First, would like to say it’s glad to see that Chance Veazey is in Georgia’s dugout here at Russ Chandler Stadium. For those who don’t know, he was paralyzed from the waist down in a scooter accident on campus in October.
Tech’s baseball team raised money to help with medical expenses at a football game this season.
Second, it’s a beautiful night at the ballyard.
We’ve got two teams having much different seasons. The Yellow Jackets are 13-1 this season, while the Bulldogs are 8-8. Georgia’s projected infield has yet to start a game together. Subsequently, the starting pitching hasn’t been as strong.
The Yellow Jackets haven’t had many issues. The starting pitching has been strong and some questions marks coming into the season on offense are tagging the ball.
Now, onto the lineups.
For Georgia
12 CF Zach Cone .381
2 LF Johnathan Taylor .333
16 RF Peter Verdin .299
43 1B Robert Shipman .458
26 C Christian Glisson .400
25 3B Colby May .222
10 DH Zach Taylor .250
5 2B Todd Hankins .291
3 SS Levi Hyams .167
And pitching for the Dawgs will be lefty Blake Dieterich, who is 0-1 with a 6.14 ERA
Georgia Tech
4 CF Jeff Rowland .250
9 2B Jacob Esch .392
21 1B Tony Plagman .382
3 C Cole Leonida .449
16 3B Matt Skole
32 SS Derek Dietrich .294
20 RF Chase Burnette .429
22 LF Jay Dantzler .293
10 DH Thomas Nichols .464
And pitching for the Yellow Jackes is righty Mark Pope, who 1-0 with a 0.00 ERA.
The Jackets are 13-1 and the Bulldogs are 8-8.

well even if UGA losses tonight we still get to play Tech 2 more times. And everyone who knows the game of baseball knows anyone can one on any given day.

Bruce Mac, was that a Tech win 6-5 or 5-4 as you predicted in your previous comment? Plus how many UGA baseball games have you gone to, to even know how well they are coached. Did you even play baseball past the little league level? I played for Coach Perno when he was an assistant he is a great coach.

I have seen the Dawgs twice and they play like they are poorly coached. It might be the players but my High School team played better fundamental baseball. Maybe they will come around, I am not encouraged.

uga football will have a few more NC within the next 7 years..1 is coming very soon…tech is no where near winning a NC in football. they have a better chance of winning one in baseball than they do in football. at least they will have div 1a players on there team. tech football team will be loaded with div 1aa players the next 7 years…techs football program is a joke

Guess what puppies? Using your logic,Tech owns you in baseball. There are more sports than just football. Tech football(BCS bowl), Basketball(NCAAA tournament), and baseball(#6) are all suoerior to UGA.

Who cares about sports? Where does UGA stand in the grand scheme of things when it comes to what really matters in world? Those geeks from Tech have contributed far more to the real world. Now all you Dawg baseball players go back to Athens and after you’ve downed your six pack for the night, you better go read your copies of Fun with Dick and Jane so you can pass those really hard mid-terms they give to the UGA athletes.

OMG, did not anyone tell these people this is not allowed:
EUGENE, Ore. (AP)—Ernie Kent, the winningest coach in Oregon history, was dismissed Tuesday after 13 seasons with his alma mater.
“You may find a better basketball coach, but I don’t think you’ll find anybody that has the passion and love that I have for this university,” said Kent, who had to pause for several moments to fight back his emotions.
Oregon went 16-16 overall and 7-11 in the Pac-10 this past season, finishing with a 90-74 quarterfinal loss to California in the conference tournament.

Dylan,
if head to head determines who the better team is, then fine. just be consistent with that logic. In 08, Ole Miss beat Fla’. So was Ole Miss the better team? This year, 2 win Maryland beat 9 win Clemson. Were the Terps the better team? Was Northwestern better than top 10 Iowa since they beat them head to head? Was 5 win NC State better than nationally ranked Pitt since they beat them head to head? Course not. Head to head doesn’t always determine who the better team is. For 1 Saturday in Nov, uga was the better team. Over the entire season, Tech was clearly better. I would hope you would agree with that. I know Richt would. After beating Tech, Richt or whoever does his coaches vote, still had Tech ranked while keeping his own team unranked. He knwos the deal. Just sayin’.

What I’d like to know is how UGA finds themselves at 8-9 this early in the season and SEC play hasn’t even started. Elite baseball programs may take a dip every now and then but 8-9 is pathetic. Even the little school up in North Cobb beat the ever living crap out of UGA 11-1. Perno may have young players but he is suppose to be getting cream of the crop talent from the state (assuming GT doesn’t want them). 8-9. Losers.

No, 1952 was the date Fun with Dick and Jane was published and since UGA doesn’t spend any money on materials to educate their athletes to go out into the real world, I just assumed that’s what they gave them to read. They need all their money for their sports programs rather than education.
