As was in today’s notebook, Georgia Tech may have to choose between its Old Gold jerseys or its blue ones for Saturday’s 3:30 p.m. game against Wake Forest.
The Demon Deacons have exercised their NCAA-given right to wear their white jerseys on Saturday. Every other team that’s visited Atlanta since Paul Johnson was hired has graciously agreed to let the Jackets wear white.
I would guess these are the choices that Tech has for Saturday:
Gold tops and white pants.
Blue tops, (slightly) gold pants
or
Blue tops, white pants
So there’s a few of the choices Tech has for the weekend. Personally, I like the blue tops and white pants. But I can understand why some may not, considering that blue isn’t one of the official school colors.
What say you?

Blue tops and the white pants look the best along with the white tops and gold pants.

I have always liked the blue top with the white pants. Brings back fond memories of the 90-91 national championship. I would prefer to wear the usual white but that doesn’t look to be an option right now.

It is UP with the WHITE and GOLD. If it has to be it can be reversed to GOLD and WHITE. The blue ones should be given away to some team that wears blue.
Let ugag play the silly games with the uniforms and helmets.

Gold tops, white pants.
A better question would be what is UGAg going to wear this week. I say white helmets, black jerseys, and red pants. I don’t think they’ve tried that one yet.

Don’t care really. But the new blue unis have the better looking gold, not the mustard gold from last year. Also, I wouldn’t mind seeing the classic unis we wore a few years ago. (White helmets et al)
Mainly though, I just want a solid performance by both sides of the ball and the special teams. If they wore purple, and they played well, I could handle it. LOL
Go Jackets!!

I just hope we wear all black for the UGA game. Helmet, shoes, pants, numbers, mouthpeice, chin strap, belt buckle, socks, face paint all black, no accents anywhere. Then act like you don’t understand what the big deal is.

The last 2 times we have worn blue (WF-2006, LSU-2008), we have lost. The blue jersey is jinxed. Go with gold.

Doug, it’s Tuesday, can we get an injury report? How is Howard? Reid? Sylvester? Tarrant?
Doug, navy was added as an official school color many years ago, but it’s intended only as an accent. My two cents is Old Gold and White at all times, no navy jersey ever (that goes for baseball too). If we can’t wear my favorite white tops and yellow britches, then we need to at least fashion a gold jersey.

Of the choices shown, the white and gold is the best. Don’t forget we have also used green tops and black tops in the past so they could be in the mix as well. What was the color combo when the “black watch” defense was dominant?

the blue jersies look great, but we lost the last 2 times we wore them…and i suffered thru both games in person…so i vote for gold jersies w/ white pants…but how about breaking out those super cool white helmets we wore in the ‘throwback’ game against Virginia a couple of years ago???

I reckon it depends somewhat on the colors of Wake Forest’s uniforms so there is some contrast. If all gold looked as good as the all white road uniforms, go with that. Otherwise, I like the blue tops with white pants.

They have gold jerseys in the same style as the current white ones (or at least they did last year when they unveiled the new style.); I am fairly confident these are the ones we will see on Saturday. The blue just doesn’t seem to be good luck. (see 2006 Gator Bowl, 2008 Chick-fil-a.)

NO BLUE! NO BLUE! NO BLUE!!!
Blue may be “officially” Tech’s 3rd color, but whoever made that stupid decision ought to be shot. If we need any 3rd color at all, it should be black. Who ever saw a yellow jacket flying through the air that was blue? Yellow Jackets in nature are black and gold. So black, not blue, should be our 3rd color, if we have to have one at all. That being said, Gold jerseys and White pants for the game Saturday. It’s a great looking uniform.

Calling Mr. Roberson! Calling Mr. Roberson! Please turn in your man card at the counter immediately. Truly, Doug, I had to google Project Runway. The mere fact that you know of that program is a crying shame. As to the topic at hand, I could care less what jerseys they show up in. I know for a fact that CPJ won’t turn this into a “let’s motivate our boys by introducing some bizzare colored uni” since I’m confident he knows that uniform changes don’t win a game for ya. Send the boys out in white and gold so “Up With the White and Gold” actually makes sense every time we score a TD. Lets exorcise some demons this Saturday! Go TECH!

Who cares what color they wear?
Let’s worry about focus and execution. Let UGA worry about making a fashion statement. I hear they are talking to Gucci about accessorizing a bit, you know, adding a scarf and putting some shiny crystals on the “G” on their helmets…

Juvenal: There is a specific NCAA rule about the home and away colors that requires the home to wear dark and the away to wear white. It says that any deviation from this has to be pre-approved before the season. Wake did not agree to change, so we could not wear white.
The SEC made a rule several years ago that allows the home team to make this decision, and the visiting team does not have an option. So, this allows LSU to always choose white at home.
Go Jackets!!

Not a real concern. Just focus on playing football. As I am sure CPJ might say, “The color of your jersey doesn’t get you any blocks or tackles once the game starts and those are what win football games”.
That said, I’d vote for the Gold over White.
