The gagger fans filed out of Foley so fast that the exit breeze generated kept a few of the GT fly balls in the park. Otherwise the score could have exceeded 30.

3 Wesleyan HS kids in the game last night – Tony Plagman, Connor Winn for GT, Kevin Ruiz for UGA. Quite a production of college baseball talent by Class A school. Keep up the good work Coach Shaheen.

Hey KSU, you also lost to Tech 8-2. You lost to GA State and GA Southern. You’ve got a good team, but let’s not act like you’ve owned the state this year. Tech meanwhile is 8-1 against in-state foes.

Yeah…GT beat UGA in baseball…yawn….yeah that’s….horrible (roll eyes here)…..I’d say Tech will probably thump our badmitten team too. Almost brings me to tears (sniffle, sniffle). Anyway, moving on to what REALLY matters….great article on ESPN about Washaun Ealey and UGA’s OL going into next season. With all 5 starters returning on the line and Ealey and King back (not to mention the emergence of Carlton Thomas at RB)…shoot man, the Dawgs will probably hang about 400 yards rushing on that pathetic Tech D this season. Falls just around the corner….go Dawgs!

It was a nice win, but a victory over a lower-tier SEC team doesn’t count for much in the over-all scheme of things. Let’s not get too excited, and let’s hope that Virginia series was the last we lose this season.

19-run difference is Tech’s largest margin of victory since 1998, when the Jackets won 21-4.

This stat is stupid. Largest since 1998…whennn it was less. Is there a margin larger than 19 they can reference? If so, they need to go back a little further in history for the fun fact to make it more interesting. If not, it’s the largest margin in history for Tech, which is a little more impressive than a irrelevant comparison to 12 years ago. They forgot that it’s also Tech’s largest margin of victory since the last time they won. Amazing stuff. Way to again, AJC. I’ll spend the rest of my day working on getting that IQ point back.

“19-run difference is Tech’s largest margin of victory since 1998, when the Jackets won 21-4.”

Given that 21-4 =17 and that 19 is greater than 17, the above statement is incorrect.

According to http://ramblinwreck.cstv.com/sports/m-basebl/recaps/041510aaa.html, this was in fact, the Tech baseball team’s largest margin of victory over the cesspool, ever.

Several weeks ago, after the mutts got pounded by FURMAN !!!, some delusional mutt posted here that mid-week games were throw-away games. I guess last night was another throw-away game, except the Jackets did all the real throwing (pitching) and a helluva lot of hitting too. Worst pounding in 112 years, but suddenly for the delusional mutts, baseball is like badmitton—-GIVE ME A BREAK !!!. Like somebody else said earlier, it’s funny how the only games that matter to them are the ones they win, and then it’s like they’re the king of the world or something. I thought it was only mutt football that was on a steady decline; it looks like, aside from a few random individual wins, that every sport in Athens is on the decline now. All those fans, and all that money, and UGAG athletics is sinking faster than the Titanic. GO JACKETS !!!! THWG !!!

Let’s talk about golf too while we’re at it. I was at the Masters last week, and I don’t believe I saw a single mutt in the field. But there were 4 (count ‘em FOUR) former Jackets playing. Of those 4, 3 of them have won major tournaments, and the 4th (Kuchar) was US Amateur champion while he was still at Tech. And let’s not forget that Bobby Jones, who started the Masters Tournament, was a Tech grad too. Maybe there were some mutts caddying; that’s about as good as it gets for them……THWG

Scott W., I think you need to look at the Tech record versus UGAG in basketball. The Jackets only started losing to the mutts under Hewitt, and except for 2 games only when playing in Athens. Tech’s winning record over the mutts in basketball is something that the mutts will never overcome….NEVER !!!!

Tech Forever, I may have misunderstood what you typed. If instead of pitching they had let Tech use a tee, then the score sure wouldn’t have been closer, since Tech was hitting them no matter where they were in relation to the plate.

With their new found confidence in Tech athletics, I hear that Tech’s World of Warcraft team is now challanging UGA’s WOW to a battle. One of them was quoted as saying, I will certainly slay those evil Dawgs with my +5 Mighty Sword of Venomous Stinging Doom!!! Uh…there’s just one problem….nobody at UGA know’s how to play WOW…..LOL! Give me a break…..Tech fans are just jumping all over this because they are trying to find anything they can to make them feel good about their loss to UGA in football. Any of you would trade a loss in every single sport to UGA if your football could just beat UGA’s….admit it. You will never consistently be on the same level as UGA. And you better look over your shoulder….Georgia State will be creeping up on you before long…GT might be relegated to 3rd best in the state in a few years. Don’t that send a shiver down your spines?

Like I said on another blog, you Pugs have only fluke wins vs Tech in football and basketball to crow about in your three big men’s athletic programs. Football, headed downhill and rewarded with a trip to Shreveport. Basketball, great improvement but not even in the NIT. Baseball, well, you suck……bad. I’m glad we are your target for success, hell reminds me of something about a blind squirrel and an acorn in football and basketball. Face it, your programs are declining, but you’ll always have gymnastics, equestrian, and basketball class.
