Couple of important updates to the starting lineup:
No. 1 Duke defensive tackle Vince Oghobaase will not play today.
No. 2, neither will Omoregie Uzzi for Tech.
—–
Should Tech win today and clinch a spot in the ACC championship game in Tampa on Dec. 5, tickets can be purchased on ramblinwreck.cstv.com.
The No. 7 Yellow Jackets will have an allotment of 14,000 tickets.

You can follow the game live on Jeff Schultz’s blog on ajc.com.

With Oghobaase out, the Blue Devils will be thin up front in the trenches. He is a very good defensive tackle and will be missed in this game. The triple option needs to produce lots of yardage and points today to keep the momentum going from last weeks victory.
Go to http://isportsweb.com for more articles on Georgia Tech Football and a preview of the game against the Duke Blue Devils.

ALL WR RECRUITS BEWARE!!! Whatever you do, do not commit to an option based offense like GT’s. Your best bet is to go with a pro-set offense like UGA runs.
Stephen Hill: 5 receptions, 129 yds, 1 TD
UGA’s (supposedly all-world WR recruits):
Rantavious Wooten: 6 receptions, 108 yds, 0 TD’s
Marlon Brown: 2 receptions, 15 yds, 0 TD’s
Yeah, that’s the ticket.

Doug — we need some commentary on how bad the Tech secondary tackling is … this is pathetic … Reese and Reid can do nothing. An honest assessment of Morgan Burnette … he has regressed from last year. Not sure why.

I know that there are some classy Tech fans out there. So, I want to give some congrats for the season they are having. You guys should be ranked higher. You are a top 5 team. Keep playing strong, I am rooting for you with the exception of one game. See you after Thanksgiving.

I flipped on the GA Aub game last night to root for the cats, once again the fans showed how classless they are booing their own team. Yes, Tech does have it easier in the ACC, perhaps they should lower their standards and allow not so smart guys play football. Yes, Tech does not sell a lot of tickets, perhaps they should move out of the redneck rich south. Ga Tech does alot with a little, especially Coach Johnson, I would like to see the UGA program do what he has done picking from left-overs after the big southern football factory universities here in the good ole south.

I have to admit, I was surprised UGA was able to come back and win last night. So maybe they will be in a mood for a tough scrap at Grant Field. AS long as our QB, Josh Nesbitt #9 eliminates fumbles on pitches, etc…there should be no reason to not run up another 400+ yards and 40+ points against the mutts. I am looking forward to it….just won 4 tix off of ebay…gonna be fun!

congrats on a good season. I’ve watched both teams since the mid/late 60’s and pull for both. I ignore the idiot masses on both blogs. but on one particular saturday I only pull for one team. That’s the team that has won 70% of the games since tech left the sec.
overall 59-36-5. last 20 14-6 UGA, last 30 22-8 UGA, last 40 28 -12 UGA. That’s how long I’ve had season tickets @ UGA. This includes two 7 game win streaks. We probably lose this year. You do have a dominant rushing offense however, your defense is weak and your passing game is suspect at best.
Rushing Defense UGA #40, GIT #49. Passing defense – UGA #50, GIT # 68, Scoring Defense GIT # 67 25 ppg, UGA #71 26 ppg. Defense is neither teams strength.
Now on offense GIT has the numbers.
Rushing offense GIT #2, UGA #81, Passing offense GIT # 115 UGA # 70, Total offense
GIT #11, UGA #88, Scoring Offense, GIT #11 36 ppg, UGA #61 28 ppg.
Right now I make GIT an 11 pt fav due to stats and the home field advantage. Get ready I think it’ll be like last year. Good luck in Tampa but not on the 28th.

It is a big win for Georgia Bulldogs to beat then Number 25 Coaches’ Poll Auburn.
AP Poll and USA Today Coaches’ Poll both have Georgia with several votes. In the computer rankings, Georgia is Number 24 in the Anderson-Hester Seattle Times Poll and Number 26 in the Jeff Sagarin BCS Rankings. The 4 others have us from 29 to 34.
Auburn is still getting votes in every poll, and well they should with wins over Ole Miss, West Virginia and Tennessee. Auburn only has the 1 game against Alabama left.
9 SEC teams are bowl eligible.
SEC has 9 bowls we have contracted with to send our 9 bowl eligible teams.
If Oklahoma beats Oklahoma State like they always do, then both TCU and Boise State will have a BCS Bowl Game. They could play each other in that BCS Bowl Game in Glendale Arizona, the Fiesta Bowl.
SEC has 3 Top 10 teams, in every single poll, but only 2 of the 3 can go to a BCS Bowl. Both will. This leaves LSU in the Cotton Bowl who would want LSU over Georgia at this point, no matter what UGA does – if LSU loses to Ole Miss.. If it is Ole Miss who loses to LSU instead, then, the Cotton Bowl would take Ole Miss over UGA I think. And, just as clearly, it would be LSU then with the win over Ole Miss, in the CapitalOne Bowl as the 3rd SEC team in the Top 10.
Georgia is still slotted for the $3 million dollar Outback Bowl in Tampa Florida.
The Big Ten (11) and the PAC-10, like the ACC, have NO top-ranked team in these discussions.
Oregon Lost to Boise State and Stanford and beat NO top-ranked team.
Ohio State Lost to Southern California whom everyone else beat, and Ohio State Lost to Purdue a 7-Loss team ranked number 77 in the BCS rankings today. Ohio State in the last 2 weeks beat Penn State and Iowa neither of whom played let alone beat anyone.
Georgia Tech finds its opponents this year are 46-48 for all games Tech will play. UGA’s opponents are 59-41 by stark contrast. This is SoS Number 4 for UGA and Number 40, ten times worse, for Georgia Tech.
Georgia Tech has not beat any Top-Ranked Team and will not even play one in the ACC Chumpionship Game.
Georgia Tech finds both teams in the SEC Championship Game way ahead of it, and the loser of that game will remain far ahead of Tech. A stumble by Tech and LSU is only 1 place back of Tech.
ACC finds Mountain West Champion ahead of the ACC Chumpion.
ACC finds WAC Champion ahead of the ACC Chumpion, too.
ACC finds Big East Champion ahead of the ACC Chumpion, as well.
ACC finds Big XII Champion ahead of the ACC Chumpion, for good measure.
ACC finds 2 SEC teams both way far ahead of the ACC Chumpion.
ACC Chumpionship Game is so beleaguered that it has been moved out of the Gator Bowl, which had horrid ratings for the game and no one there. This season is no different, with the ACC Atlantic Division offering up as its best team, Clemson. No one will watch the ACC Chumpionship Game, and no one will be there to watch it in person. The stadium will be half empty as always for the ACC Chumpionship Game.
Climpsum Farmers have played 2 ranked teams and Lost to 3 teams. Climpsum played TCU and Lost and Georgia Tech and Lost and throws in on its résumé having played Maryland who beat zero Division 1-A teams except Climpsum. For this, Climpsum Farmers get to play in the ACC Conference Chumpionship.
ACC stinks.
South Carolina can knock Climpsum Farmers out of the Rankings before the ACC Chumpionship Game. I’d bet on that one.
6 teams with 3 Losses are in the AP Poll Top 25, some as high as Number 14. Clearly, UGA can beat Georgia Tech, as always, garner our 60th win against Georgia Tech when there are only 4 teams in all of America who have Lost 60 times to one team, and make the Final AP Poll Top 25.
Kentucky beat Auburn and now faces off against first Georgia and then Tennessee.
Tennessee vols, did I get down to the Tennessee vols, now finally.
3 SEC teams are not bowl eligible, Vandie, Mississippi State (4 wins with Arkansas and Ole Miss remaining) and Tennessee vols are NOT bowl eligible with the other 9 SEC teams who ARE bowl eligible. Of course, there are only 9 SEC Bowl tie-ins, so there is no guarantee (as with South Carolina in recent past who was bowl eligible and found no bowl game wanted them) no guarantee at all that Tennessee actually would get a bowl game seed, even if it beats Kentucky or Vandie.
At this point, the Loss to Tennessee vols by Coach Richt’s Coaching Staff, is the 6th Loss by Coach Richt’s Coaching Staff to a team who ended the season NOT in the Final AP Poll Top 25. Coach Richt’s Coaching Staff has been here 9 years now this year and we have 6 Losses to a team not ranked that year in the Final AP Poll.
You just cannot lose to that kind of a team.
Georgia Losses to Oklahoma State look fine, to Florida looks fine, to LSU looks fine and in fact we had a chance against LSU and then did knock off Auburn. But, the loss to Tennessee vols soured this damned season entirely.
By stark contrast, Tennessee vols have Losses this Year to UCLA, Auburn and Ole Miss, not a 1 of which is a ranked team nor have any hope of being ranked in the Final AP Poll Top 25.
There is much to play for, after the outstanding win against Auburn to pull us within one game all-time in the series at 52-53-8.
Don’t forget that Kentucky beat Auburn too.
The $4.25 million CapitalOne Bowl in Orlando looks like Ole Miss right now.
Sugar Bowl looks like the loser of Alabama Florida for $17 million.
National Championship Game at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena has ONLY Texas against ONLY the winner of The SEC Championship Game.
Music City Bowl $1.5 million looks like South Carolina, clearly way behind Georgia.
Independence Bowl $1.2 million looks like Arkansas, clearly also way behind Georgia.
Liberty Bowl January 2 at $1.7 million looks like Auburn.
This leaves Kentucky in the Papajohn’s Bowl $750 thousand Birmingham.
Ole Miss could play its way out of the CapitalOne Bowl if it loses to LSU. This could send UGA to the Cotton Bowl. I went to the Cotton Bowl once against Arkansas, that could be fun. Ole Miss might then be in the Peach Bowl.
If that happens, LSU would prefer to play to in the CapitalOne Bowl at $4.25 million than in the Cotton Bowl at $3 million.
If you want to do something about this season to make a statement to not be the 1st UGA team starting 1997 to not be in the Final AP Poll Top 25, you will go out and run up the score against Kentucky and then beat the crap out of Tech, win the Outback Bowl and fade into the sunset.
To the Bulldogs Junkyard Blawg Bill King : The players knew that on 3rd and long calling again a running play that was a positive run, that we were not booing them. You are an idiot, as usual, to continue to make that statement that we were, or that now you say the players knew we were, booing them. This team for years now has been poorly coached. We will get change in the off-season, with your help or without it to get rid of this “coaching staff.” Read what you said yourself here on the coaching of this staff in this game sir. Get with the program. We booed the call. Quit with your B.S. we didn’t, or that the players thought we were booing them. We were not and every player on this team knows we want coaching changes and will absolutely demand it for that play call we booed sir.
Georgia has been now to 45 bowls and Georgia Tech to only 38.
Georgia has 25 wins and Georgia Tech only 22.
Georgia has a .605 Winning Percentage in Bowl Games and Tech only .595.
Georgia Tech has been Ranked in the Final AP Poll 6 of the last 12 years dating back to 1997. The first 5 starting 1997 and last year only. Georgia Tech also has never been Number 1 in the Final AP Poll ever, but has 6 NC in the same other polls who have also ranked UGA NC 6 times. UGA has been Number 1 in the Final AP Poll; Tech has NOT.
Georgia has been ranked in 12 of the last 12 dating back to 1997, and needs a large margin of Victory over Kentucky and then any win against Georgia Tech plus our bowl win, as usual too.
The highest ranking Georgia Tech has had in the Final AP Poll Top 10 starting 1997 is Number 9 one time and that is it.
The highest rankings for Georgia in the Final AP Poll Top 10 since 1997 are Number 2, Number 3, Number 7, Number 10, Number 10 again, and Number 7 again.
6 Top 10 Final AP Poll of the last Dozen for UGA.
1 Top 10 Final AP Poll of the last Dozen for Tech.

Georgia Tech defeated #22 UNC on 9/26 and #4 Virginia Tech on 10/17. Clemson is currently #23, but I didn’t mention them because they were not ranked when we defeated them.
South Carolina was 7-4 last year when Clemson defeated them. What makes you think that a 6-5 South Carolina team, that only scored 7 points against NC State, has a better chance of winning this year. Also, Clemson defeated #10 Miami on 10/24.
Our opponents have a won-loss record of 58-54, to date.
I confess that I wasted time reading that highly inaccurate SEC blurb. It’s great to be passionate about your team and your conference. Keep it real though. Ditto, William Casey.
