The calm…

Just one more practice before it’s game week.

Let me repeat that.

That.

Just kidding.

Just one more practice before it’s game week.

And it appears a few of you are excited as well.

26,200 season tickets have been sold compared to last year’s 23,900.

And, judging from what was going on after practice on Thursday, the GTG mafia will be back this season. They were doing some of the stuff that they do at Callaway Plaza. I’ll be curious to see their final results.

—————

As you’ll see in the notes from Thursday’s practice, Roddy Jones had a new, lighter cast put on his right wrist. He said it will be on there for another week or so, and that he’s targeting the Clemson game for his return.

————–

Brad Jefferson said the linebackers are looking good, and are ready to hit somebody else beside their own teammates. I’ll have a bit more on Jefferson in Tuesday’s paper.

—————

So do you have any gameweek or gameday superstitions that you must start on Monday?

I agree GM… Just completed a Man Cave for the away games, & GT Baskeball games but I know I will go to all the home games and two of the away. This could be an excellent year for Georgia Tech! “The Calm before the Storm!”

Willie Martinez signed a 5 year contract extension this afternoon. The dawgs just solidified their continued last place in the SEC for defensive stats. Mark Richt said that he was very excited to have Martinez for 5 more years, but was not sure that he would be able to make it that long. He is very concerned about having to face Paul Johnson and Urban Myers every year. He doesn’t believe he will ever beat either one of them. Richt is also now worried about Auburn and Tenn, and no way in haydees can he beat the ole ball coach at South Carolina. I am so happy that I am not a red necked snaggle tooth UGA fan. It must be horrible to be humiliated in front of 80,000 rednecks.I don’t know how they park that many hunting campers at the stadium.

Oh yes. Thank you big dawg and superdawg! Thanks for your input! God knows that uga has a tough OOC schedule. This year you could lose your first and last games. Good luck OOC the rest of the way with Arizona and Tennessee Tech. Also, good luck in the SEC with Florida…and with USC east…and with Arkansas…and with LSU. Thank the good Lord that the SEC east is weak after that. Gonna be a long year doggies. Good luck! See you in November at Bobby Dodd Stadium at Historic Grant Field! :-)

Season rituals: play NCAA10 to get hyped, enjoy games with bourbon and Coke, fly 14 hours, watch Tech beat UGA; that sums it up

No superstitions needed for Jacksonville State. Just go out there and run ‘em out of the building early then empty the bench in the 2nd half. Then get ready for Clemson and get the rabbit’s feet, 4-leaf clovers, etc. out. For more information on Georgia Tech football visit: http://www.bbuzzoff.com

26,200 season tickets sold. That’s sad!!!! What happened to all this excitement in ATL over GT this year. I had season tickets for 15 years until my job moved me out to Texas. Now i’m forced to get ESPN gameplan and hope GT’s on the schedule. Your Atlanta folks need to get off your arse and get down to the Dodd!!!! Man these 8 days will be excruciating!!!! GO JACKETS!!! Got my season tickets. Got my parking pass. We will start cooking Thursday night and then make a run to the liquor store Friday after work for a fifth of JD and some airplane bottles for inside the game. Hit the campus about 9 am for a 1pm kickoff and then after the game watch the end of the UGA game on the big screen outside my buddy’s RV. Gotta love fall in the south! GO JACKETS! GO ACC!

GT4ever,

One or two more winning seasons under Johnson and you won’t be able to find a seat at BDS, even if we’re playing East Jacksonville Community College.

Just know that this year, we had a 10% increase in season ticket sales, when the economy was down. Patience.

GT is having a WhiteOut for the Thursday night game against Clemson on ESPN, be sure to spread it along so we have a better showing than we did when the weather was frigid. Sounds like UGA could use some WhiteOut to correct their media guide.

No doubt about it..It is VERY calm down here at the Tech Ticket Office. We had 3 people come in yesterday. Two were looking for the bus station, the other wanted to wash my windshield for spare change.

Things are looking up, however. This week our single game sales are jumping. I did not realize Tech had so many fans in Athens, Blacksburg, Clemson, and Chapel Hill. Wow!. It looks like we will 4 games this years with a crowd of over 35,000. This is gonna be great!

Re; Home opener vs.Jacksonville State: Order Now! Selected seats still available. That would be any seat in the upper deck, the end zones, or damn near anywhere you want to sit. Don’t forget about our “NO !, not THOSE Gamecocks!” special ticket package. 4 tickets, armed security free parking. 4 cokes, 4 hot dogs and 4 yellow wigs for $4. Call today!

Attention Carl from Anniston, Upon reconsideration, we WILL dye your wigs Jax State colors if you will buy that package. Call me 24/7!!!!

I don’t understand the white-out thing. Why not be happy to have 26,000 season ticket holders, and the beginning of a great season? Back in 1990 we did not have a hokie, that’s right, hokie white or gold night, and we seemed to turn out pretty darn good. Dump the white out idea.

So I thought I would answer the question on rituals…because I like many other fans on here Im guessing haven’t certain things that MUST be done before a game. Monday I will get to work and spend the first 30 minutes watching clips of last season (Roddy is still running)…Tuesday I will most likely talk trash to every LSU fan I can find (I work in Louisiana)…Wendesday I will have gameday attire ironed and go back a handle jack daniels…Thursday I will do barely any work and will listen to the fight song at the minimum 5 times…Friday head back to Georgia and get there in time to drink with the fraternity bro’s….Saturday wake up and start drinking screw drivers with the sound system blaring, followed by the usual whiskey and coke to the stadium….

Now that we have addressed that I thought I would address every UGA fan on here who I know you can’t read so this is the TECH site just a little FYI! I don’t even understand why you are on here talking about our game with Jack St. when ya’ll should be scared to death with a miserable defense going up against a high powered offense, with your quarterback who will show just how miserable he is, and a running back who can not even compare himself to your old running back. How about you start thinking about that before coming here trying to talk trash to us.

To Tech fans I will see you at Gameday beer is on me if you can find me and I am coherant. Go Jackets TO HELL WITH GEORGIA!!!

and also just in case you forgot ” sweep to roddy he’s at the 40-30-20-10-TOUCHDOWN as Tech stretches its lead”

Think about it this way…It gets the Indian and Asian based students (who probably don’t like football..a reason to hopefully come to the game and at least fill the seats) I know not the greatest reason but frankly we are GT and its hard to half your student body who don’t like football to get to the games.

Don’t be a snob. Go ahead, be an a$$ and wear gold to the Clemson game. I don’t know what “level” you’re talking about.

I just can’t understand why some people get their panties in a wad about the White Out. It’s called SPIRIT!!!! Our colors are old gold and WHITE. If you’re going to be a jerk about it and not wear white just to make your point, stay home and watch on TV. You’re probably one of those people who sit during the entire game and yell at anyone who stands up anyway. You make as much noise cheering and clapping at the game as a church mouse so you won’t be missed. Put on a white shirt and make some noise and watch our Jackets run all over Clemson like they did last year agains Miami.

My ritual is to go to the games and cheer on my team.

I just can’t understand why some people get their panties in a wad about the White Out. It’s called SPIRIT!!!! Our colors are old gold and WHITE. If you’re going to be a jerk about it and not wear white just to make your point, stay home and watch on TV. This has been an issue for decades. But I will say times are changing. The younger crowd just has to be more involved by buying season tickets or any game ticket and bringing their energy to the game. Tech just needs to keep on winning. But, it is the Spirit in both the fan and the player that needs to continue to elevate that will bring BDS to the level we all can be proud of. GO JACKETS!!! Get that Hardware. I did.

The “Dawgs denial” that M. Bradley mentioned yesterday is right in step with the way UGA took the score off the scoreboard last November as the clock was ticking down. I guess they didn’t want Tech fans taking any photos of the Tech 45-UGA 42 score when the game ended. True denial!!

To all of the Jacket Fans. I have a suggestion. Just post all of your comments frequently and with enthusiasm and forget about acknowledging the Dawg Poo. Serious talk Tech Football rip the Bulldogs, but never give them the satisfaction that they even exists. Don’ waste your time typing their names or answering a stupid comment that they make. Just ignore them, that is why they are here because they are looking for acceptance. Not here. GO JACKETS!!! TO HELL WITH GEORGIA!!
