Yes, it’s been that long

It’s been a slow week on campus, as odd as that sounds with what’s at stake on Saturday.
Coach Paul Johnson said it’s questionable that Cooper Taylor will play on Saturday. Julian Burnett likely won’t play, as well.
That was the big news from today’s practice.
With that, I thought it might be fun to take a look back at 1990, the year GT won the UPI national championship, and the last year that Georgia Tech won in Charlottesville. This is from the web site www.thepeopleshistory.com.

Well one butt kicking would still be 1 less than the DAWGS have right now. 2 less after your trip to GAINESVILLE and still 3 less that after your trip to Atlanta knocking UGA out of a BOWL. You Dawgs know you can’t beat AUBURN in Athens it is the LAW.

This is one of those games that GT should win, PERIOD. No excuses. What bothers me is the headlines on one of the articles today….. GT pleased with the progress of their pass defense! Pleased with what, we are torched by any team that can throw 10 yards forward. It’s not like we were any better with Tenuta, we had a very average defense and had NFL prospects on the defense. I have no idea how GT falls so far away from having a descent defense to a HORRIBLE defense. It’s too easy to just blame it on the coaching, but that’s really where the buck stops. When GT fields a top 10 defense then we can hope for a NC run, until then please stop it with all the NC talk. It’s just so FOOLISH!

tech football will never win a NC nor will it ever be close..not with that joke of an offense they run. in about two years you tech guys will see that with the bottom of the barrel recruits you guy will have there. tech will be lucky to win 8 games a year. with no nesbitt , dwyer, or thomas, (which were all chans recruits)tech will look like a div 2 college getting whipped year in and year out by the div 1 colleges they have to play. that includes….no div 1 prospect wanting to go to the pros, will choose techs high school offense over UGA or any other decent div 1 school…and with tech history of losing 5 or 6 games just about every year, no decent div 1 player will chance that..sorry ..it is what it is….i just hope paul johnson stays around long enough to see why all these coaches, who know how to run an offense with more than 5 plays, were telling him his offense wont work. chan gaily players are the only reason tech has won as many games as they have now..pj offense will not produce those numbers with the div 2 players he will recruit in two years. and uga will continue on whipping the bugs as usual. so enjoy this now and keep talking smack. it will make reading these blogs much more enjoyable to read when tech gets slapped around like normal by uga.

I remember watching the Jackets pushing Nebraska all over the field in Orlando in 1990. That was Dave Pasanella’s team. Dave was the Director of Strength and died in a car crash earlier that year and he is still missed by many. He got that team strong and was a great strength coach, a greater person and one of the strongest men on earth.

uga running backs will be fine they always are. they are young and getting better each game. they know more about playing running back at the next level already than techs running back. tech running backs dont know how to read defenses or block opposing defenses line backers because all they do is act like they have the ball when there qb runs around for his life..poor guys like dwyer and allen wont know what to do when they get to the pros. ha not to mention techs lone reciever who only runs the fly route..just wait until tech trys and recruits top players on the offenseive side of the ball..all they will have are div 1aa players trying hard not to get killed playing real real div 1a players..so in about 2 years maybe less since i think dwyer, nesbitt and thomas will leave early hoping to cash in..but they might be swayed to stay since they wont be ready to play at the next level. that high school offense is holding them back..i think johnson might take the notra dame job anyways since that school plays lesser talent where johnson offense will have a shot with those players that ND will have against the weaker teams they are on ND schedule. that still leaves tech with more losing season than winning..silly that you tech people are talking trash now when you guys will really get laughed at in about two years..hope you guys can take it..
