Kincaid promoted to softball coach

Roger Kincaid, who led Georgia State’s softball team to the 2011 CAA title as the interim coach, has been named head coach.

Kincaid, a native of Decatur who played football at Georgia, took over the program on an interim basis on Feb. 21 after Bob Heck stepped down. He guided the Panthers to a 31-20 record, including a 15-5 mark in CAA play. The Panthers defeated Hofstra to win its first Colonial Athletic Association title. Kincaid has been on the staff since 2008.

Congrats Coach! Only two starters lost from the 2011 team. Let’s get another CAA title in 2012.

An obvious choice. He really pulled through last season and made it happen. Couldn’t be happier.
