No way Miami beats FSU. Last year FSU gave the game back to Miami. They fumbled on about their own 12 yard line on a bad exchange (Miami didn't cause it). They also had 2 unbelievable miscues on punts deep in their zone that Miami also did not cause. One was a snap through the end zone for a Miami saftey and the other bounced off the upback. Ponder also was hit in the end zone causing an INT while FSU was backed up on their own goal line (i'll give Miami's D credit for taking advantage of the situation) that resulted in a TD. Take all those scenarios that FSU shot THEMSELVES in the foot and that game wasn't close. What were the stats? Yes Football is Football but 8 out of 10 times stats don't lie. As far as Receivers.... FSU may even be better. Parker is gone....... he was more effective the prior year anyway and Carr was just a unique lob ball guy in the end zone. Taiwan Easterling, Bert Reed, Fortson and the TE may be better. The running backs will be better than the one man show of Antone (watch the bowl game against Wisconsin and see how well the young backs did). That O Line will really be the difference. FSU's schedule is tougher this year so it may not 'reflect it' with the W/L record, but FSU's team is better this year than last year. As far as last years game..... @ Miami.......

FSU had 27 first downs to Miami's 15. FSU rushed for 281 yards (freshman Thomas had only 2 carries for 51 yards of that total). Miami rushed for 51. Passing Yards 159 FSU and 205 for Miami (a lot of playing catch up made those). Total Yards was 440 to 256. As far as losing the top players on offense, I beleive their running backs this year will be better and as far as the receivers, both of the top receivers for FSU, in that game particularly, were Reed and Easterling by # of catches and yards. Both will be starting this year!

I agree w/ Dan. We'll lose on the road to Miami. They won't forget the -ss whopping we put on them. We'll also struggle at FSU too as payback will be on their minds as well. HOWEVER, we'll beat Clemson, UNC, and VT and finish w/ a toss up against UGA. 9-3 is fine w/ me b/c if every stays next year, 2010 should be a top 5 / National Title run. Third year's a charm.

While UM has gotten a little better under Shannon, he still has an unproven QB. Clemson did a better job after Bowden left but again they have an unproven QB and lost some good talent. VT is the on team that scares me. It all depends on Taylor. If our defense gets to him he's just another Reggie Ball. If not, the VT game may be tough. At least, we'll have a few games under our belt before the VT game. The offense should be rolling by then and the Defense should be taking shape. GO TECH!!!!!

Paddy:

I watched the whole game in 2008. FSU looked like they would CRUSH Miami, leading Miami 24-3 at half. But Miami put up 36 pts in second half and almost pulled the upset. FSU won 41-39.

FSU has lost ALL of its Offensive weapons from 2008, all the WR's and star RB Antone Smith. Only QB Ponder remains from last year. And, FSU has lost ALL but one of its defensive starters. Bad bad combination for 2009.

So, 2009 version of FSU wont be anything like its 2008 version.

Not only does Miami now have new, highly regarded OC & DC, but Miami has ALL of their Off & Def talent back from last year. Miami had a very young team in 2008. No more QB issues at Miami either.

I think Miami will be much better than last year, and FSU much worse than last year. Therefore, I see Miami getting a BIG knockout win in Tallahassee. Something like, Miami: 40 FSU: 20.

After that, everyone will jump off the FSU bandwagon.

Trade schoole junkie... I agree with most of what you posted except Miami. Think they will be the dog of the ACC this year after starting out 0-4. Just don't buy the hype coming out of South Fla. And FSU wins by 7 vs the U.

Big G, based on Tech's barely over .500 winning percentage for it's entire history, go back pre anything and then come back with that whiney little buzzing sound coming from those empty seats over at the joke by the coke.
