Just one more practice before it’s game week.
Let me repeat that.
That.
Just kidding.
Just one more practice before it’s game week.
And it appears a few of you are excited as well.
26,200 season tickets have been sold compared to last year’s 23,900.
And, judging from what was going on after practice on Thursday, the GTG mafia will be back this season. They were doing some of the stuff that they do at Callaway Plaza. I’ll be curious to see their final results.
—————
As you’ll see in the notes from Thursday’s practice, Roddy Jones had a new, lighter cast put on his right wrist. He said it will be on there for another week or so, and that he’s targeting the Clemson game for his return.
————–
Brad Jefferson said the linebackers are looking good, and are ready to hit somebody else beside their own teammates. I’ll have a bit more on Jefferson in Tuesday’s paper.
—————
So do you have any gameweek or gameday superstitions that you must start on Monday?

Last years Whiteout it was a little cold. I put on my regular game colors then went by Home Depot and purchaced 2 White paint smocks and put those over my clothes for the game. This year it will ce warm and no problem wearing white.
2 Chilli Cheese Dogs, order of Rings, a PC, and a Fried Peach Pie. Every Year for the first home game(going on 34 years now), Dad and I go to the VARSITY.
Dawgs talk OOC crap and they want to add ARMY and maybe Florida A&M? Help me please.
A 10% increase...

…in season ticket sales is NOT “just the beginning”. It is reflective that you play Clemson and UGA at home and those fans, like me – of THOSE two schools – bought tickets just so we could see those games. We will give the other tickets away for charity, sans the 4 hot dogs and 4 cokes!

Agree with 10% increase… I’m a UGA fan and I purchased 4. I suspect 25,000 UGA fans will be at your rat hole in late November. Tech students are shivering in their dorms worried someone will mug them and steal their new dragoncon wallet out of their fanny packs.

Since there will be so many Jawja fans at the games, maybe Tech can give out Spit-cups and pork rinds instead of the hot dogs. Maybe we can get Kleenex to sponsor the 3rd quarter. We can hand those out at the exits for all the UGA whining and crying as they leave at the end of the 3rd.

Good ole Georgia fans I promise nothing ever changes from ya’ll same material every day.
Also forgot to mention that I drink at minimum 2 newcastles before every game and text my friend on the team and get his opinion of the outcome for the game.

SEC 19-7 last 3 years.

Last year’s matchup was even between SEC and ACC. Why use 3 years of bowl games instead of the MOST RECENT data?

Guys, this is nuts – why can’t you fans buy tickets? I have season tickets this year. You other people who call yourselves “fans” better be buying tickets as well. 26k for a game is pathetic.

Rituals:
1. Wake my wife up gameday with Ramblin Wreak at house-shaking volume.
2. Call my UGA buddy and make last minute bets on the games
3. Have Jack Black handy
4. Go to Alpharetta Varsity for a box of game V-food
5. Have iTunes open to the Tech Drumline, White and Gold and Ramblin Wrek for moments during the game.

1. Wakeup to College Gameday
2. Walk over to the student center to hear the band play the best fight song in the land.
3. Sit in the Student section.
4. Watch opposing fans walk away defeated.

I’m going to gameday Sat. morning, gotta represent the home-town heros. Going to the Tech game, watching UGA start out 0-1, then try and find tickets to the VT-BAMA game, should be fun.
Go Jackets and to Hell with Georgia.

Tech fans you better get used to it. A lot of us rednecks like Paul Johnson and GT Football. To increase the fan base, welcome us who, may I say, are not as civil as what a Tech fan might be used too. Go get um Jackets!

The increase in season ticket sales was impressive in these economic times. Think you will see a much larger walk-up crown as in years past. CPJ’s teams are really worth watching. In one big way, it is what college football is all about. GT fans, be grateful you have this coach and try like hell to keep him. Go Dawgs

Game day rituals…wake up, piss on a dog, head to the bar for some urban tailgaiting, get to campus and visit some friends at their frat house and scam a beer or two, get into the stadium and cheer the brave and bold.

If you know your history, you know why so many Georgia natives bark like dogs, as opposed to donning the White & Gold. Georgia was established as a penal colony – populated with convicts by the British Empire to function as a “buffer colony” between the tobacco-rich Carolinas and the lawless / Spain controlled Florida. The toothless descendants of these convicts can be viewed in Georgia’s numerous mobile parks and packing Sanford stadium during the months of September thru November.

If you can’t get hip to the White Out vs. Clemson, you’re not a Tech fan.
I’ll be draggin’ the Weber to a midtown parking lot, grillin’ cheeseburgers while sippin some 12% beer and blasting AC/DC records.
(I’d do Makers Mark, but the GI said no more whiskey. I’ve already drank my allotment.)
UGA, good luck against OkState- you’ll need it.

I’ve never seen so much PENIS ENVY coming from the Clark County Correctional Institute…
I think deep down UGAg is scared. Scared of being 2nd best to GT. Scared of losing in the coming years. Scared they just signed Martinez to a 5 year extension. Just plain scared…. bring it on leghumpers.

Never Ever, I guess you mean Tech will Never Ever beat UGA. It just happened and it will happen OFTEN while Johnson is our couch. But to your point, every state has their percentage of toothless rednecks; Georgia simply has more than most – all of whom seem to be UGA fans. Next time you attend Sanford stadium, take a good look at the patrons and try to guess the over-under on the number of teeth in the average noggin – it will be well under 32. To claim otherwise is simply false or proves you can’t count. If the truth hurts too much, quit barking like a dog.

I live in Charleston but have season tickets, and will be attending several home games. First I have to say, I am a city boy, but I lovethe South, and Southerners. I welcome all who cheer the brave and bold, even, so called “rednecks”.
As far as gameday traditions…..For games I can’t make i back to ATL for…. Early in the week (Tues or Weds) make sure Kegerator has enough beer and c02. Refill the keg with Budweiser. Pick up a handle of Jack Black. On Saturday rally the Charleston Tech fans and start at 10 for bloody mary’s and sausage biscuits. Then move quickly to whiskey chased wth bud. Go delerious watching the Jackets with fellow football fans with Ramblin Wreck, White and Gold, and I put on for my city, being played loud and often. Of course we all funnel beer with the Budweiser song playing between the 3rd nd 4th quarters.
For the Clemson game. Wednsday evening, getting on a plane from Charleston to Atlanta. I’ll be the one with the Tech jersey drinking jack on the rocks. Get over to campus right after touching down at Hartsfield Jackson. Party with my GT and Ga State friends. Thursday, sleep in, eat a lot of good food. By 4, I’ll be down at the Frats getting sloppyand WEARING MY WHITE. See yall in the North Endzone! Cant wait. God, I love THE SOUTH. Go Jackets and To HELL WITH GEORGIA!!!

10. Mike Bobo, Georgia
BUZZ: Bobo has guided some strong units in his time in Athens. He’s good at matching his season philosophies with the talent he has on hand. Last season, he had Matthew Stafford and Knowshown Moreno. This season, it’s Joe Cox and Richard Samuel. Watch the numbers end up being close to the same
Didn’t see the Jacket’s coordinator anywhere on the list. What’s up with that?

I know for certain that there are a whole lot more important things than this, but have to know for sure. From all the pictures shown in the AJC of GT’s practices it appears this years helmets are more “OLD gold” than the putrid baby crap mustard color from last year. If this is the case, it’s great to see. I despised those things and hope to goodness that we’ve now got OLD gold. As for Chan Gailey. Kansas City, I can feel your pain……………………..
