Dexter Moody has been indefinitely suspended from Georgia State’s football team for violating team rules.
Moody, a 6-foot, 2-inch, 210-pound linebacker, had 65 tackles last year.
Moody played inside linebacker last year but was being moved to the “wolf” position in the 4-2-5 scheme the defense is switching to this year.
Moody played at Emanuel County Institute, where he committed to Georgia. However, he never got to play in Athens because his scholarship was revoked by coach Mark Richt.
Moody eventually enrolled at a community college in Kansas, before he enrolled at Georgia State.
He was withheld from a start last season for a violation of team rules.
He will be a redshirt junior in the fall.

Won’t be much of a loss at all considering he never contributed and is pretty much a locker room cancer. Waste of talent.

Not a huge surprise… pretty sure he’s already received his second chance. Waste of a talent for sure…

This kid has amazing talent. He should realize he’s hurting himself just as much as the team.

Is this, counting high school, now the third time he has screwed up? What a waste. He could have been a beast in this new defense but was reportedly getting beat out by a walk on.

He does not realize how good he has it until the coaches strip it away. All you can do is shake your head in disappointment and hope he gets it together.

This young man needs to get his life together. He truly does not know how many people would kill to be in his position… you’re going to school FOR FREE. You also get FREE housing… what more can a student ask for?! If he doesn’t make considerable improvement, his scholarship must be revoked and given to someone who is more deserving. You never realize what you have until it’s gone forever…

Great talent. I hope this promising young man learns from his mistakes. Use this as fuel, and take it out between the lines. Best of luck sir. Go Panthers, bleed blue.

Maybe someone “walked up on him” like his high school teacher did… at least when he is 30 he can google his name to remember his glory days and what might have been. Then he’ll have to get back to the plant for third shift with hopes that he can get overtime this week. Kids need braces you know

Again, I’m glad to see that GSU won’t tolerate poor behavior from anyone whether it’s Drew Little or Dexter Moody. This is a good standard to set in the long run for our program. I hope the best for him and that he gets his collective stuff together.

I have to agree with SimpleDawg…too bad that kids can’t see the long term repercussions from their actions and will have to learn the hard way, oh well, life goes on

What about Coach Hunter’s conduct down at Mercer recently? Is GSU tolerating that?
