Paul Johnson and volleyball
A few weeks ago, as Georgia Tech’s volleyball team was on the verge of potentially missing out on at-large berth to the NCAA tournament after losses to Miami and Florida State, coach Tonya Johnson asked Paul Johnson to come talk to her women.
He not only came and spoke, he provided them with a little motivation with a sack of marbles.
He gave each player a marble and told them to keep it because they were playing for all the marbles.
Johnson said before each game they take the marbles from the girls, and then give them back after the game.
They are 3-0 since and will play Baylor in the first round of the NCAA tournament on Friday in Los Angeles.

Looks like the nerd herd will be headed to the Music City Bowl after they lose this Saturday. This is too funny……nobody wants to take your sorry asses in their bowl game. Poor attendance and support has repercussions nerds.

LOL @ Roberson. Tech ALMOST won the game? I ALMOST give a flying crap. You have been hanging around these pencil neck geeks too long my friend. ALMOST doesn’t cut it, especially when you’re a supposed top 10 team against a 6-5 team. When UGA ALMOST beat LSU no AJC writer ran to our defense. In fact, they drug us through the mud. When we ALMOST beat Kentucky, no AJC writer stuck up for us when the Techies were running their mouths. Not that we need your help mind you. Unlike Tech fans who cry like little girls over supposedly rude fan behavior, we can take care of ourselves.

Tech fans are being schooled on how to respond to a loss…
1. Change the subject to academics
2. Insist that we almost won…
3. Insist we would have won if they had played fair
4. Insist we were about to win but time ran out
5. Pretend like the game was not important
6. Pretend we won 4 NCs
7. Call the opposing fans rednecks
8. Insist we make more money
9. Pretend a 10 and 2 record in the A-SHE SHE conference is a real accomplishment

Actually I arrived in Tamapa today and was able to catch some rays in my bikini. Just like your football coach, I, too, have been going to a tanning salon and love having a winter tan. The hotel where I am staying also has a fitness room where I could workout, something you probably haven’t heard of or been to in your lifetime.
Just finished having broiled seafood tonight so if that is being miserable I have to say it’s not so bad. BTW, dogtards, I am a former GT majorette, and was basesweeper for the Atlanta Braves while attending Tech, Chic Fil A/Peach Bowl Princess and former Ms. GA World, and wow I did not even attend UGA, go figure… cause I got one of them too..and not afraid of you pitiful hicks…go ahead and demonize this because I have my fingers pointed right back at all of you and guess which fingers they are.
Do have one suggestion for CPJ, maybe bring the marbles and give them out to the guys Saturday night as well. I had heard about CPJ doing that on the OSR. Nice!

Notice something … last year after Tech won, Tech had just 2 jerks out on the blog, m and saint simons. Granted, they were obnoxious, and everyone hated them, INCLUDING the Tech fans. But for the most part, it was only TWO. Now look at how many obnoxious jerky UGA fans are posting … maybe A HUNDRED AND TWO ? Notice the trend ?: That’s what I’ve been waiting for someone to mention. Real GT fans were just as annoyed as UGA fans by m and saint simons, and we tended to say so. Granted, we weren’t as persistent as they were, but I have yet to see any UGA fan demonstrate any sort of shame about all of these obnoxious UGA posts.
And another thing: Quit acting like the practice of being a grotesquely obnoxious fan started with m and saint simons. Maybe we have them to thank for the constant reminder of this year’s score, but UGA probably has its own kind to think for the actions of m and saint simons.

Paul Johnson is a graceful, compassionate and loving man and should be viewed as such. He is the best offensive mind in college football and would never, ever lose his temper or make rash statements to the press.

I hear you…there were a lot of “internationals” out that night. Every time I set foot on that god-awful campus filled with homeless people and whinos, it is like I am at an freaking united nations summit! I literally think I’m visiting a foreign country.
