Blog will resume soon

It’s a slow time of the year. Tech is in finals so there’s no practices this week. They will resume next week, so I’ll be back with the blog then.

In the meantime, I thought I’d open the floor to you. I’d like to know who you think the team’s offensive MVP, defensive MVP, biggest surprise were this season.

Surprise can be player, play, game, moment….anything.

a few years ago a win over gt by uga was greeted with nothing more than “that was expected”. i always found it funny how uga fans scolded gt fans for “defining” their season by centering its success over a victory against uga. but now that cpj has put this program back on the map (yes you idiots re-read that statement and accept the fact that gt has football history) i find it funny how uga seems to find its standards slipping. all of the sudden a 7-5 season isn’t so bad because you beat gt. that’s ok. everyone can see that it’s happening except the morons who post here, just another piece of proof that uga has something bigger to worry about than gt and cpj.

Next year Tech will have a new defensive coordinator and the defense will rank in the top 50 in the country. Offense will always roll. Tech will be much better next year than this year. We won the ACC without a defense, just think what it would be like if Tech had a defense. This marks 2 good years under CPJ and 2 years of the defensive talent far out weighing the total defensive performance. CPJ defensive coordinator is the head coach at navy now. He needs to find a new one.

What a surprise. A Tech blog with nothing but uga posts. And you say we’re jealous. Right

Offensive MVP: Josh Nesbitt…A true field General. Took over games when he had to, and gave our team a winning mentality. The strip against fsu will be remembered forever. It is amazing how quick he has been able to learn the offense and run it effectively since being recruited as a Pro-Style QB and playing only out of the shotgun in high school. He is going to keep getting better at it.

Defensive MVP: Derrick Morgan…If it wasn’t for him, we would never have made it to the ACC Championship game. He constantly faces double and triple teams, but has a motor that never dies. He is almost never off the field and his sack against Skinner on 3rd down at the end of the 4th quarter was the greatest defensive play made all season. Oh yeah, he was a First Team All-American.

Surprise: Scott Blair owning clemson…I never would have guessed that he could outperform his first game against clemson this season where he threw a td, and went 3-3 on field goal attempts including the game winner. But going 4-4 in the ACC Championship game, hitting 3 field goals greater than 40 yards long (48, 49, 40), was just unbelievable. Scott has been inconsistent this year (I always hold my breath when he lines up for any kick, including PATs and kickoffs), but he is as much of a reason were going to Miami as any player on that team.

bob,

I think all you Tech fans are misunderstanding the mockery from UGA fans on here. You people acted like you had won the Super Bowl last year with your whopping 3 point victory in Athens. All year long we heard how bad we were going to get beat this year, how many yards Tech would put up, etc. So for UGA to defeat you in humiliating fashion without their best player, with one of their worst teams in decades, in your backyard, with you being ranked 7th in the nation is absolutely hilarious to us. So stop confusing sarcasm with respect.

New Trojan fan – here 3 questions for you. Why do you think your team is ANY good this year? Overrated EVERY year and the coach is a crybaby just like there fans. 2, How much money did you guys pay to the NCAA not to shut you down for paying your players? I mean you have been busted 3 times in 2 years for outright paying players. 3, the most talented team does not mean a thing. Football should be decided on the field. If you had played Auburn you would not have a single National Championship. Do you care about playing by the rules and who actually earns the right to be called a champion? or is this just a popularity contest with you guys? Either way, I will be against you until the NCAA shuts you down. You should get the death penalty, loss of football and basketball programs for 4 years. Talk to me then about claiming titles . . .

too f’n funny,
You are a hypocrite, both Florida and LSU have won national championships this decade with two losses, yet you’re complaining?

Also SEC fans,
Where are your signature wins against out of conference opponents this year? UGA over Tech, maybe? Alabama over VT? South Carolina over Clemson? All of those wins are against the conference you put down every chance you get.
Florida’s best win was over Florida State.
Tennessee lost to UCLA (6-6 Pac Ten team) but did manage a win over Ohio.
Georgia beat Tech, but lost to Oklahoma State and slipped by a terrible Arizona State team at home.
Kentucky managed a 4 point win over 4-8 Louisville
We won’t even touch Vandy.
Ole Miss played their toughest out of conference against UAB
Arkansas beat Texas A&M…wow!
Mississippi State’s best out of conference win was Middle Tennessee State.
LSU beat a 5-7 Washington team.
And that brings us to the one legit out of conference win (non ACC), Auburn over West Virginia.

I guess my point to all of you SEC and UGA fans is this, if the ACC is as bad as you say it is, then what does that make the SEC? Unproven, and possibly mediocre. By ragging on us you’re bringing yourselves down. Why don’t you all sack up and play some legit out of conference opponents. Say what you want about the ACC, but at least we try to schedule some ball games. VT played Nebraska and Alabama. NC State played Pitt (and won). Miami scheduled Oklahoma (if Bradford didn’t go down, it would have mattered more), Wake played Stanford (and won), Tech would be playing Ole Miss if they hadn’t backed out of our one and one, Clemson played TCU and so did Virginia, even Duke travelled to Kansas.

And a final point, if we’re really that bad as a conference, how can writing on this blog possibly be worth your time?

Here comes the classic comeback. I can feel it coming. The SEC is so tough, they don’t need to go looking for tough out of conference opponents. It’s hard enough to win out in conference.

Louise,

Why all the chatter from a team that lost five times (yes…KENTUCKY!) and is heading to Shreveport?

And quite honestly, the SEC had two good teams this year, the rest were middle of the road at best – like the rest of the conferences…it really doesn’t matter if you play the two good teams in your conference if you don’t beat them…whe the heck cares?

Finally, remember the ACC was the first to send 10 teams to bowls last year…been there done that.

You’re struggling, friend.

The ACC has the worst record in BCS games, while the SEC has the best. The ACC hasn’t won a National Championship this century, the SEC is about to win their 5th. The ACC hasn’t had an original ACC member win the national title (OUTRIGHT) in over a quarter century. None of the SEC’s new additions have done squat.

You people are pathetic, but absolutely hilarious!!!

college football fan

December 10th, 2009

Right or wrong, the SEC is perceived as being world beaters. They are the only conference that can have a 2 loss team contend for the national championship. While teams in the Big 10, ACC and Pac 10 have to not only be undefeated, but win every game in impressive fashion. It wouldn’t make much sense for AD’s of SEC teams to schedule difficult out of conference games while the voters perceive the SEC as being so dominate. So for UT and UGA to schedule difficult games out of the SEC should be admired, since technically they really don’t have to.

I’m always on the look out for interesting blogs and forums to discuss football. I believe it’ll take the SEC sliding (possibly losing 2 out of their next 3 national title games) for the armor to fall off for the media to stop the slobber fest. Maybe then they’ll be more inclined to schedule OOC games with good teams. But they’ve earned the love affair for the time being. Definitely a lot more than the Big 10 during the late 90’s and early 2000’s. The media is very much in the bag for the Big 10 and are looking for any excuse to put them back on top. At least the SEC has earned it on the field.

Lake Lanier, would you care to explain how Michigan State and Colorado “earned” national championships? Colorado took five downs to win against Missouri and were GIVEN the OB win against Notre Dame because of a bogus clipping call against the Irish. AND they lost to an 8-4 Illinois team. Tech was 11-0-1, with the tie coming against UNC. Even Tom Osborne, the Nebraska coach at the time, and not one know for petty behavior, voted for Tech over Colorado, having played us both. In 1952 Michigan State played only 9 games having played only 3 conference teams and not going to the Rose Bowl nor, as far as I can tell, any bowl game; Tech played 12 games WITH a Sugar Bowl game win against Ole Miss for a 12-0 record. So please tell me just how Colorado and Michigan State EARNED anything, regardless of what mindless pollsters GAVE them. And whoever pointed out that Tech has only won 2 1/2 ACC titles in 50 years should realize that Tech has only been in the ACC since the 80s; that doesn’t make for 50 years. How many SEC titles has UGAG won since the 80s? Three, I believe…not a bad comparison. And, I might add, that since conference affiliations began in 1896, Tech has won 16 conference championships, and UGAG has only won 13, and that includes the 68 years when Tech and UGAG were in the same conference (first the SAIA, then the Southern, and finally the SEC). You mutts need to get your facts straight before you go claiming to know history.

When will dawg nation appreciate the early Christmas present of only having Nesbit on the field for 2.5 quarters.

Why all the talk about A.J. not playing? The reality is, he wouldn’t have been on the field anyway with the success of the running plays. In fact, if ugag had passed more, it would have allowed GT’s offence more time on the field, in which case ugag would have been used as a floor mop. Lest ye forget how close GT was to the first down on the final drive? That’s right GT beat GT…ugag was the benefactor.

Defensive MVP is a no brainer…Derrick Morgan. Our defense has been of the “ole” variety all season, but in those absolute, have to have a stop moments, it has always been Morgan making a sack or pressure to get it done. Two games were essentially won on plays by Morgan, against Wake Forest to force OT and at the end of the ACC championship game against Clemson. He’s a force and I’m sorry to say the Orange Bowl will be his last game at GT. But he’ll make some NFL team very happy next year (perhaps the Falcons might luck up and get him).

Offensive MVP has to be Josh Nesbitt. Don’t get me wrong, I love Jon Dwyer and we don’t win the ACC without him. But the difference between 9-4 last year and 11-2 this year was absolutely Nesbitt. When defenses were stopping Dwyer, Nesbitt willed GT to gain yards and score TD’s and win games. He made the passing game work much more efficiently this year, taking advantage of Demaryius Thomas’ physical advantage. He was as tough as any player in the nation. That play against FSU where the pitch was fumbled and picked up by FSU only to have Nesbitt rip the ball back was the stuff legends are made of. Gaining that yard in OT on 4th down against WF is also a highlight GT fans won’t forget for a long time. He’s a gamer and all you need to do to know how valuable he was to this season is to watch the 2nd Quarter against UGA when he was out of the game where just one more TD would have made it a win for GT. If he plays all those series instead of Jaybo (who to be fair had no significant action until that game), who knows how that game turns out.

My biggest surprise is how god awful the defense has been. I know Michael Johnson, Daryl Richard and Vance Walker were great players, but GT returned enough guys including All-Conference players like Morgan Burnett and Derrick Morgan and all their starters other than those three DL guys. The secondary should have been a strength, but it hasn’t panned out that way. Injury has played a role, losing Cooper Taylor for the year and Dominique Reese for a long stretch, but they should have done better. I wonder if a better defensive coordinator is out there that they could bring in.

It just goes to show how valuable defensive and offensive lines are. I thought we were going to be solid on the defensive side on the ball with all our returning players and that Morgan, Hall, Anderson, Peters, Walls, and Barnes would be able to step up and make an impact on the line. Injuries and inexperience kept our dline from meshing and playing to their abilities. Looking at last years and this years recruiting classes, CPJ has addressed both the offensive and defensive line deficiencies. If all our verbal commits for this year accept their scholarships to Tech, 14 of the new 34 scholarship athletes are on the offensive (6) or defensive line (8). CPJ understands that we need to develop depth on the line if we want to consistently be competitive. It’s a great time to be a Jacket fan.

new Trojan, would you care to specify which championships Tech didn’t win? In case you are stupidly pointing to 1990 and 1952, let me repeat what I typed earlier: “Please explain how Michigan State and Colorado “earned” national championships? So please tell me just how Colorado and Michigan State EARNED anything, regardless of what mindless pollsters GAVE them.”

The Real Truth

No here’s the real truth about your “national title”

Attention: Redneck UGA Fans

Just one name: Jan Kemp. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jan_Kemp

Jan Kemp began teaching at the University of Georgia in 1978.
In 1981 Kemp was one of the teachers who complained claiming that Georgia officials had intervened allowing nine college football players to pass the remedial English course, allowing them to play against Pittsburgh in the Sugar Bowl.
Kemp was demoted in 1982 and dismissed one year later. She then filed a lawsuit claiming she had been fired due to her complaints about the passing of players. During the time after she was dismissed Kemp tried to commit suicide twice. The University defended its actions saying that Kemp was dismissed for “disruptive conduct and for failure to conduct adequate scholarly research”.[1]
The jury found the University guilty for the illegal dismissal of Dr. Kemp and she was awarded $2.5 Million, which was later reduced to $1.08 Million. Kemp was reinstated and University President Dr. Fred C. Davison resigned.
After the trial Kemp spoke to The New York Times saying “All over the country, athletes are used to produce revenue. I’ve seen what happens when the lights dim and the crowd fades. They’re left with nothing. I want that stopped”. Kemp retired from teaching in 1990 and was named a hero of the 1980’s by People magazine.
Guess that 1980 National Title will need an *ASTERISK* by it.

Real Truth, you don’t know what you’re talking about. First, we did NOT erase (vacate is the proper word) those 3 victories from 1997-2003. That penalty was appealed and dropped, so the games count….at least to anybody and everybody outside of Athens. The games in 1943 and 1944 were accepted as legit by the NCAA. Tech was not the only school in the country using “military” athletes. But it seems that UGAG is the only school in the country that disputes such teams and such games. The NCAA and every other team that Tech beat those two years acknowledge them as legit, so why don’t the mutts? Because you are and always have been whiney, excuse-making rednecks.

It’s really quite entertaining reading all of these pathetic Bulldog posters here on the GA Tech blog.

Rather than being concerned that Georgia is headed to Shreveport, Louisiana, with a 7 win season, after a preseason ranking of number 14 in the country I might add, and the boys headed off without any defensive coaches because they were all fired, even though Head Coach Mark Richt swore to recruits all season they wouldn’t be; we have these children here on the GA Tech blog trying to make the GA Tech faithful get upset about one loss in a season that was a culmination of an 11 win season, an ACC Championship, and a trip to Miami to play in the Orange Bowl.

So UGA beat GA Tech this season? GA Tech held UGA to 6 points their last THREE drives and UGA only stopped GA Tech ONCE the entire game when they didn’t turn the ball over – GA Tech’s final drive when Demaryius Thomas dropped the ball with a minute to go in the game.

Even with Georgia gashing GA Tech’s defense for all of those rushing yards, if GA Tech would have maintained possession of those two turnovers, the Jackets were scoring TD’s, and had begun holding UGA to field goals, and then zilch…

Let Georgia fans crow all they want. They get to go to Shreveport, over Christmas, to drown out their sorrow in egg nog, and GA Tech fans get to go to Miami, over New Years, to toast the town in champagne. Maybe while they’re there, they can take some pick some photos of the bayous for us and we can bring them some photos of South Beach in return.

Okay, I’m haven’t posted in a while (because we lost the “hate” game I tend to be slow to speak) but I’m going to try to clear some things up.

First, to the point that this year’s Orange Bowl is the “worst BCS game of the year (and probably ever)”…are you kidding me? The worst is definitely this year’s Fiesta Bowl. Lose lose for both teams. Okay, you don’t wanna see Iowa since you’re from the South…but don’t deny that Stanzi’s return will make for a great game. Number 11 O versus number 11 D. Should be epic. Why is it that Tech’s drive to the orange bowl (which has nothing to do with UGA) is somehow “by default”? In case you didn’t notice the ACC (voted the 3rd best conference this year, out of 12) has an OUTRIGHT championship game which Tech won.

I can be a man and admit that Tech lost two games this year and one of them was UGA. I won’t try to be a fan that devalues that win for them. But I’ll say this. Miami didn’t define their season based on a win over us, and they didn’t end up all that well either. But UGA has CERTAINLY made a huge ruccus over it. Why? Because unlike Miami (who would destroy the dawgs if they played) UGA has only this one win to hang its hat on for an otherwise abysmal season. Even though we lost this once, i can see the thinly veiled fear and respect that drives all this nonsense from the butt-licker nation.

Even Bama and Auburn fans can admit that they’re rivalry is heated because both teams are good. UGA fans can’t admit that “Clean, Old Fashioned Hate” has returned to this status as a more even-handed rivalry (at the moment…not pre-Johnson, obviously). Just admit that you love the win you got over us (as well you should….only one other team pulled that off this season), and focus on fixing that staffing issue. But you can’t deny us our championship and our bowl berth. It will be one of the best games to watch this January! I’ll be wearing Maroon, though, come time for the “Never-Heard-Of-It-1000.com” Independence Bowl.

Do you know how many times the NCAA has actually vacated a team’s wins due to criminal and/or academic fraud? You can count them on one hand. It doesn’t mean nothing illegal was done, it’s simply politics at it’s best. Any real man with a conscience would not consider the wins in late 90’s as legit, and they sure as heck wouldn’t consider wins while playing the team captains of Alabama and Vandy as “Tech” wins. I understand your desperation. Your program is so pathetic they have to glorify wins that OTHER teams players had or to cheat academically.

MyWhiskeyClear,

Your rant was most amusing. I don’t even know where to start.

Yes, this year’s Orange Bowl is the worst BCS game ever. You have the champ of the worst BCS conference against the 2nd best team from the 2nd worse BCS conference. Do you really need for me to draw a picture? The fact that the two best ACC teams got steamrolled by two mediocre SEC teams didn’t help.

“Even though we lost this once?” No sweetheart, you’ve lost this one 20+ more times than your daddy from Athens has. I know it hurts, and I love knowing how miserable you are to be reminded of this fact.

The only fear is from you Trade School fans. You all convinced yourselves that Johnson would never lose to UGA, especially in a year where UGA has 5 losses, without their best player and playing in your house. But ooops!!!! Richt out coached the 7th best team in the nation with his WORST team ever. I can hear your knees knocking over the computer. You know Richt is your master. And all this nonsense about the rivalry is back, what are you talking about? Gailey had three losses to UGA that were 7 points or less. Trying to pretend that Johnson has evened this rivalry out (which is laughable) is more insulting to
your joke of a program than a compliment.

No one is denying that Tech didn’t win the ACC in a season where the conference had 6 teams .500 or worse. :)

It’s only in the last 30 years that Sanford & Son Stadium had a larger seating capacity than Grant Field. Back in the 50s and early 60s and probably prior to then, UGAG occasionally played games in Grant Field; I don’t know if they were double-headers or just single games when Tech was on the road. In those days, Sanford & Son Stadium had a capacity of about 35,000, while Grant Field’s capacity was 50,000+. Those days are obviously long gone, but it was because of those days and the 60+ prior years (plus many other things) that Tech, even now, has a far more storied history than does UGAG. Yes, UGAG had a few good years before Dooley, but not nearly so many good ones as did Tech

To CU90, Tech bolted the SEC because Bear wouldn’t take responsibility for one of his players nearly killing a Tech player during the 1961 game. And since when does the quality of a team’s regular season schedule guarantee anything? If that were the case, then neither Bama nor UF would have been ranked so high this year, because aside from a couple of good SEC teams, they didn’t play anybody. CU was GIVEN two games that year (Missouri and Notre Dame) and didn’t earn or deserve anything. But, as I have said earlier, a shared title means every bit as much as a solo one, so you take what you were given, and we’ll take what we have.

Bear & Richt, it may surprise you to know that Tech’s all-time record against the Tide is 21-28-3, and against the Bear 2-7. So yes, the Bear allowed the Tide to move ahead in the series, but of the 8 games he played against Dodd, he never beat Tech senseless. The largest victory margin in that span was in 1964 at 16 points (the last year the two teams playe). Most of those games were decided by 1 to 3 point margins. It was Bear’s player (Darwin Holt) who beat senseless one of Tech’s players (Chick Granning), and THAT was the reason Dodd pulled Tech out of the SEC.

@Sidberry

I’m not insulting the program by saying Gailey’s tenure was bad. EVERYONE in or out of our program could see that. We as Tech fans should know it best. Is it the sign of a bad program to have people that know there were problems? Probably the opposite. Collectively UGA isn’t saying the best things about their late defensive staff are they? No, because it’s just fine to critique your own program.

On that note, keep in mind you’re trying to convince me that my team is somehow doing poorly or is not as good as your team. To do that you can’t tell me that I ought to consider the rivalry’s past games, especially under old coaches! If we’re talking here and now then, yes, we lost to the dawgs. How? Well most outsiders say it was a dropped pass, but we know it’s reasonable to say that we should not have been inthat situation in the first place. So, backing up we see that our backup quarterback threw a pick. Why were we in that situation? Well, Nesbitt got hurt. But, according to you, we were outcoached. If you speak of offense, then I’ll give you that. Bobo had our D’s number with the cutback run. If you are speaking of defense, then the only logical conclusion I can come to is that you mean that your players were coached to have Nesbitt be injured. But that was not in their control. Or was it? Guess it’s not important because BayBay dropped the pass. We’ll never know. The rules say you won the game. And you did. But do we have to agree that the dawgs were the better team on the field? Sorry, but that debate won’t end.

So under the current coaching staffs it is 1-1. An even rivalry all the same. No one gets to be anyone’s “daddy” until you get a win streak. That hasn’t happened since our old coach. Be smug, you’ve earned that much. But NOT about the bowls, and not about the history. Bark about your ONE win in the CURRENT series, and go play your little bowl game in the boonies.

And as always, TO HELL WITH GEORGIA!

Rules of Bragging Rights.

if you win the “Hate Game”
Do- tear up the other team’s field
– take every chance to rub it in
– talk trash about it for 364 days
(eg. You heard it all last year, we will hear it all this year)

Do Not – brag about total wins unless you are on a current win streak
– bring academics/school superiority into it
– bring history into it
(eg. 60-39 all-time, Tech 7th best public school out of 500 in the country, Tech or UGA’s debated # of Nat. .Championships)

If you win your conference:
Do – talk trash about THIS season to every other in-conference teams fans
(eg. Clemson sucks, VT sucks, UNC sucks, blah blah blah)
Do Not – brag about it to fans of teams in other conferences
(eg. Hey, Kansas, did you win YOUR conference? We won OURS! [stupid])

If you go to a BCS Bowl:
Do- talk trash to your opposing fanbase in that same bowl
– brag to teams that did not make a BCS Bowl
(eg. Iowa, we will beat you. Ole Miss, where’s your at-large bid?)
Do Not – brag to teams that made it to another BCS Bowl
-complain that you are not in the Nat. Champ Game
(eg. Hey, Florida, come get some. Hey, Texas, enjoy our spot in the NCG! [very stupid])

So with this we can see that bragging ONLY comes from what your CURRENT team has done THIS season owing to what they can control. The BCS is a clusterfest for sure, and the rivals will always claw for respect and superiority. But bragging remains simple. Show me THIS SEASON’s accomplishments! I thought everyone knew this stuff…it’s like beer and meat…simple man stuff.

Possibly. I’ve been reading drivel for days now. I honestly wonder how many brain cells jump ship every time I get back from the lab, hop on here and read more UGA crowing. Maybe I’ve lost it for good…

I guess rules are lame then? I just figured they clarified how not to look like a tool when crowing about your team. I don’t talk about academics to UGA kida becuase it’s tool-ish. So don’t talk to me about 8-1. The one…that was this year. Laugh at me for that…but not the 8.

sorry, haha! Since 1978, UGAG has 4.5 conference championships (1980,1981 shared, 1982, 2002, 2006). And yes, I was incorrect about Tech’s first year in the ACC. It WAS 1978, not 1982. Regardless 4.5 in 31 years is not substantially better than 2.5. Overall UGAG is pretty much irrelevant in the SEC.

Question

December 10th, 2009
4:40 pm

Does anyone think we will get a new Defensive Coordinator next year? As I understand it CPJ’s normal defensive coordinator stayed to coach Navy. Do you think we will experience the loyalty problems of the UGA coaching staff? This team is a title contender with any semblance of a defense.

MyWhiskeyClear

December 10th, 2009
4:43 pm

Question, if we were going to do that, why would we not fire the current one and join the merry-go-round of coaching staff that goes on at this time of year when the all the hot-ticket assistants are looking to trade up? I have a sinking feeling that Wommack is safe for a while…

Supersize that order, mutt

December 10th, 2009
4:44 pm

Question, I hope I’m wrong, but I sort of think that Johnson will give Wommack one more year. Let’s hope maybe that Wommack, since he’s no young chicken, will understand that things just aren’t working and retire, or something along that line. But, like I said, let’s hope I’m wrong, and Johnson fires or “promotes” him or something.

Btown Dawg

Im just stating facts that UGA is not exactly on a roll right now and they fired the defensive coaches because of it. If UGA goes 7-5 or 8-4 next season with another group of top notch talent then it wont be coordinators getting fired it will be Richt. I dont think you realize how much UGA has underachieved lately, plus the discipline of the players on and off the field is pretty alarming.

No, you were stating LIES that I corrected you on. You only wish Richt would get fired. No one is seriously expecting Richt to win the SEC with a freshman QB next year. So you can go right ahead and continue lying to yourself all you want. I know you’re scared of Richt, as well you should be.

I dont give a sh*t how bad of a year we ever have…..I will never talk up Clemson or Miami or Fla St. I am a Tech fan. I never jump ship and talk up other teams when we are down. Sad sad sad ….Uga beat us this year with an inferior team.(what comes around goes around…see last year) congrats. That lose did not derail our season. It made theirs. And I will always support the white and gold, and not act like Ga fans and show my as s . The UGA fans who show up here every day never went to UGA. I know lots of Ga grads and none of them have ever acted so stupid. Here is to the Ga grads. the rest of the trash fans should get a life.

UGAY has finished in the top 5 in recruiting according to Rivals.com the past few years and 7-5 is the best you have to show for it. All you had to do was beat Kentucky but you did not. Everytime signing day comes around the rest of the state has to hear how superior your incoming class is going to be. Now you did not live up to those expectations and your fans after the Kentucky game were ready to run Richt off on a rail. Now you change your tune and it was a down year, a rebuildng year, a year that you were grateful for the wins you got. Bullcr@p. Hypocrites full of you own shame and you want to put this shame on GT and everyone else. The truth, UGAY should have been ranked in the top 15 with no problems but you lost to Ok St, TN and Kentucky.

keep making excuses

December 13th, 2009
9:08 pm

Wow, if you left it up to Tool fans they’d have every person convinced all UGA does is land the top recruiting class in the country every year and accept nothing but 5-star athletes. When the fact of the matter is, we do hover around the top 10 annually, but Richt has only landed nine 5-star guys since he’s been in Athens. But what does UGA’s recruiting class have to do with ruining Tech’s dream season? Why are you still making excuses that your overrated coach and team simply got exposed?

Our top 3 players from a season ago went in the first 2 rounds of the draft. Very few teams are able to rebound after losses like that. Face the facts. You got your pants pulled down by Joe Cox and Willie and you’re humiliated for it :)
