Couple of bits of information

It appears that special teams coordinator and A-backs coach Jeff Monken will help coach Georgia Tech in the Orange Bowl.

Monken recently accepted the head coaching position at Georgia Southern. He and the university held a press conference yesterday. It appears he may be splitting some time between Statesboro. The story on Southern’s website said that he has begun his duties for the Eagles.

Item No. 2:

There’s going to be another Georgia Tech golfer on the PGA Tour: Cameron Tringale. He tied for 19th place at the tour Qualifying School with a 10-under par 422. He went 8-under in the event’s last two rounds.

He will join alumni Stewart Cink, Matt Kuchar, Troy Matteson, Bryce Molder and Nicholas Thompson (123rd) on the Tour in 2010.

Any chance of Wommack being replaced? To me, he just hopes the offense scores, so he dont look so bad when he gives up points.

Funny that the bowl committees didn’t think beating Yech was that big of a deal. UGA only got an Independence Bowl upgrade.

I think Johnson should be concerned that he can’t even beat UGA at his own house with his defending ACC player of the year, current ACC defender of the year, without having to worry with AJ Green. Dark days ahead on the flats.

Can anyone take a guess as to why the Lord feels fit to punish the Orange Bowl with the crappiest match ups by far of any of the BCS games? Heck, most of the non-BCS games are more intriguing.

If Tech fans think the ACC is content having the YellowJackets as their representative then think again. This fluke will never be repeated again. NC is on the up and up. Miami and FSU will be getting back to their old form next season. Va. Tech will work out their kinks and BC will surely be a force again in the near future. Enjoy your bowl game next month Tech fans. It’ll be the last time “BCS” is ever mention in the same sentence with your school again. As well you know

Look we can do it too...

I am not a big supporter of Wommack. I understand that our d-line is undersized, but aside from Morgan, we rarely get pressure on the qb or are in position to make tackles in the backfield. Not to mention our defense lacks the ability to tackle a player in open field. We consistently take bad angles to the ball carrier and end up giving up big plays because of it. These are areas of the game that should improve as the season progresses. Wommack has not been coaching up our players enough.

Jonathan, I’m willing to bet that there isn’t a single person on this blog that is buying your little tale…..however, all the Tech fan would have had to say was…,”Orange Bowl, EIGHT game win streak, 4 National Championship Trophies to 1, 1st team to play in all four major bowls, etc”… Cute story, though! You should’ve started it with, “Once upon a time….”

Yes, I’m talking about football. You tools like to bring up National Titles all the time since you can’t beat UGA fans in any debate, so I just thought I’d bring up ACC Titles. That’s fair, right?

Why is Tech near the basement in this department, btw?

Jonathan

Wow, it makes it even funnier that you’re trying to deny that it could happen. Sweet. He tried to bring up National Titles (he said 5) then I embarrassed him by pointing out they haven’t won one outright since the 20’s, and their most current they didn’t even win. He had no clue that Tech has never been #1 in the AP, not even for a week. He also didn’t know UGA was up a quarter century in wins over the nerds, he thought the series was about even. He of course didn’t know about the 8 game win streak, since like you, he’d have to read about it in a history book. Sad macro that all your “glory” took place before your grandparents were born

Jonathan, I hope you know that last Friday I got in a scuffle with two smart mouth uga fan teenagers in a bathroom at a gas station. They were running their mouth the whole time(30-24,TECH sucks, this and that) then decided to throw my TECH hat on the bathroom floor. Now remember it’s two on one, go figure. One got body slammed against the concrete floor and the other ran out the door. I didn’t punch them out because I’m an adult and they’re just two little underage idiots. They both got my point and I’ll doubt they will be running their mouth to TECH fans after what happened. This is a true story.
