New Georgia State depth chart released; Weidenaar released

The Georgia State depth chart was released this weekend ahead of the season opener against South Carolina State on Thursday at the Georgia Dome.

The one big surprise here is Joe Peterson slotted as the No. 1 inside linebacker. Also, sophomore David Miller beat Matt Ehasz for the place-kicking job, but Wil Lutz is going to handle kickoffs.

So, if you want to peruse this and send any more questions for Monday’s mailbag, please do so.

Also, please check out the college football preview section that appeared in today’s paper.

Weidenaar kicked off team

Mark Weidenaar has been dismissed from Georgia State’s football team for violating team rules.

Weidenaar, a freshman from Lakeside High in Augusta, was a fourth-string quarterback. He was indefinitely suspended from the team earlier this week.

I am pleasantly surprised to see a freshman in the line up. Also, I know that we compare chuck Norris to the Donald, and chuck is trying to measure up, but I am ready to see some Parris Lee! He is gonna be smoking hot in the backfield. Also, FIRST.

Also, we ARE GONNA get the big green weenie from NCAA on our transferees. You can take that to the bank. We are going to have an involuntary intimate encounter, without a kiss or lube.

Lookin’ good. Surprises are a good thing, that means some kids got their act together and are playing the way they should.

Sucks about Weidenaar. I had high hopes for him as he was talked up as an under the radar guy.

I think that Bill Curry dismisses more players than the offense scores points!
This dismissal craze fro Curry is a bit much if you ask me…but no one did?

I agree with the comment about Curry dismissing players. Never any detail about it other than “violation of team rules”. Are we talking curfew, drinking, something else? What gets some off the team and others suspended indefinitely. very strange…
