Morgan, Thomas named All-Americans

Derrick Morgan and Demaryius Thomas were named to the Associated Press All-America teams on Tuesday.

Morgan, a defensive end who had 12 1/2 sacks this season, made the first-team.

Thomas, a wide receiver who had 46 receptions for 1,154 yards and eight touchdowns, made the third-team.

Both are juniors and are considering leaving school early for the NFL, though neither has said they have made up their minds.

Congratulations guys!… Btw it is so cute to see the pups so proud of their mouse trap game. In fact without that we might not have been properly grounded to beat a real team like Clemson.

Congratulation to both Derrick Morgan and Demaryuis Thomas on their All American Awards. They both deserve it. The Orange Bowl will probably be the last game for Derrick Morgan as he goes to the NFL.

Yeah, I think Dwyer was a little more solid than Rogers and a freshman from OrSU. It’s interesting that we can use “I produced an all-American DE and WR” when recruiting now. It’s even more interesting since our strength is supposed to be our high school rushing game.

CC, has anyone argued those facts with you, or do you just like stating them on a blog that has nothing to do with that?

bull dykes are the best!

I love being 7-5 while Tech is 11-2 and going to the BCS. I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Congrats to Derrick and Bay-Bay! Bay-Bay said he’s gonna stay. Derrick – if you want a national championship ring – stay and pursue one in 2010! PLEASE!

I was not aware that beating Tech now made the Muttlanders’ season. My how the tables have turned…;)

I’m as big a Tech fan as you can find but its time to admit we just have to bow to the superiority of Georgia. They dominate us. We shouldn’t even consider ourselves their rival. We should only hope to bask in their radiance and pick up their sloppy seconds in recruiting so that we can dominate the ACC.

How funny is it that uga had ONE player make the All-American list…..the PUNTER!!! Hell, you’d think he’d be good after all the practice he got in games!!!

I’m as big a Bulldawg fan as you can find, but it is time to admit we just have to bow to Tech’s superiority. They dominate us in every sport. We should just accept the fact that we are bottom feeders in the SEC, one of the worst conferences and admit that Tech will contend for the National Championship every year and the basketball program is on the rise while we continue to look like a high school team.

How did Morgan win this when he spent the majority of his time on his back against UGA while Ealey and King ran over him?

I want to congratulate Demaryius Thomas and Derrick Morgan for the great year they had in football at GT. It takes a lot of hard work and dedication to reach such stellar goals. Hopefully, GT will take care of business in the Orange Bowl and represent the state of Ga. well. Looking forward to seeing you guys in Athens next year.
