More on UGA-Tech

Quotes from coach Danny Hall, following last night’s 7-5 loss to Georgia at Turner Field:

On the game:

“I thought it was a good ballgame. I was pleased that we came from behind and felt like we were in good position to take the lead there in the eighth. But he struck Rowland out, made a good pitch on him. And then their guy (Poythress), he about hit one out of here. Rowland was supposed to catch it but couldn’t quite catch it. I didn’t want Massanari to beat us. That guy, I think, is a clutch hitter. I felt like we needed to walk him. And then Allen got a hit and we made the error at third.

“Credit them, they were able to get hits when they got guys in scoring position. We struggled a little bit with that.”

On the pitching:

“We wanted to start von Tersch. He’d been a starter for us. We took him out of the rotation last weekend. And we wanted to see how he’d respond. I thought he responded well. And then after that we were just mixing and matching, trying to match righties with righties and lefties with lefties. It felt like in the end we had one of our better bullpen guys in tyring to keep it in check and keep the score tied. Wasn’t able to do it tonight, but give Georgia credit. Theyy got the hits when they needed them.”

On the throwing error in the ninth, charged to  Jeff Rowland, which allowed the second run to score:

“Rowland made a pretty good throw. It got away and went into the dugout. That’s baseball. It happens.”

On what’s next:

“We go on the road tomorrow and play Duke, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. We got to regroup mentally and have a good response to getting beat here tonight.”

Yes UGA dawg fans celebrate. The difference between UGA and GT is we are going to play for the championship…while the dawgs can celebrate their near miss of the sweep by the jackets. Have fun watching GT in the championship game dawgs…

If UGA is in the same regional you will not be playing for any championship. UGA has knocked tech out the last three times they played in the tournment your coach cannot coach the big game just like last night. UGA home away from home Turner Field

That is the worst I have seen Tech play all year…and we still almost won. We have a great shot at winning the ACC, and our regional. GO Jackets!

Uh, ‘big game just like last night’? Get real, last night’s game was no bigger than a game against Presbytarian or Western Carolina or the UGA-GT game last month for that matter. During the regular season the only big games teams play are in-conference games.

First, I must start by saying, good game, and contrags to the dogs. they really outplayed us in this game. if a few more things went our way, we might have stood a chance to win. I hope we can clinch our regional championship, but if UGA is in the same region…..we are DONE! they prove to be better in the clutch, have more experience than our boys do in the big games, and I think, a better coach that does not choke in big game situations. HUGE Tech fan here, but I must honestly say, I really fear the dogs in the next round.

Southside mutt

I think he is referring to the ACC Championship, umm UGA is in the SEC so it would be hard to knock them out of anything, my god you UGA terds are amazing…I love checking out these blogs to see what non-sense you puppies put out, and as for anotherdawg unless you have been around since 1898 and been to all the games spare me the series record, people who live in the past are losers. Yeah you guys owned the Gators in the 70’s and 80’s so good for you, oh look what does that get you now…NOTHING.

#1 Tech Fan, I realize you are just speaking your mind on a blog. But, Come on!! You do realize we rocked UGA on the home field a month earlier, right? Tech has looked pretty strong all season long. UGA has only won 3 games out of the last 11. I am really tired of pansy azz tech fans like you. Oh, and congrats to the DAWGS last night. They wanted the game and beat us on what I thought was a well officiated game. They looked good! However, I am not going to shell up into a corner somewhere and consider us “DONE” like the #1 Tech pansy.

Good Word – I am not going to shell up into a corner, but look at the comparisons with Tech and uga…yeah we beat them at home a month or so ago, but I have a feeling that this is what the pups needed to get the confidence going again, and you as well as all of us Tech fans know, when the pups are on, they are dangerous. that’s all I am saying. I really, REALLY hope that they are not in the same regional as us, and if not, we stand a VERY good chance of winning our regional…..but if they are inserted into the same regional with us….things may get ugly. Just an honest opinion from an honest Tech fan!

To all UGAY fans, don’t you realize that this game was meaningless to Tech? Our goal is to win the ACC championship and secure a top 8 national seed to host the NCAA regional and get to the CWS. Besides, we’d already beaten you in Athens this year in baseball (10-6) and football (45-42) and in Atlanta in basketball (67-62). So the debate for dominance in ‘08-’09 is over. TECH RULES!!!

Wait, who should be more nervous here? What has Joe “likes” Cox shown you except that he can drink water really good and keep a seat warm. Does Willie Martinez scare you? He had an extra week to prep for our offense and still gave up over 400 rushing yards (this year…no extra week to prep for Willie). There are two key items missing from UGA that scored a hell of a lot of points. A star QB and a star RB. You also lost a big time receiver in Momass…(AJ Green is not the next Calvin Johnson by the way…sorry…not even close). So keep hiding behind fake screen names acting like you’re a Tech fan…cause this year…I’d rather be a Tech fan too if I were you…
