What’d you like most?

Well, the ACC’s Coastal Division is again up for grabs.

Georgia Tech’s demolition of North Carolina and Virginia Tech’s demolition of Miami means it’s a three-horse race between the Jackets, Canes and Hokies, unless the Tar Heels can somehow show more than they did on Saturday. Of course, that’s what folks were saying about the Jackets a week ago.

Here’s what makes it interesting to me: Virginia Tech couldn’t have ordered better conditions on any kind of pay weather site for its game against the Hurricanes. The rain neutralized Jacory Harris, and meant that Tyrod Taylor didn’t have to try to do anything to win the game. For all purposes, Virginia Tech is a one-dimensional team. I know what Taylor did last week against Nebraska, but those kind of plays aren’t the kind you can count on.

Now, that sets up a huge game between the Techs in a few weeks in Atlanta.

Georgia Tech stoned North Carolina’s rushing attack, just crushed it. It’ll be interesting to see how the Jackets will plan against the Hokies.

————-

But, first things first. Mississippi State is up next week, and the Bulldogs aren’t to be taken lightly. They should have beat LSU on Saturday, but couldn’t punch it in first and goal from the 3.

—————

The Jackets have got to get their kicking games issues fixed. Scott Blair seems to have lost his confidence. He missed field goals to the left and right on Saturday, as well as kicking the ball out of bounds twice.

—————

The draw play that Johnson called for Jonathan Dwyer was very effective against the Tar Hells, as was the quick pitch. Better blocking on the perimeter may have helped on the quick pitch.

————

What did you like most? Nesbitt’s toughness? Dwyer’s big game? The defense? The coaching?

Can you believe it? UGA has to kick a last second field goal to beat unranked ASU between the hedges and they move up three places in the polls. But Georgia Tech smashes UNC, a ranked team, and their reward is a 25th ranking in AP and no ranking in UP. Also, South Carolina beats #4 Mississippi, has lost only one game, barely to UGA, and they are a no-show in the polls. Are these rankers off their rocker, prejudiced or what? And, oh yeah, how about no rank for 4-0 South Florida, using a replacement for their injured and excellent quarterback, to beat ranked FSU?

Ever thought that may be it Eddie? That they find a way to win? That they don’t quit ala Tech against Miami? Ever thought of that Ed? So far this year Tech is the proverbial good time charley. Put their backs against the wall and they roll over and spread em.

I think GT is just ok, but they will still beat the dogs at the end of the year. No contest.

I agree Ed Odom. South Carolina is a top 25 team. They should definately be ranked ahead of GT.

I agree with you as well sam, SC should be ranked ahead of GT, and UGA should be behind GT.

Funny, UGA beats that powerhouse ASU, and they are ready to troll GT blogs. Got nothing better to do? Thought so.

I live in N C and any time we can beat the BLUUUUUE, I’m happy. It shuts these ignorant idiots up.Miss State is the real deal.No more Sylvester. This is a very good football team that should have beat LSU.Their coaches screwed that one up.Tech can not take them lightly or they will get their rear ends handed to them.we better go to Stakeville ready for a war because thats what we’er going to have.By way, forget the rankings….Who cares at this point. In fact, i wish we were’nt ranked.Every time we get in the polls,we lose a game.

Ed Odom – the kicker is not being ranked in the coaches’ poll but Missour is – a tema that has played Illinois, Bowling Green, Furman and Nevada. How odd they reward a team that plays that schedule versus us who have already played Miami, Clemson and UNC.

super(leg humper) – a 3 point win over ASU is not a win….remember they are the pansies from the Pac 10. I remember last week UNC defense was going to shut down this offense….they were ranked…3 – 0 was the record…this was their first ACC game and they got destroyed. Someone said if it was not for turn overs the game woudl be tied…damn…is turnovers not part of the game…most games the leg humpers play they would lose if it was not for turnovers….Dawg fans get used to it…Tech is here to stay…we will drop some but we will win most of them….

Three weeks ago…Clemson would shut us down….Two weeks ago…the U did shut us down but I think that was a fluke…last week UNC was the best D we would face and they would shut down the HS offense….superDawg…you are just an idiot..and there is no other way to say it….Go Jackets.

CPJ’ offense works and that makes everything else go. If the offense falters the defense is dead in the water.

The ranking mean nothing….most of these voters do not even look or review the games….they just mark where they think someone should be based on the past…today UGA is middle of the pack in the SEC but voters think they are a top 25 program so that is where they will keep them….How much time does a coach have to rank teams…the UP poll should be thrown out and the AP just behind it.

I’m concerned with Nesbitt carrying the ball so many times. He pretty much carried the team on the final two drives against Clemson and paid for it. He took a good number of shots against UNC and looked like he was going to break down at the end of that beautiful 8 minute drive in the 4th quarter. I’m worried about him taking too much on himself against MS State and getting knocked out of the game.

So, AZ Jacket . . . if a 3 point win for GA is not really a win . . . what does that mean for the Tech/GA game last year . . . wasn’t that by 3 points?

AZ Jacket Miami kicked you in the butt and then stuffed your entire team up Paul’s azz. Fluke? LMAO. Nothing “fluke” about a beatdown like that. I guess LSU was a “fluke” too, huh Einstein? Brace yourself buddy cause it won’t be the last “fluke” put on GT this year.

You guys continue to sound like the insecure little sister program that you are with all this outrage over the polls. I guess you mental midgets expected to jump 10 spots from outside the top 25 over a team in the top 25 that keeps winning? Are you that stupid? Maybe. But it probably goes back to that little man syndrome you mites carry around with you everyday of your lives.

And do you sissies EVER stop whining about the officiating. Week after week you girls sound like little mashed cats howling and yowling. Grow a set.

Oh, and don’t worry about the Miss State game . . . remember, the are just an SEC team . . . although, I think that LSU was last year too! This is going to be the most fun game to watch . . . I hope that everyone of you Tech bandwagon people show up to talk about it. Where have all of you been for the last oh, I don’t know, say 10 – 12 years? That’s the difference . . . even when GA is losing . . . they still sell out season tickets and have true, loyal fans . . . year after year after year. Can you say the same??? Get ready for the other bulldogs! It just might not be pretty.

Funny how last year when Tech kicks the crap out of an SEC team all you homers are waxing poetic about how they are the weak sisters, but when the same team steps up against an SEC school, its becuase you have all this parity. Tech should kick the crap out of MSU just like last year. And techbuzz, we went 3-1 against the SEC last year. Keep hoping they all turn out like LSU, but that just isn’t how it played out.

Georgia fans need to worry about their own team.
Carolina would rape ASU if they played. UNC has probably the best front 7 in the ACC and top 3 in the southeast. Arizona States’ QB complete a pass that wasn’t a screen or a dump off. Stop trying to pump up a team coming off a 5-7 season with 2 of those wins being over winless U-dub and Wazzou.
Tech had our game in hand throughout against a tough conference opponent. Georgia has still not been able to pull away from an opponent, and that includes this sorry PAC-10 bottom dweller your so proud of beating.
Tech wins 35-21, and that is because I have respect for Mullen and his staff.
