Facing the Hawkeyes
It may not have the glitz of the battle of the unbeatens in the Fiesta, but the Orange Bowl will be a great matchup of offense vs. defense: Tech’s o’s vs. Iowa’s x’s. Or is it the other way around?
Either way, it should be fun to watch.
Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz said that he couldn’t remember the last time he faced a team that uses this much option, and that trying to simulate it in practice will be quite a challenge.
The Hawkeyes’ offense isn’t flashy, but with a defense as stout as Iowa’s is, they don’t have to be. A couple of scores here and there is all they need. It’s kind of like Tech’s defense. It doesn’t have to stop everyone all the time, just a couple a game seem to work fine.
Anyway, it’s beena long day so I’ll open it up to your thoughts about the matchup.

I was at the game too on the GT side sec 310 and the clemson fans were very loud, so it’s good to know that we were as loud if not louder – Also I DVR’d the game and watched it yesterday and the GT Band/fans were loud

Dog Gone “Truth” — Trash talking comes from Trash. If you weren’t so bitter about your 5-loss season, you would see the reality behind having TCU play Boise (they played each other last year in the Poinsettia Bowl). Because the BCS couldn’t justify leaving either team out this year, they isolated them in one game rather than playing them against BCS league teams. Previously, the Fiesta Bowl was gushing about picking Iowa to bring their 50,000 fan base to the game since it’s about money. Fiesta must be getting some kick-backs from the other BCS bowls to take the financial hit. By the way, you really must take and “pass” a course on Logic. In your reality Alabama should be celebrating winning last year’s National Championship, and Tech can claim last year’s ACC Championship and Orange Bowl win. Grow up, your team won “a” game. THE NCAA DOES NOT AWARD OR RECOGNIZE THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONS IN FOOTBALL.

It’s funny to see UGA fans try to make 7-5 sound good. I would love to have a rematch against Georgia this year again, but of course that won’t happen. In two years, Paul Johnson has completely turned GT football around. If Georgia fans think they will dominate Tech every year, they are completely wrong. Remember UGA fans, Paul Johnson is still playing with Chan Gailey’s recruits. Paul will be bringing in some good talent.

This is the matchup I wanted.
Outside the south the Big Ten’s perception is huge. Beat Iowa & you will improve the perception of the ACC across a large part of the country. And changing the perception of the ACC changes the perception of GT.
This is a huge game for the program & the conference.
