Dooly County at Lincoln County

When, where: 7:30 p.m. Friday, Buddy Bufford Field, Lincolnton

Records, rankings: Dooly County is 10-2, the No. 5 seed and unranked; Lincoln County is 11-1, the No. 1 seed and ranked No. 4.

Last meeting: Lincoln County won 34-8 in the 1998 Class A quarterfinals.

Three things to know: 1. Lincoln County RB Mike McIntire is the focus of his team’s offense with 1,315 yards rushing and 18 touchdowns, the most for a Red Devil since 2008, but QB Ben Jones had a big game in the quarterfinal victory over Wilkinson County, passing for 232 yards. He has thrown for 1,348 yards on the season. WR Jalen Franklin caught eight passes for 128 yards against Wilkinson. 2. Dooly County QB A.J. Smith threw for a season-high 291 yards and four touchdowns in the 34-27 victory over Seminole County last week. Smith has thrown for 1,920 yards on the season. Greater Atlanta Christian at Jefferson

When, where: 7:30 p.m. Friday, Memorial Stadium, Jefferson

Records, rankings: Greater Atlanta Christian is 10-3, the No. 2 seed from Region 6-AA and ranked No. 9; Jefferson is 12-1, the No. 1 seed from 8-AA and ranked No. 7.

Last meeting: Greater Atlanta Christian won 34-19 in the 1999 regular season.

Three things to know: 1. The three headline-makers on GAC’s offense are RB Kyle Scales (1,311 yards rushing, 21 touchdowns), WR Peter Whiteneck (53 catches, 906 yards, 12 TD) and QB Rafe Chapple (144-236 passing, 2,279 yards, 25 TD). GAC is outstanding in the kicking game with punter Ross Wood (42.0 average) and place-kicker Brandon Holzgrefe (10-for-10 on field goals, including the game-winner in the quarterfinals against Early County). 2. Jefferson QB Bryant Shirreffs went over 2,000 yards passing on the season in a 53-51 victory over Fitzgerald in the quarterfinals. There were many stars in that game.
