech vs. Florida
Tech vs. Auburn

every year..just like the old days

with an SEC schedule, Tech’s attendance problems would be over. stadium expansion would be needed.Never again would there be a Thursday night game unless it was at Miss. State.
