I figured I’d share some of the stories that the fine journalists in Iowa are producing about the Hawkeyes as they prepare to face your Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets in the Orange Bowl on Jan. 5.
It appears QB Ricky Stanzi’s ankle is good to go: http://bit.ly/5PhRYk
Like Georgia Tech, Iowa has a few players who have to decide if they want to leave school for the NFL: http://bit.ly/6JBqVT
Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz wants his team to focus on Miami: http://bit.ly/6iCUTg
——-
Tech coach Paul Johnson said he was pleased with the team’s practice on Thursday, which moved to the morning after three days of afternoon practices.

No leather helmets when you won your 1/2 NC. You’re right about that. Is it true that in their entire history GT has 0 AP concensus NCs?

No thanks $1.4 million Shreveport vs. our $14 million BCS Orange bowl. That ring has no value now that it’s relevance is gone. 30-24 took care of that. Sorry you’re stuck with it. At least you were able to throw your brand new GT hat out the window of your car after 30-24.

More lies from buLLdawg: The Weedeater bowl is sold out. Wrong, UGA has sold 6000 tickets & a total of 25000 for the bowl. Also, buLLdawg, Vince Dooley QUIT & he was an average coach without Herschel (Sybil) Walker & the remedial studies program. So get your facts straight you inbred leg humper.

Charley Ward, you never told me what BBW stood for…. I’ve never, EVEN seen a blow up doll in person. I’m guessing that BBW has something to do with them….you being the expert….kindly share with the rest of us that aren’t in need of such things; what does BBW stand for?
Jackette86, kind of late on the convo…..read above and catch up….thanks for the Merry Christmas, though.
Rusted Wreck, doesn’t hurt as bad as you’d like……we’re okay…..haven’t you heard; we’re going to the Orange Bowl! Coming from a fanbase that LIVED to live through lsu……your words are hollow…..enjoy shreveport!

I would have thought that all real GT fans would be flocking to the Orange Bowl to see Chan’s boys for the last time in a GT uniform. When Dwyer, Morgan, Thomas, and Burnett look up into the cavernous, empty Orange Bowl they will know for sure they are making the right decision to start their NFL careers early. Best GT team in almost 30 years and they get 0 support from a sorry sorry fan base.

Sad. Tool fans can’t talk about actually being good enough to beat us, they have to cling to the coattails of teams that actually did defeat us. Very pathetic, but expected

GT hasn’t won a genuine national title since the 1920’s. Michigan St. won it in 1952 and Colorado earned it in 1990 by playing a CHAMPION’S schedule against FOUR conference champions, something Yech knows nothing about only playing in the pitifully weak ACC.

If Johnson loses to UGA again next year in Athens, I don’t expect for him to be around past the 2012 season. Say what you want about the ACC, but we all know defeating the Dawgs is our bar for measuring success.

Tech fans should feel right at home in the slums of Miami. Since their female students are accustomed to being harassed by the homeless and cokeheads walking around campus and the dorky little boys are used to having their lunch money stolen on a daily basis. Miami will feel just like home

Ok, so, Tech was ranked 7th in the nation, fully healthy, playing at home, two weeks to prepare, while UGA was coming off a humiliating loss to UK, on the road and without their best player and still managed to win?
How does that happen?

Wow, it’s bad enough that they feel the need to lure fans into their glorified high school stadium with free cokes, hotdogs and Playboys, but what’s the excuse for the Orange Bowl? Don’t you want to witness first hand the last game that Chan’s studs play in? Without them next year it’s going to be a loooooooooooooooooong season. Better enjoy it while you can.
