Georgia Tech vs. Virginia
I’m about 20 minutes outside of Charlottesville, riding with former esteemed colleague Dave Fairbank of the Newport News Daily Press.
We’ve passed the time talking about Chairman Groh, the fun of Paul Johnson, etc.
When I get to the press box, I’ll start posting some notes.

Really big win today for GT. Now MUST wins Wake & at Duke. Wins over Vandy & UGA would be nice but are not necessary. GT needs to get into the mind frame that conference losses are not allowed. Lose to either Wake or Duke & might as well have lost today.
“Pray” that Clemson pulls it off. I have never understood why Spiller & Ford do not get the ball 45 times a game between them.

The Truth: BUGS was right GT did lose BIG. We lost some Sleep comming into the game, We lost some voice Screaming during the Victory, and We lost not laughing at another UGA lose this weekend.

The rest of their schedule looks pretty easy. They should finish with only one loss.

POAD, I started the Defensive Coordinators Fantasy League to determine if Willie should lose his job at the end of the year. I added Wommack for comparison. If Willie stays on the same path, he should be melba at the end of the year.

Great win for the Jackets. But all of those stupid? penalties may come back to haunt them if they are not careful. Keep it going, just cut down on the panalties and you might just go all the way.

POAD, you play by having a team. Yours being Tech, Wommack is you man. I threw in a bunch of names of DC’s that fans said they wanted in place of Willie. The DC fantasy league has Chavis of LSU, Muschamp of Texas, Smart of Bama, Foster of V-Tech, Willie, Bumpas of TCU and Wommack and Venables of Oklahoma for comparison.

So people still rag on the acc. BC which is what the 5th or 6th best acc team is beating ND in south bend 16-13. ND lost by 7 last week at home to USC. I can give a dozen or so more examples. SO please tell me how the acc is not equal to the sec. After watching this bama game, I think we are better.

Jacob, as long as the same defense that played Virginia shows up in every game, you have a shot to run the table. But the Tech defense has been on a rollercoaster ride all year.

good acc win for the jackets..congrats..now you need mia to lose which is still possible..but i didnt see anything that would make me think uga would not beat tech this year again…uga will score like crazy against tech again and this year instead of uga missing tackles they will make sure to wrap up and not them into next week for all the crap they have been taking since last years fluke win…but again congrats on the win

the U crushed tech styly points or not and would crus them again they played..tech doesnt have the speed to hang with mia..you guys really need to come back to earth..wow..it is good for a good laugh.
and bama is playing another sec team which would whipp just about any team in the acc easy. remember the sec is the best confrence in the land guys…hands down..the only teams the sec lose too most of the time are other sec teams…acc is a joke of a conference behinnd the big 12 and big 10

Joe, the individual in question was making disparaging remarks about the worthiness of the GT football program and the Conference in general. This Dawg thinks his remarks should be taken with a grain of salt that weighs no less than two pounds. Hope this helped you.
The SEC according to my Fantasy League is Bama and the Gators with the rest of us limping along.

ATL X keep thinking that. When has UGA scored like CRAZY? Agains’t D’s that stay on the field for more than 36 minutes? How long do you think UGA will have the ball to score against GT? I fugure with the rivalry maybe UGA and the GREAT JOE COX will have the ball 26 minutes out of the 60 minute total game time. I haven’t seen UGA beable to score that much or that fast to win. Het You maybe right UGA could find a carrot, but it will be in the Onionrings at the VARSITY not in Bobby Dodd on the Flats. I know, I know the REFS will be the reason you can’t and will not win. I KNOW the world is against the DAWGS for the stupid things you did in the GATOR game a few years ago. I KNOW. It will be OK. UGA VII will kill himself and UGA can start 2010 with a NEW DAWG, NEW DC(bye willie), and a new QB. CRY NOW and pray all summer. It will be OK.

Jacob, currently heads up, Wommack beats Willie. UGA will need to go to AJ often as Wommack gives up a hundred yards more per game passing than rushing. With the current state of our run game, the only way UGA wins is by the passing game.

BC, the 5th or 6th best acc team, is ahead of the irish late at ND. USC beat them by 7 last week. Again, the critics this year on the acc are clueless. The acc is the best or second best conf.
