Blog will resume soon

It’s a slow time of the year. Tech is in finals so there’s no practices this week. They will resume next week, so I’ll be back with the blog then.

In the meantime, I thought I’d open the floor to you. I’d like to know who you think the team’s offensive MVP, defensive MVP, biggest surprise were this season.

Surprise can be player, play, game, moment….anything.

I think every coach’s game plan is to score more than the other team. When you possess the best WR in the country, and you’re playing against one of the weakest defenses in the country, you exploit that til your blue in the face. Tech and their DB’s are lucky Green was hurt.

It’s weird that the tool fans would bring up UGA’s 5 losses, as though they contributed to that somehow?

Yeah, 5 loss, kinda like mutt fans bringing up the superiority of the SEC (UF and Bama) like they contributed to that somehow.

You may be right, AJ probably would have done well but the more passes that Cox would have thrown he would have eventually made a mistake that could have cost you the game. Just like our backup quarterback did. The game worked out perfectly because you guys didnt have to worry about Cox who is easily the weak point of the offense.

It just goes to show how valuable defensive and offensive lines are. I thought we were going to be solid on the defensive side on the ball with all our returning players and that Morgan, Hall, Anderson, Peters, Walls, and Barnes would be able to step up and make an impact on the line. Injuries and inexperience kept our dline from meshing and playing to their abilities. Looking at last years and this years recruiting classes, CPJ has addressed both the offensive and defensive line deficiencies. If all our verbal commits for this year accept their scholarships to Tech, 14 of the new 34 scholarship athletes are on the offensive (6) or defensive line (8). CPJ understands that we need to develop depth on the line if we want to consistently be competitive. It’s a great time to be a Jacket fan.

You’re only kidding yourself, and embarrassing yourself, if you think UGA has had nothing to do with the surge of the SEC this decade. Sure they don’t have a national championship, but since getting to UGA, Richt’s Dawgs have the second most wins in the conference next to LSU, and his two SEC titles and two BCS bowl wins (as many as the entire ACC combined) aren’t chopped liver.

What’s funny to me is that every Tech fan out there, in the back of their mind, knows good and well that the Smurf Bowl hasn’t taken them off speed dial yet. Your worst nightmare will be relived again next year. Your best defender on your God awful D will be gone after the Orange Bowl. Your best offensive player will enter the NFL draft. Yes, UGA had a 5 loss season so naturally they’re not going to be in an upper tier bowl. This seems to only be shocking for Tech fans. What’s funny though, if the Gator Bowl hadn’t gone rouge and catered to Bowden and his horrible FSU team, UGA would have made the Chick-fil-a Bowl. Oh well, maybe this will send the message not to drop the ball like morons on your side of the field and not to commit idiotic penalties. It sure seemed to work for Bama a couple of years back

and not to mention that is you get by all 3 of those, there is this guy named “Rich’t Prison Cell Daddy” AKA Nick Saban who will throttle you in the SEC CG

Our best offensive player was obviously our thrower of the ball, Jason Nesbitt. He showed leadership and poise beyond his years. And when he throws it in the air there are very few out there that are any better than he.

Our best defensive player is clearly Maurice Morgan. He is the best tackler on the team and seems to be able to tackle any type of person, regardless of size or shape.

Surprise of the season was losing to UGA. I really thought we would score more points this year than they did.

new Trojan, would you care to specify which championships Tech didn’t win? In case you are stupidly pointing to 1990 and 1952, let me repeat what I typed earlier: “Please explain how Michigan State and Colorado “earned” national championships? Colorado took five downs to win against Missouri and were GIVEN the OB win against Notre Dame because of a bogus clipping call against the Irish. AND they lost to an 8-4 Illinois team. Tech was 11-0-1, with the tie coming against UNC. Even Tom Osborne, the Nebraska coach at the time, and not one know for petty behavior, voted for Tech over Colorado, having played us both. In 1952 Michigan State played only 9 games having played only 3 conference teams and not going to the Rose Bowl nor, as far as I can tell, any bowl game; Tech played 12 games WITH a Sugar Bowl game win against Ole Miss for a 12-0 record. So please tell me just how Colorado and Michigan State EARNED anything, regardless of what mindless pollsters GAVE them.”

1990 season:

CU played FOUR conference champions, losing to one early in the season on the road.
GT played ZERO conference champions, but tied a God awful UNC team late in the year that wasn’t even bowl eligible.

This is why the unbiased voters in the media voted overwhelming for UC, and why GT barely got enough of the biased, agenda driven coaches votes.

No, nams, we credit ALL the legitimate polls. And we shared the number 1 spot in both 1952 and 1990. All I am saying is that it is ignorant for anyone to disparage a shared championship; there have been quite a few of them in the history of college football. The NCAA recognizes shared as well as unshared championships. I was simply stating the case for Tech’s having earned a share of the championship and not, as new Trojan claimed, “claiming” but not “earning.”

The NCAA recognizes 39 games won by Tech, so why don’t you? If we’re going to take every title away from teams that had bad calls made in their favor, then there wouldn’t be a single national champion in the history of any sport!!!

First game ever played, Tech didn’t even use their own players. In 1943 and 44, Tech used players from other teams. Tech was caught cheating in 1997-2003, therefore erasing their 3 wins during this time span.

That’s 6 victories that Tech claims that they didn’t earn since they cheated, therefore pushing UGA’s total lead to 27.

Thanks for playing

The unsurprising MVP of the GT offense is J. Nesbit.

as for Colorado’s farce of the illegal, five down touchdown against Missouri, they should be stripped of any recognition for the 1990 season and the zebras in the CO-MO game lined up and shot.
CU would have lost to that 1990 Tech team by 40 points.

The Real Truth

No here’s the real truth about your “national title”

Attention: Redneck UGA Fans

Just one name: Jan Kemp. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jan_Kemp

Jan Kemp began teaching at the University of Georgia in 1978.
In 1981 Kemp was one of the teachers who complained claiming that Georgia officials had intervened allowing nine college football players to pass the remedial English course, allowing them to play against Pittsburgh in the Sugar Bowl.
Kemp was demoted in 1982 and dismissed one year later. She then filed a lawsuit claiming she had been fired due to her complaints about the passing of players. During the time after she was dismissed Kemp tried to commit suicide twice. The University defended its actions saying that Kemp was dismissed for “disruptive conduct and for failure to conduct adequate scholarly research”.[1]
The jury found the University guilty for the illegal dismissal of Dr. Kemp and she was awarded $2.5 Million, which was later reduced to $1.08 Million. Kemp was reinstated and University President Dr. Fred C. Davison resigned.
After the trial Kemp spoke to The New York Times saying “All over the country, athletes are used to produce revenue. I’ve seen what happens when the lights dim and the crowd fades. They’re left with nothing. I want that stopped”. Kemp retired from teaching in 1990 and was named a hero of the 1980’s by People magazine.
Guess that 1980 National Title will need an *ASTERISK* by it.

Real Truth, you don’t know what you’re talking about. First, we did NOT erase (vacate is the proper word) those 3 victories from 1997-2003. That penalty was appealed and dropped, so the games count….at least to anybody and everybody outside of Athens. The games in 1943 and 1944 were accepted as legit by the NCAA. Tech was not the only school in the country using “military” athletes. But it seems that UGAG is the only school in the country that disputes such teams and such games. The NCAA and every other team that Tech beat those two years acknowledge them as legit, so why don’t the mutts? Because you are and always have been whiney, excuse-making rednecks.

Not only that, 11-2, UGAG had their hands full beating a Notre Dame team that had had to come from behind just to tie Tech during the regular season. As is usually the case, UGAG gets patsies to play in their bowl games, that time one who was, as always, totally overrated by the media (again the perennial media bias).
