This will be a short blog, but hopefully will generate a lot of comments.
It’s June, so things are winding down. The only thing left in the 2008-09 college season for Georgia Tech is track and field, which has a few chances to win individual titles.
There have been several notable achievements by Tech’s teams: beating Georgia in football, winning a game in the ACC men’s basketball tournament, the softball team winning a regional, etc, just to name a few.
What are your favorite memories from this past year. Let’s go ahead and assume beating Georgia is at top of everyone’s list.
What was your favorite moment and why was it your favorite moment?

How bout then dawgs.. I think the Jackets will beat them next year with Dwyer having 200 yards. Boy, he has a great SMILE, and fills them pants out well. But, anyway, georgia will lose 4 games. Bye, Bye

That baseball team is for real. Year after year they are in it eventually they will bring the bacon home. When I watch the Yankees or the Red Sox to name a few or the all star game and see alumni playing from Tech I am pretty proud.
In football we have gone from Joe Six Pack to at least the elite 20 in the country. We were a team that had bought into mediocrity, I see it all the time in real life. It is not the winning CPJ brings to the table it is the character, that stuff guys like Curry and Gailey only talk about, CPJ never mentions yet it in there for all to see. I listened to Gardener the offensive lineman drafted by Miami on the radio the other day and he sounded better than most coaches. He was articulate thoughtful with his comments. Tech has kept it values and now is proving you can win in that stable too. Great year for my Jackets!!!

WE cant get rid of Hewitt for a while—costs more to buy him out than Gomer Gailey,–due to the success of the National Championship game. But, Hall can be replaced at no “big” costs. Have to agree with SOUMISSMAN, GT preseason, top 10 every year, due to recruiting–but in regionals, Hall chokes.

Danny Hall can’t do everything. The players still have to play, and they didn’t. It was a mistake leaving Deck in, yes, and perhaps he did cost us that game, but Saturday was not his fault. And this is a guy who constantly takes us to the playoffs every year. I have no problem with Danny Hall. None. I think we as Tech fans are getting greedy.

I don’t know how you can say that Gailey is worse than Hewitt, m. I’m glad Gailey is gone and Johnson is here, but Gailey never had a losing season. Hewitt has had 3 in the last 4. Gailey never had a losing ACC record, Hewitt was 2-14.
Thanks to Dave Braine, we may be paying them both not to coach this time next year.

Huh?, you pull for one of the biggest ‘bandwagon’ teams I’ve EVER seen and you’re going to talk about bi-polar personalities?! When the leg humpers are winning, your little friends put on all their mutt gear and run around, as in a trance, “how ’bout them dawgs”?! When the pups are losing, you can’t hardly find anyone outside of athens wearing their uga gear! Don’t go around acting like the turd eaters are ANY more gracious in their losses. You don’t have to go back VERY far to see it….I’m thinking Nov. would be a good place to check…you guys were SO silent on these boards and when you DID get back on, all you could cry was about injuries and ‘questionable’ officiating! A little whining, if you will! GO TECH!!!

My fav Ga. Tech moment?? Hmmmm, how about the Tech student being charged w/ conspiring against the government of the United States of America??? The athlete who sold a few pounds of marijuana while his son was in the van carrying said marijuana is nice too. Of course i’m sure all of you Techies enjoyed those tickle pile parties at ‘Swinging Richards,’ especially after finally beating UGA this millenium.

As a Nole fan in Atlanta and having to put up with listening to the most obnoxious fans in all of college sports, it made my night to see Southern Miss beat tech. Tech fans are so delusional that they don’t realize the rest of the world laughs at them. All they do is try to make fun of UGA and all it is is envy. Tech will never be known for sports like the major sports program of UGA or FSU. The tech win last year over UGA was once in 8 years and like a blind squirrel finding a nut. LSU put them in their place and I was there in the dome to see it. It’s always fun to see tech choke, even if they are in the ACC.

Poetic justice was served last night. I am a Southern Miss alum, but grew up in metro Atlanta (even attended Tech baseball camps). And this past weekend has rejuvenated my hatred for you Techies. I’ve never been around such sensitive dorks in my life. I usually avoid confrontation while attending games, but I’ve never had such a group of babies get offended of my cheering my own team. So y’all enjoy your ugly women and bucket hats this offseason. And thank you for allowing me a reason to root for UGA this season.

My amusement, is that ALL of you fans of other teams on OUR blog…I’m recognizing that ALL of your teams LOST to us in football THIS past season. I recognize the threat you all see in this new regime at Tech…it’s cool…you had your seasons in the sun and now all you see is the moon of the Yellow Jackets! I spent all day out on the beach today….what did you do supperDawg? Other than troll around on Tech’s blog? Wipe your chin again, there’s some more ignorance dribbling down it! GO TECH!!! AGAIN!!! My dear little grinch, thank you for the complimentory recognition of my capitalization. I DO post on other teams blogs, but you will NOT find a single negative comment made by me on other teams blogs. I ONLY respond to pertinent articles like Erk Russell for the Hall and such. I was recruited by him and feel it is a SHAME that he isn’t in it. I also supported CMR’s dilemma over visiting one of his recruits graduation. If that’s garbage, then take it back up to your little hole in the mountain and try to steal someone elses Christmas…you’ll NEVER get mine! GO TECH!!! (You know? The team with multiple national championships! Owners of THE STREAK! The team that began a NEW streak this past season!) BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! No, thinking Erk should be in the hall of fame and CMR should have been allowed to attend a young man’s graduation is not talking garbage. HERE is what I was referring to, and I’m quoting you:
“When the leg humpers are winning, your little friends put on all their mutt gear and run around, as in a trance, “how ’bout them dawgs”?!”
“Don’t go around acting like the turd eaters are ANY more gracious in their losses.”
Perhaps these are Pulitzer quality remarks from the yellow jacket nation, but I view them as garbage.

I have two favorite Tech memories from this past year:
1. Georgia Southern beating Tech in baseball 23-3 in Atlanta.
2. Tech finally agreeing to play Georgia Southern in football (2015). The Yellow Jackets have been denying us an opportunity to play them for 26 years despite playing almost every other member of our conference. I guess they had to wait until they had a former Georgia Southern coach in place before they felt the odds would be in their favor.

So now the magic number is 8? Okay, is this the same number as those “academically superior” basketball student-athletes that failed to meet the minimum apr, thus embarrassing tech, the ACC, and costing you two scholarships? Or is 8 the number of players that O’Liary played during 3 seasons who were academically eligible? Or better yet, if 8 the IQ of the 300lb “academically superior” student-athlete who once beat up the pizza girl? If memory serves me correct, the goon didn’t even draw a suspension. Academic superiority…..BWAHAHAHAHA!!
Be careful about calling attention to the speck in someone else’s eye if you have a plank in yours.

Correction Scott. The highlight was the 3rd quarter against Georgia. Tech got their teeth kicked in to the tune of a 42-19 score in the other 3 quarters. They might as well have put “3rd Quarter” on those commemorative rings instead of advertising the fact that they gave up 42 LEGITIMATE OFFENSIVE points (ie. no gift turnovers deep in opposing territory like we gave them).
Sure Techies, you won the game. No doubt about that. Does it mean we’re jealous of the 9-4 Chicken Bowl runner ups? Not in a million years. Does it mean we now respect you? No more than we respected freaking Vandy after they pulled a fluke win out their butts against us a few years back. For the record, they made no rings. Dismissed.

My favorite moment was coming back to beat UNC in baseball. To all the UGAG fans on here whatever happened to not caring about tech and focusing on florida? Was it the fact that we dominated you in every sport? Say congrats to your men’s tennis team as that’s the only damn one to beat us. To all southern Miss fans yes you did win the regional and congrats but can you tell me how it feels to have the umps in your back pocket. There was a point in the 2nd inning when it was 4-3 with two out and bases loaded and the ump did not call strike 3 which would have ended the inning. Then 2 innings later he called strike 3 against tech when the ball bounched off the freaking plate. Whatever it is you will not come back anytime soon and anytime we play you again it will be for vengeance and you won’t have a chance.
