Georgia Tech vs. Virginia

I’m about 20 minutes outside of Charlottesville, riding with former esteemed colleague Dave Fairbank of the Newport News Daily Press.
We’ve passed the time talking about Chairman Groh, the fun of Paul Johnson, etc.
When I get to the press box, I’ll start posting some notes.
In the meantime, tell me about your favorite places to go on the road, stadiums, cities, eateries, etc.

uga can beat tech..have shown they can time and time again..beat them like a drum infact. talk all your samck about uga doesnt really bother me because everyone that knows football knows that uga is way above tech in football and will be for a long time. tech might have few good years but most of the time its loser town usa…and i know it hurts seeing uga win year in and year as much as you guys lose year in and year out.

Wow, sorry not going for that losers argument. Real teams meaning who? ACC has VT Miami and GT as the top teams. the rest are middle of the pack. SEC has FLA and ALA and a maybe LSU. The rest are middle of the pack. The other conferences have a max of two teams in there conference. So who are you talking about. Look at the future schedules of the SEC more and more cupcakes added. Don’t start that childish mess.

that offense looked like garbage in the first half..you had turnover to set up your first points and a long pass to set up the other…your not really moving the football that well ..and the d is giving up big pass plays like they have all year..

Will they let the UGA fans teardown the Goal Post when the dawgs beat the Gators? No by the time that happens I am sure they will have goal post the fly away after the game is over.

Halftime stats that stand out:

GT has 137 rushing yards compared to UVA’s 35.
Nesbitt and Dwyer both have 13 carries.
TJ Barnes has two tackles.

ATL-X 2 players with 13 carries each in the 1st half. Sounds like UGA’s running backs after 5 qtrs.

uga will be fine this year and hear on out. uga actuallt have big time players on their team and their young so thety will only get better..tech on the other hand is getting older and after next year wont have the players to run that high school offense against the better div 1 teams..then its back to 8-4 and 6-6 seasons while uga will be playing for a NC with murry and company..uga will never fear tech as they shouldnt.its not about the X’s and O’s but the Bobby’s and Joe’s..meaning its about the players you put on the field and uga will always have the beter players..and with richt and company will have the better coaches as long as tech has the best high school coach in college football on the sideline..aka mr gimmick

The UGA kool aid will need to be mixed with grain alcohol next week. Urban goes for style points in the polls. Leaves Tebow in too long etc. The kool aid drinkers still haven’t figured out that this is a “rebuilding” year for the curs.

First half play matched the weather. Played right, the option should be an advantage in the rain with the detriment of course being the greater chance for turnovers. I would like to see a pass on first down more often to keep the secondary off the line.

Wow, since you asked: GT has scored 28 or more 5 times, 30 or more 4 times, and more than 40 twice. Only in one game were we held to under 20, which was Miami.

This tv network sucks. No replay on the punt in the endzone. They come from commericial right when the play is happening. Plus the announcers are pro va. I’m listening on the radio. They suck.

Anyone trying to watch the game online with “Raycom live?” I am stuck at work, and trying to sneak it in. But it works even more poorly than ESPN 360.

I might have to skip off and find a bar. The snippets of this game I have seen look intense.

Why the hell would you feel sorry for Dwyer. Do you think he would rather get the ball and be tackled for no yardage because the defense id keying on him, or let somebody else (for instance, Nesbitt) carry to ball for yardage? Do you really think Dywer is in it for himself, instead of the team? Is that the way players are in Athens? Is that why they have become the perennial laughing stock of the SEC? They all play for themselves and not for the team. That could sure answer a lot of questions about why the mutts suck so bad.

Gotta love the UGAg mouthpieces on here – finally deciding to watch a team that can win even when the conditions are bad AND in a big away game. Too bad we have the best QB in the state theirs sucks Cox.
Nesbitt is looking good so far and I like the continued handoffs to Dwyer up the middle, it’s making them play in instead of the spread D they were running earlier to shut off our pitches. CPJ is doing that intentionally and will continue to do it as long as they are in spread formation. Watch and learn, chihuahuas, from a coach who knows how to make in-game adjustments.

we’ve seen this how many games in a row now? GT gets the lead, and CPJ calls that midline option in the third quarter, eating the yards and clock.
