Georgia State’s softball team topped the honorees at the CAA awards banquet in New York.
Nine Panthers were honored, including pitcher McCall Langford (first team), pitcher Kaitlyn Medlam (rookie of the year) and Roger Kincaid (co-coach of the year).
Medlam went 9-2 with a 1.68 ERA. Langford went 13-10 with a 1.71 ERA. Kincaid took over early in the season and led the team to a 15-game conference win streak. The second-seeded Panthers (32-22) open the conference tournament on Wednesday against Towson.

Thanks for covering the softball team Doug! Tremendous job by Coach Kincaid after Coach Bob Heck’s sudden retirement.
The team went 27-17 under Kincaid’s guidance. Big one today. Let’s Get It!

It’s pretty impressive that a coach can pick up part way through a season and still come out with such a good record and seed in the CAA tournament. Were in a good place right now with all of GSU athletics, and things are certainly on the upswing.

Great win today. 3-2 in 12 innings. We live to fight another day. Game tomorrow at Noon vs. #1 Hofstra.
