Sorry that I haven’t updated the blog the past few days. I thought the game-rankings blog might generate some interesting conversation, and I was glad to see it did. Thank you for taking the time to post your thoughts. It’s been entertaining reading.
I’m about to start a week’s vacation, and have been trying to come up with a topic that will allow you to talk amongst yourselves.
So, here goes:
Give me your key individual matchup for each week’s game. If you want to make it really challenging, you can’t use the same matchup twice.
Thanks, and I look forward to reading your responses.

“Great pass defense UGAY. You only allowed 19 passing yards from tech.” Maybe Doug and “Wet” Willie Martinez should have afternoon tea at Vince’s house. Give me a break Doug. You know you hated tech beating you last year.

What do you think “Huh?” does for a living? I probably shouldn’t venture a guess. He might get offended.
Doug: You seem to be doing fine to me. I doubt my opinion matters too much, though.
MyWhiskeyClear: Such disdainful language for SPSU shows only your ignorance or your age. Which is it?
Last, but not least, the most important match-up is a combination of Josh Nesbitt’s brain (reading the linebackers/safeties) and the offensive line’s blocking execution. A close second will be whoever gets the #2 receiver spot and his oponent. Without two receivers the “shoot” portion of the offense will not exist.

Doug, Not only does this not satisfy me, it is the perfect example of what I’m talking about.
You said: “This may not satisfy you, but here goes. I wanted us to do that feature last year, but others in another department, who know more about web metrics, etc. than I, weren’t sure if it would get enough traffic, so that department, which did the “Know your Bulldogs,” decided not to do the “Know your Jackets.””
That is a bunch of biased garbage, period! WHO are the “others” in “another department”??? That’s classic AJC treatment of Tech vs UGA and EXACTLY what I’m talking about. “know your Bulldogs” without a “know your Jackets” implies that everyone that reads the AJC is a UGA fan and that Tech doesn’t exist….guess again. Tech is consistently treated as a second thought at the AJC and I don’t expect that to change any time soon….too bad, the AJC misses the story…again. To Hell with UGA and to Hell with the AJC.

Ok! Group hug on the sports page…. doug is NOT our problem… as he stated, others made the decision to NOT run the ‘Know Your Tech’. Truly, if we start being the team that CPJ has begun to build, we will get plenty of press. In truth, we’re ALL excited about this upcoming season and there could NEVER be enough written about our Jackets! At least we’re not getting the press of Alabama! Sucks to be them! GO TECH!!!

I’d feel sorry for Doug and would say everybody should lay off him, BUT… He writes these short stories asking for interaction with the ‘Comments’ KNOWING what kind of garbage is going to get posted here. It never fails. Some GT fans are insane and will say what they’re going to say. Same for some UGA fans will come on here and do the same. Then other UGA fans will ‘be the bigger man’ by claiming they’re posting garbage because they saw a GT fan do it on a UGA blog. It is all a waste of time.

Attention all Techsters. I know you can’t understand this, but georgia people are too busy to hate tech. We understand what professionalism and class are about. These reasons are why Doug can report on tech. By report he reiterates the release of facts to the non-informed. Stop hating uga and get your head out of the sand. Also, stop whining about the lack of coverage and spend some quality time with loved ones. Oh, forgot, hard to love with so much hate in the heart.
Get some rest Doug, based on these previous comments, you’ll need it when CPJ’s team lays an egg this year. Phones will start ringing at Greyhound for the trip to Statesboro. I’m sure it will be your fault for lack of coverage or too much negative bias.

Concerning the books deal, all players at every institution sell their books for some spending dough. Come on guys, give these kids a break. Universities make millions off these athletes so just let them work the system. Ever heard of work study? It’s just another way for the players to have a little cash. Not everyone comes from a wealthy family that can send the kids some money to spend. Most of these guys don’t even know who their daddy is. Grow up people!

Do you remember how the ugly mutts ran the score up on Tech a few years ago when Tech was down due to coaching changes and the loss of players to academics? Could this be the year when Tech returns the favor, in spades? I sure enough hope so, pay back in kind is the best kind of revenge.

Doug,
The interviews were a step in the right direction. I suggest you add a few more with different players and maybe a coach or two.
I don’t blame you for the AJC’s crappy coverage of Tech. Most Tech fans get their news online, and most of UGA’s sidewalk alumni still subscribe to the dying media that is the fishwrapper. It makes economic sense to hype UGA. Keep up the good fight as long as you keep this job.
To Tech fans,
The AJC doesn’t care about Tech and you should just get over it. Why? Because the AJC is losing money hand over fist. Moore has already received the boot, more are sure to follow. This POS fishwrapper is on it’s last legs. Sit back and watch the implosion.

This is my first time posting on here and i think it is so funny that the DaWg fans have to come over here and still think the can Actually bother us with there same ol’ stuff they have been saying for the last 7 years…guys its time to wake up….WE WON! lol and nothing is going to stop us from doing it again this year…your only players worth anything on your team split the first chance they got…so what are you going to do? Its about time that GA gets to sit scratching their heads for a while trying to remember why they are a fan of the team they root on. (That is other than getting to be a part of the cesspool of the south.) And yall really wanna talk about how bad OUR fans our. Lets just put it this way…other than yall, our fellow competitors still respect us. There isnt a fan of another team who even remotely likes yall. They hate yall. Why you ask. Because your fans are ignorant. Plan and simple. So uGAY needs to look at there own trashy fans before calling us out. Oh by the way…please wait until our game to break those wonderful black jerseys out again…They did yall so well against Bama that you may just need the luck….

This rag of a papaer is really showing its true colors today. Tech had a major haul in recruits over the weekend and no report of it. This paper does stink. To the editor of the sports section you are worthless. I seriously do believe that if the great uga reeled in three of its top recruits, the story would be on the front page. I guess we know now why this butt wiper of a papaer is soon to go away.

The Dude, your answer is simply ‘neither.’ I’m plenty old, and have had enough experience hiring grads of SPS”U” that I can safely say I have no respect for that school. May have been started as Tech’s night school in the nineteen forties, but there is NO family resemblance anymore. Low ambition kids that didn’t get into Tech and are too scared of Auburn or Clemson is all I’ve seen there. And you think some UGA kids hate Tech? Take a look at the chip on these kids’ collective shoulder. Pure jealousy. Hire a hornet? Never again.

Oh, and the ‘factory workers’ stab was because they don’t produce “engineering technologists”…they’re just uncertified mechanics that took a math class (a slow, easy math class).
My conclusion after working with them is that the worst slacker in any one of Tech’s student organizations is more squared away than the Southern Poly kids I’ve seen. Which makes sense…they didn’t get in.

You ugag fans who keep referring to the “we’ll let you win one out of eight games” line, keep in mind that Tech isn’t going to have CPJ as their coach one year out of every eight. He beat ugag in his very first year with inherited (mostly non option recruited) talent. Each year the system is in place, Tech will only get better and better as the players learn the nuances of the offense, and with CPJ picked option talent eventually on the roster top to bottom. With all this in mind, any reasonable fan would conclude that, at least as long as CPJ is the coach at Tech, ugag will have it’s hands full with Tech. It is predictable. That isn’t trash talk. It is logic. You smart dawg fans know it. You dumb ones will come back with trash. That is also predictable.

Lucky for us that UGa is no LSU. Second-tier? They have actually won a national title in the last 20 years, which is more than Uga can say.

UGA is the only team with injuries, and Joe Cox will beat the Gators this year. Joe Cox is exactly like Shockley except he’s white, slow, weaker arm, and hasn’t done anything but beat a 2-10 Colorado team at home! Plus I heard that Cox got some of that Stafford magic while they spooned at Dega! UGA is number one! Caleb King and Joe Cox for Heisman!
