Georgia State will take on Georgia
Georgia State’s softball team will play Georgia at 5 p.m. Friday in Athens in the NCAA regional.
The Panthers (36-23) qualified for the tournament by winning the CAA championship. It is Georgia State’s second appearance in the NCAAs.
The Bulldogs are the top seed. Also in the field are Florida State and UAB.
The schedule:
Friday
2:30 p.m. Game 1: UAB vs. Florida State
5 p.m. Game 2: Georgia State vs. Georgia
Saturday
Noon Game 3: Winner Game 1 vs. Winner Game 2
2:30 p.m. Game 4: Loser Game 1 vs. Loser Game 2
5 p.m. Game 5: Winner Game 4 vs. Loser Game 3
Sunday
Noon Game 6: Winner Game 3 vs. Winner Game 5
2:30 p.m. Game 7 (if necessary): Winner Game 6 vs. Loser Game 6

A game against UGA is just the chance our team needs to prove that they are beyond everyone’s expectations. A win over UGA would be a phenomenal thing for the team and the rest of our athletics program. It’s college sports, so anything goes. You never know, the Panthers might just surprise all of us.
