Burnett undecided about his future

Safety Morgan Burnett said on Thursday that he hasn’t decided if he will leave Georgia Tech  early for the NFL.

A junior from College Park, Burnett has 77 tackles and four interceptions this season. Last season, he tied for the national lead with seven interceptions. It was the most by a Tech player since 1991.

Burnett said he will sit down with his family after the Orange Bowl on Jan. 5 and then they will decide what to do. He’s rated as the second-best safety by Mel Kiper, a draft analyst.

I think it would be great for Morgan Burnett and the rest of the juniors to return for their senior season. However, the only player who probably will move on is Derrick Morgan. Can’t really see him staying since he should be a first round selection. However, we will just have to wait and see what happens after the BCS ORANGE BOWL!! Go Jackets!!

I hope they all come back, what a team with some of the guys that were hurt back, a couple of the redshirts, and one or two of the freshmen. But I can’t blame anyone for making the move if they are convinced that it is the best chance they have. I wish the best for all of them, regardless of where they play next year. They sure gave us a great 2009.

@Cuttysark: You’re absolutely right. Bay-Bay has said he’s gonna stay. I think Morgan is gone. His stock is too high right now and he probably “should” go (God bless him). We need to have leadership in the secondary and we need Burnett to stay. If we can keep him and Dwyer, we might have an outside shot at a national title run next year (fingers crossed). I know it’s pie-in-the-sky thinking, but even with the optimism surrounding CP”Goferit”J’s arrival, I never really thought we’d have an ACC crown in just the 2nd year…so, with this coach, anything is possible :) . STAY MORGAN, STAY!

Pat – This year, it’s not just going if you are going to be a first rounder. If you are going in the first couple of rounds you should go.
The NFLPA has been telling the players to be prepared for a lock out in 2011.

Morgan and Dwyer look like locks to be in rounds 1 or 2 to me. Morgan is better than the 3 DL’s who were drafted last year and Dwyer is significantly better than Choice.
BeBe is big and fast – and he has no problems blocking. If he “measures” well (40 time, standing leap, etc) he’s gone.
Burnett has me confused as to how good he is – then again, football is basically a team game and it’s not like he had Lester Hayes, Deion Sanders and Rod Woodson back there with him this year.

I love Josh to death – he is a warrior and he’s been our MVP this year – but he hasn’t looked like a pro-prospect QB

Agree with your post except for the last line. Granted UGA had a bad year, but they are not irrelevant, or we would be playing someone else and ranked higher. No offense, but no reason to give the Dawg trollers needless ammo.

I say go … especially if it means the Jackets offer & get this kid looking go switch from Clemson to GT. I was a little disappointed in MB’s overall play this season. I kinda got the impression beginning the VT game that he was playing “soft” so as to avoid injury & pad stats (i.e. INTs) with as many cheap ones he could.

But can I really blame MB …. he’s 20, 21 or 22 at the most and in 6 months will be making more $$ than I’ll see in my lifetime unless I win the lottery. The injury to Sam Bradford doesn’t hurt potential agents for any of these guys either. These guys [agents] will damn sure be reminding them all about Mr Bradford’s lost $$ by “returning to play his senior season”.

Disappointed? Really?

December 10th, 2009
11:07 pm

To everyone of you who were “disappointed” by Morgan Burnett’s play this year I gotta ask, are you serious? This kid, and yes they are all still kids, busted his tail this year to win the ACC title. He along with the other DB’s had to help with run support while our young D-line developed. So what if he didn’t have a ton of picks, he was the leader of the D-backfield for the ACC Champs. By the way, did he look soft coming up to fill the holes against UGA? The DB’s had to make a ton of tackles that night.

When I was at Tech I had to bust my tail in class. These kids have to bust their tails in class and on the field. They have earned everything they receive, and if they are ready for the NFL as juniors then I say God Bless and thanks for all the enjoyment they gave us these past few years!

There will be a huge number of juniors entering the NFL draft this year.

I hope Burnett, Morgan, Dwyer & Thomas all get together and decide to stay in an attempt to win a NC at GT……………….each player will improve their draft status if they stay (especially Morgan & Dwyer who will have much better stats next season) because the GT football team will be in the national spotlight all season. If they stay, there will also be less players available for the 2011 draft due to the mass exodus this year………less players to draft moves the talented players up up up.

Obviously, each player should do what is best for them; however, as a GT fan, I hope they decide to stay at GT in a unified attempt to win the whole enchilada at GT!!

Regarding GT, sooner or later they all move on. It is a big part of Johnson’s job to make sure that new ones move in.

They all should stay and make sure they are marketable outside of football. There are not a lot of GT players who go into the NFL and last for a real long time.

Reality check. Morgan Burnett is probably not a big time NFL player, just as he has made some interceptions, he has been burned a number of times too – one on one….. and you can’t blame Womack for that.

Not all these guys are going to be Keith Brooking.

They should stick around and grow up, get some maturity. Most of them outside of Derrick Morgan will not be in the NFL more that 3 years tops. Then what?

You are not ready for the NFL. Too small, and you lack the coverage skill needed to be a starter in the NFL. If anyone needs another year, you do. Please don’t listen to Kiper. If you do, it will be a one and done contract.

Get your education while you can. If you improve and grow in size, the NFL will still be there for you. However, the NFL is bigger and faster than any of the Tech Juniors except Dwyer. And I’ll tell you from experience, Dwyer has no idea what the NFL comes with every week.

Why rush it? The leauge ain’t going anywhere. Hit the weights, eat, and run your tail off – you’ll be fine. And you might have a long NFL career. Come out early, and you’ll wish you had not, trust me.

Is it posssible to have a blog without digressing to childish rock throwing between UGA/GT fans. Probably not. Back to the topic at hand: I hate to see anybody leave, but I think Morgan is definitely gone to the NFL. The others in question will probably see where they are projected in the draft. Given the uncertainty in the economy/future, anyone would be wise to take the money and run,…. run, run, run to the nearest investor and stock up in gold bullion before the dollar goes kaboom.

If any of the juniors have a chance of going pro, they should take it. Football players have a limited shelf life and they need to take advantage while they can. I personally think these players need to put their futures first before what we as fans want, but it would be great if most of them came back for their senior season. I think Morgan is gone, Dwyer is gone, and Thomas is up in the air. Morgan Burnett can play at the next level, but I don’t know if this is his time. I know some think Burnett’s season was a disappointment, but the dude is a play-maker and was probably more a victim of defensive scheme rather than his lack of performance…just my 2 cents.

Bulldawg as much as it hurts me to say, you prove ONE point, very well….. We are a team that was a Defense away from being a MNC team…… If, it had not been for the Defense, I think that CPJ would have been standing there last night as COACH of the year….. I have said all year that we are not or shouldn’t have been rated in the top 10, but YOU or I do not make these decisions. The fact that GT will play a team that matches up very well with us and gives us the chance to be preseason ranked in the top 5 or 10 is just the nature of the system……That’s of course if we beat Iowa, they are a very good team, we could very easily lose if we don’t bring our “A” game. My hope is that we can fill the defensive void with some better athletes. I am sure that Coach Wommack is perfectly capable of coaching, as long as he has the right personnel. We have NOT had the right personnel for a long time, hopefully this coaching staff can change that…. The bottom line Bulldawg, yes you beat us head to head, but WE were the better team, and we will continue to get better. UGA’s domination is OVER! Get over it!

He has better stats than Mark Ingram with no where near the supporting cast. He is a freight train! I swear, I seen him drag 5 defenders 15 yards! Dwyer is good, but he’s no better than Gerhart or Ingram or that kid from Pitt.

I still stand by the fact that JD is the better player and will prove it on the next level… JD’s supporting cast is arguably on par with what Toby has, but I will take the speed and muscle that JD has over Toby, anytime. Two running backs, one is very good,(Toby), and ONE is GREAT! IMHO..

Funny that Yech fans are desperately trying to convince themselves UGA’s domination is over, when the reality couldn’t be any more clear.

Richt just pantsed Yech in their house, with his worst UGA team ever, without his best player, against Yech’s best team that they’ve had since they leached onto Colorado’s National Title.

Gotta chime in on this one….Dwyer rushed for a whopping 32 yards against UGA. Caleb King, by the way, ran for 160+ against Yech. Washaun Ealey has over 600 yards with a 5+ ypc as a true freshman, only started about 3 games and ran for 188 against Wrech. He’ll be an AA by the end of next season. Dywer ain’t even the best RB in the state of Georgia. And as for Gerhart, the other guy is right, dude’s a locomotive. One guy can’t bring him down.

It’s funny to me, as an observer of sports, that Georgia fans are criticizing Tech’s defense. We listened to the game against Tennessee on the way to Tallahassee, and the three of us in the car were dumbstruck (not that it takes much) how easily the Vols were scoring on the Bulldogs. Twice, we actually thought we were hearing a replay of a previous score.

I think Dwyer and Morgan are gone. Burnett probably and Thomas ify at best. Remember we are getting hit like the tech hoops guys a couple years ago. they are capping rookies next year so if you have a shot you will go just for the money.

UGA fans can STFU. They suck and will get beat at home again next year.

Anyone who says Burnett disappointed does not know football very well. He had to worry about stuffing running holes and did not have to last year. And these guys who are ragging on last years linemen in the NFL you fricking suck. Johnson has produced although he is thrid int he depth chart but got to play well in the game he was the backup. Darryl Richard with the Pats practice squad, well hes got an MBA and gets to play int he NFL, not bad for anyone. And I saw the other lineman show up on the falcons roster again and saw him stuff some runs. The Falcons should have signed Michael Johnson. Abraham sucks now and is irrelevent. Remember, all these guys were not even 3 stars and they made it to the big time. Sure you got some great UGA guys like Shockly who sucked down a paycheck and never even got a chance to win a game he sucked so bad.

The NFL is a very tough place. Unless they are going to get a lot of garranteed money upon signing, they should stay for senior year. True they risk getting hurt, but they have a chance to get bigger and learn a little more; and most of all get playing time. If they go to the NFL and do not make the 2 deep, then their playing time will not be there.

Only 2 I see moving on are Morgan and Dwyer (both can improve more with pros, but limitted improvement in college). Thomas may go, but he drops too many passes…he should stay and improve and combo with Nesbitt set a bunch of records to improve his draft status. Nesbitt needs another year to improve his passing and determine where he will fit in the NFL…I see him as a backup to Vince Young. Burnett was not as impressive this year and should stick around one more year…very good player, but may be like Darryl Richard…drafted and put on practice squad.

Doug – Can you ask the AJC to put a filter in place that will allow a user to tag another user as “I don’t care to see their immature drivel any longer” and post the comment in a different color to the user. Tag it by IP number so that people that post under different usernames are still tagged. In the case of anonymous IP addresses, put those in a different color. Sure would save a bunch of time.

I think it was BuLLdawg that said the meaningless drivel was going on on both the GT and the UGA sites. I do not doubt that, but I will also say that I never frequent the UGA side. Just because there are some moron GT fans doing the same certainly doesn’t make him any more justified to do it here. It reminds me of my kids, “he did it, no he did it”. GROW UP.

Back to the real topic at hand, I think if the player is a lock to go in the first round or low second, they should go early. If they are on the bubble as to where they will go in the second round, they should stay. With respect to the GT Juniors thinking about this, I do believe they are allowed to explore in detail where they might go without declaring. Each of them should do that to get the most accurate information they can in order to make one of the biggest, personal decisions of their lives. Where do I think they end up? Morgon = gone, Dwyer = probably gone, Thomas/Burnett = probably staying.

“Pups, your team is irrelevant.” That’s the big reason why there are so many Dawg fans on Tech blogs now. They say it is payback for m, Yellow Fuzz and Saint Simons. While that might be true to an extent, they fail to realize that it was the taunts of Dawg fans for 7 years that created those fans last year. Now, they are using those Tech posters as reasons for their drivel. The truth is exactly as you stated it… they’re irrelevant! After being the #1 team in the nation prior to the 2008 season they are now completely off the radar of the national scene and headed for Shreveport. They’ve lost their DC and other coaches, their dog, and a lot of their sense of pride. No wonder they are attacking us because we ARE relevant at the same time their program is the most irrelevant in the Richt era.

What’s the good word? THWG!

Associated Press, December 11, 2009

Atlanta, GA: In a recent interview with AJC staff, Mogan Burnett indicated that while he remains undecided about his football future, he is sure about one thing…the bulldogs from UGA are indeed headed to SHREVEPORT.

“Yeah, I’m sure they didn’t enjoy seeing us all the way turned up on our Jumbotron, but getting banished to SHREVEPORT was like salt in the wound of a poor season on the field,” Burnett chuckled.

UGA Coach Mark Richt could not be reached for comment as on a recruiting trip at the Clarke County Jail.

Tech folks – you should keep encouraging their posts as well – you are a way bigger deal to them than they are to you. Their actions show they are upset with their floundering football program. The more they post, the more they acknowledge the superiority of GT football over UGA football.

The best compliment I can pay you – SEC folks want you to stay in the ACC and UGA to stay in the SEC. Why? Your football program is better than UGA and is getting stronger, while UGA is getting weaker.

It’s the truth……

Looking forward to when Paul Johnson/GT slug it out with Nick Saban/Tide down the road.

It would be great if Tech could find a way to keep stellar players in school. Tebow stayed for his senior year. I suspect the tough curriculum is a major factor; too much of a grind for some. They should take a look at Kenny Anderson who left too young to handle the millions he made & is now bankrupt. A degree from Tech is a great insurance policy and carries with it maturity to handle success and adversity. I hope they all stay, but I suspect they won’t.

The pathetic dawg posts here simply reflects their jeolousy of Tech & disgust with how low they have fallen. They rant about their win after they issued a “Code Red” to knock Nesbitt out of the game. What a combo: dirty team & trashy fans.

vols.

You Tech fans now want to talk about the vols, I see here now.

Ok.

Janzen Jackson 2 times this season was suspended for multiple games with drugs involved.

The 1st suspension was the Memphis game the 1st week of November, when Janzen Jackson failed a drug test.

The 2nd suspension was just 2 weeks later when he exclaimed to 2 felony armed robbers he was in the getaway car with with drugs and CO2 powered semi-automatic pellet gun, “We’ve got to go.”

Both times drugs were involved.

Both times drug tests were run.

“We hold our student-athletes to an extremely high standard on and off the field. Janzen has seen the effect personal decisions had on his former teammates and is excited to rejoin our team activities.”

Of course, it had nothing to do with the fact that the other 2, he didn’t say shouldn’t be robbing people at gunpoint, just that they had to go now, but those 2 vols’ football players were not doing well this their true freshman season too.

Janzen Jackson had the 2 felony armed robbery vols’ football players and the woman with the drugs for all 4 to do, get back into the Prius and go back to the athletic dorm where they all 4 were arrested on multiple charges including drugs.

Yes, indeed Lame Kitten, those are an “extremely high standard” you hold Janzen Jackson to.

Never mind the other 2 were doing very poorly and Janzen Jackson All-Freshman All-SEC selection at DB for defense that was not doing well with Lame Kitten’s father as Defensive Coordinator.

8 NCAA recruiting infractions later, now Ed Orgeron is rumored to be leaving. Ed has a checkered past himself, and Lame Kitten was at Southern California during the recruitment of Reggie Bush, part of an NCAA Investigation still on-going with a million dollar mansion provided to Reggie Bush’s family.

vols’ are ranked Number 42 in the Final BCS Rankings for 2009.

7-5 against a Strength of Schedule the NCAA says is the Number 52 SoS, 1 worse than even Georgia Tech – who played 6 games against teams not even in a bowl game.

vols beat no team ranked in the Final BCS Top 25 rankings this entire season. In fact, the

vols’ wins this season are over :

BCS Number 120 Western Kentucky.

BCS Number 62 Ohio.

BCS Number 40 South Carolina.

BCS Number 49 Kentucky.

BCS Number 29 Georgia.

BCS Number 98 Vanderbilt.

BCS Number 112 Memphis.

Did I mention the vols LOST to 7-5 Number 38 Auburn.

Did I mention the vols LOST to Number 31 Ole Miss.

Did I mention the vols’ LOST to 6-6 Number 53 UCLA.

“Extremely High Standard on and off the field” according to Lame Kitten. What about the 2 suspensions both times involving failed drug tests for Janzen Jackson ? I am supposed to forget about that ? Good try. It’s in there for the duration.

vols will BEAT Virginia Tech, who is ranked HIGHER in the Jeff SAGARIN BCS Poll than SAGARIN has Georgia Tech ranked.

BuLLdawg – your posts are clearly biased and uninformative.

BuLLdawg – we understand your motivation to make Tech look as bad as possible to fuel your incredible obsession with Tech. Your obsession is front and center on the several and frequent posts that are made on the Tech blog, not the UGA blog.

BuLLdawg – you must not have anything else going on in your life to spend an inordinate amount of time posting about things that you know very little about. Do you have a job of any kind BuLLdawg or are you just a drop out at UGA? What was your major BuLLdawg if you did go to UGA? I’m sure you won’t respond or you won’t respond with the truth.

BuLLdawg – you state: “I clicked this page on “your” ramblin wreck (on CSTV, cannot even engineer WebPages yourselves, pitiful.)” What a tool. Did you realize that the entire georgiadogs.com site, the OFFICIAL site of the UGA athletics is not even hosted or in the state of Georgia? Am I to conclude as you do, that UGA doesn’t care enough about their school or athletics to own or control their own site? I don’t, but you would!

BuLLdawg – you comment about blank pages on a website and then come to the conclusion that blank web pages are caused by sports team performances? WTF? Because you either didn’t go to college, or you went to a college and didn’t get an education (the more likely scenario if you went to UGA) you relate a cause and effect to something not even remotely related. So, you prove that you are not only biased and obsessed about Tech but that you are also an idiot. How does it feel to be exposed on a website as a complete tool?

BuLLdawg – You think that your long, very long, tedious, poorly constructed diatribes will somehow establish some sort of credibility for your incredibly biased and uninformed opinions about things that you know almost nothing about.

BuLLdawg – You mention 30-24 as a score as if that really means anything to us right now. We are the ACC Champions (not UGA), in the top 10 in national ranking (UGA is not even ranked) and looking forward to playing in a BCS bowl (UGA is going to Shreveport, which explains exactly what your team is valued at).

BuLLdawg – You spend countless hours of wasted energy posting on a website that people only casually read. The truth is most people don’t even read your posts as soon as they see your name. Why? Because your diatribes are so obviously distorted from any sense of factual information they are clearly not informative, they are also full of invective tone and language to label you simply as a flamer, and last but not least, the length of your posts dissuade anyone spending that much time even reading them!

BuLLdawg – You think that you are somehow supporting your team with your senseless rants, but I have read many Dawg posts that decry the length of your posts also. You are an embarrassment to the University of Georgia to the University of Georgia Athletic Department and to Dawg Nation. If you were not behind an anonymous blog you would have been rebuked not only by the many fans that you insult but by your own Dawg fans.

BuLLdawg – You talk about things such as drugs, arrests, and crime in a way that is completely uninformed and out of context. You also conveniently ignore these very same problems and worse from your beloved Dawgs. Although that proves that you are prejudiced beyond what is normal, even for a fan, it also proves that you are complete fool.

BuLLdawg – The real truth is that your lousy Dawg team is not even ranked.

BuLLdawg – The real truth is that your lousy Dawg team won a game that was not decided until the last 1:20 although you purport that Tech got thumped, beat down, etc. in other posts. If you want a reference for a real beat down then look at the embarrassing Dawg loss to Florida or Tennessee. And, if we really did get a beat down then Kentucky gave the Dawgs a beat down too since the margin of victory was even greater.

BuLLdawg – The real truth is that your lousy Dawg team is going to a third tire bowl in beautiful downtown Shreveport.

BuLLdawg – The real truth is that your lousy Dawg team just fired their DC and several coaches.

BuLLdawg – The real truth is that your lousy Dawg team just lost their mascot.

BuLLdawg – The real truth is that your lousy Dawg team received no boost in rankings from winning a game over a top ten team.

BuLLdawg – The real truth is that your lousy Dawg team will have a new quarterback next year to break in because your coach decided that 7-5 was an acceptable record to live with Joe Cox.

BuLLdawg – The real truth is that Tech is more relevant that UGA this year (I didn’t say prior years so please don’t waste your time with prior records and your obviously biased twist on them).

BuLLdawg – The real truth is that Tech is more relevant that UGA this year and is receiving more national attention, more recognition, more rewards, higher rankings, and more admiration than your lousy Dawg team.

BuLLdawg – The real truth is that you and most of your fellow Dawg fans on these posts are spouting 30-24 and records to deflect the current state of affairs with your lousy Dawg team.

Is that too much truth for you BuLLdawg? Nah, you can’t handle the truth BuLLdawg because you’re a tool.

JB

December 12th, 2009

BuLLdawg – You talk about Tech basketball but fail to realize what a train wreck of a program that UGA has.

BuLLdawg – You’re so stupid that you must have graduated from Jim Harrick’s College of Sports Education.

BuLLdawg – Most Dawgs are too embarrassed about their BB program to even post something. Of course, you’re not as smart as even most Dawg fans.

BuLLdawg – Which leads me back to a previous question: Did you even go to college BuLLdawg?

BuLLdawg – What was your major BuLLdawg if you did go to college?

BuLLdawg – You are a complete and utter embarrassment to yourself, to the University of Georgia, and to decent Dawg fans. You discredit your team as a result.

As a neutral observer who just vists Atlanta once in awhile for work, I am more of a Tech fan simply because their football team is more fun to watch and their quarterback does not look like a special education student. However, if you get beat almost every year by your in-state rival, that just means they may have a better football team (except for this year…the game was close and had Tech’s QB not been injured, I think the outcome would have been different). That being said, UGA fans really should not be bragging about anything. Last time I checked, you haven’t won a national championship in almost thirty years. Your football team is a joke in the SEC right now. What is even worse, your institution is a laughing stock in the rest of the country. I have noticed two things both from attending games and from working with graduates of both schools. First, the graduates of UGA are probably some of the slowest people I have ever had to work with. Second, their fans are some of the trashiest and dumbest I have ever had to sit next to. So in the end, I would not brag about being either a graduate or fan of the University of Georgia. Just let the GT fans talk about their team without you rednecks coming on here and writing comments at a third grade comprehension level. Instead, I suggest spending your time thinking positive things you can do to better your community, regardless of where that may be (Bartow, Bibb, or whatever redneck county you live in). Thank You.

Ok so I am bored sitting at the house drinking a little bit waiting til it gets late n time to head out. Anyway Im watchn the heisman thing on ESPN and is it me or is anyone else tired of seeing Tim Tebow. I have always thought that he is one of the most overated players in the history of college football. Is he a very good college player? Yes. Is he one of the all time greats and a God like ESPN makes him out to be? I say no. What has he done that so many others haven’t? He won one National Title as a starter. Yea thats right folks he didn’t start a game in 06. To put it in regional terms if God forbid UGA had won the NC this year and Caleb King had gone on to be great and win another. Would we really give King credit for the numbers he has put up this year really infuencing a NC. And he has better numbers than Tebow did. So anyway I wanted to see what the Heisman candidate has done this year against BCS competition to warrant his vote. This does not include the SEC championship because a majority of the ballots were sent in before. Soooo here we go. He has thrown for over 200 yds only twice in 9 games 208, and 221 (vs. FSU) He has thrown 10 TD’s to 4 picks.(3 TD’s against FSU no picks.) Ah but his legs are what really make him because he is such a great rusher. Wellllll he has only rushed for over 100 one time in 9 games. His average yard per rush is around 3. (He averaged 6 against FSU). Oh but it is the rushing TD’s that count for the most. Yes it must be his electric TD runs. Well he has 10 in 9 games which isn’t bad. Definatly no great. Buttttt if you take a closer look of those 10 only 3 are of more than 3 yards. I guess those QB sneaks are pretty electric. Oh and I continued to allow you to see the stats against FSU because there defense is ranked around 112 if memory serves me correct. So anyway boredom is….well boredom. All I am saying is crown him one of the greatest of all time if you want for his “wonderboy” style and Jesusness(is that a word? It is now). The numbers just ain’t there.

Good afternoon superSlow. I’m absolutely impressed that you were able to make it through an entire sentence without a shockingly dreadful error. That demonstrates real improvement superDumb! Next, you’ll be able to put together two sentences and so on. Hey, you have to start where you’re at and move up, so good work! And, after you learn how to construct sentences you can advance to learning how to make logical points and actually expressing an intelligent opinion about something. That might be a stretch for a Dawg, especially for you, so I’m not counting on that any time soon. Just keep up the good work on sentence structure, grammar and spelling and who knows, you might be able to pass 6th grade next year.

this game meant everything to tech

December 13th, 2009
9:33 am

What the GT-UGA game meant to Tech was a loss to a pitiful 7-5 team and giving desperate, and I mean absolutely desperate, UGAg flamers like you something, anything to crow about. It meant nothing other than that. And the facts are as follows:

Tech’s loss did NOT take Tech out of the top 10 in the nation. Tech’s loss did NOT prevent it from going to a BCS bowl game. Tech’s loss did NOT prevent Tech from having it’s best season in years. Tech’s loss did NOT hurt after we moved on to the ACC Championship Game and ultimately to the Orange Bowl. So, the net effect for Tech fans is that we only have to listen to ignorant rednecks count to 30-24 for those that can count that far. Other than that the Dawgs are absolutely silent because they have NOTHING else to say. bWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

The game also MADE Georgia’s season! The significance of that is rather obvious. What it means is that Georgia is COMPLETELY IRRELEVANT this year in football, not only in this state but also on the national scene. Georgia’s win did NOT catapult it into the top 25. Georgia’s win did NOT get it a better bowl game. Georgia’s win still left it with a mediocre 7-5 overall record and a miserable 4-4 record in the SEC. Georgia’s win did NOT get the team any national attention except for the dismissal of several coaches. The biggest headline in Georgia’s football season was the DEATH of their mascot. bWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Those are the facts bulldog fans, and EVERYONE in this state and the nation knows it. So, we can handle the 30-24 taunts easily because our bowl game still means something and so does our season. Contrast that with UGAg which has NOTHING to look forward to in their bowl and most Dawgs admittedly can’t wait until this horrible season is over. Believe me, Tech fans are excited and motivated about the Orange bowl and finishing in the Top 10 at the end of the season. We could care less about the losses to Miami or Georgia, because neither of those losses prevented us from being where we are right now. And we are VERY HAPPY to be where we are. The Dawgs can’t say the same thing. Again, those are the facts pups so deal with it!

Grinch,

I’m not sure how exactly admitting that UGA spoiled your near perfect season is somehow a slap to UGA fans? This was Richt’s worst team since he’s been at UGA, without his best player, and yet he still schooled St. Johnson, aka Your Savior, in your pitiful excuse of a stadium. So again, how is UGA coming out the loser here? Their miserable season was already wrapped up when the clock hit 00:00 agianst UK.

If this kid is smart he’ll bolt now. Tech is going to be absolutely pathetic next year. Dwyer, Morgan and BeBe (regardless what he says now) are gone, Burnett more than likely will be as well. He got burned too many times this year but yet has managed to remain high on the draft boards for DB’s. He doesn’t have 9 lives.

I’m one of the few that thought the Johnson hire was a bad move and would backfire in the long run. I also was one of the few to realize his quick success would be bad news for the program since the administration would be premature and extend his contract. This offense will not work in the long run. Why on earth do you think it became extinct in the first place? As evident in the UGA game, if you’re down late in the game (especially with no timeouts) this offense is a death sentence since it’s designed to milk the clock. If we can’t even beat the worst UGA team in recent memory without their best player, while at home, it doesn’t spell for good times in the future.

UNRANKED 7-5 team beat Georgia Tech at your house 30-24 when your coach gave up on his high school offense (fired Jon Tenuta and no Tech defense since) and had his “QB” (12 TD 11 interceptions in 24 games as “QB) throw 4 incompletions to end the game.

You played 6 teams not even in a bowl game.

SAGARIN ranks Virginia Tech AHEAD of Georgia Tech in SAGARIN BCS POLL.

Virginia Tech is the ONLY RANKED TEAM Tech beat all season long, and they are ranked AHEAD of Georgia Tech in the ONE POLL you recognize, SAGARIN BCS POLL.

Your APR is worse than UGA in football.

Any player that is projected 2nd round or better should go. The potential of problems in the next draft of a change in the owner/player money offers is enough to push guys that could go in early rounds to the NFL.The money isnt chicken feed even for 3rd rounders.

I know a lot of you don’t think Burnett had a great year but I totally disagree that he was a disappointment. Last year he had a great group of linemen and linebackers in front of him which allowed him to play more aggresive on the pass. This past year he had to be a more complete safety covering the run and pass, not an easy thing to do. If you look back at our games he seems to always be the guy making the saving tackle on the big plays. He’s always around the ball and that is a skill highly prized on Sunday. I hope he stays but wouldn’t fault any of these guys for leaving, they all have bright futures in the NFL.

I think BeBe and Nesbitt would be hardest to replace.
Morgan highest pick, but Tech has 3 youg player waiting at DE who are pretty good, likely that at less one will be big time player:
Cross, Cummings, Dieke,

Plus TJ Barnes will be a beast in the middle next year.

Dwyer gone can be replaced with:
Orin Smith, Richard Watson, or Daiel Drummond

BeBe Thomas – Hill not at his level, Actually I think the year Thomas had this year he will be better pro then C. Johnson. Thomas is big, can catch, is fast. He blew by UGA DB’s when they had angle on that screen pass for TD. If he played for Texas, FLA or USC, ND he would have won best receiver in the nation.
