Stanley, Queen lead West to 38-7 win in Georgia Junior Bowl

Jayson Stanley of Creekside caught two long touchdown passes and North Cobb quarterback Tyler Queen was 12-of-20 passing for 138 yards and had a hand in two touchdowns Tuesday to lead the West team to a 38-7 victory over the East in the AT&T Georgia Junior Bowl at Grady Stadium.

The game is a showcase for some of Georgia’s better high school juniors. Queen has committed to Auburn. Stanley is uncommitted, but his stock is rising.

Stanley had 41 receptions for 817 yards and 16 touchdowns for Creekside’s Class AAAAA championship team. He caught a 77-yard TD pass in the state championship game against Tucker.

In the all-star game, Stanley had a 47-yard TD reception from Queen and a 70-yard TD catch from Lorenzo Nunez of Harrison.

Rodrigo Blankenship of Sprayberry made three field goals for the West.

Who selects the players for these games? High school coaches, the media, recruiting services, who??

Jayson Stanley was no joke yesterday. He’s been no joke all year…..catch up recruiting circles.

BTW – Queen was average at best. He misses way more throws than he made. The Nunez kid hit Stanley in stride on the 77yd TD.

Compare their season films and then tell me that. Nunez is a better athlete but Queen is by far the better qb. Ask Nunez about the last time he played against NC. He had more picks than completions.

Uh, yeah Nunez threw a 77 yard td. He also had three other completions for a whopping 8 yards total.

When Queen and Nunez faced off Queen had 3 Td’s and didnt have to put much effort in this game. Nunez had 2 Td’s to the NC DB, the same kid had two more INT and another that was taken away buy a bogus call. Nunez is probably the better athlete and has a good arm. However he cant read a defense and it not all accurate.

Queen was off on some throws During the Rising Senior game but the throws he missed where also after avoiding free rushers and was under pressure. He was still 12-20 with i know of three throwaways. So overall i say it was a pretty good day. So Stringer try again, the tape dont lie

This must be the Cobb contingent…..Queen is not nearly as good as pumped up to be….move the new Tebow to LB already….plus I never said Nunez was better, I only said he hit Stanley in stride, so keep your panties on. The punching bags alongside 75N don’t count.

Time will tell…..but the Colquitt tape doesn’t lie.

I guess Auburn, North Carolina and a host of other D1 schools don’t know as much as the experts on blogs. It’s funny how if you listen to the blog geniuses Queen sucks. Whatever! The guy committed as a Sophomore so I’ll take their evaluations over yours. lol

Stringer so you are going to ignore a 3 year body of work and say the Colquitt tape doesn’t lie. Tell me what other school had 185 pound offensive lineman? North Cobb went to final four last year, graduated most of skill players and lineman and still advanced in the playoffs. Colquitt was a bowling ball that would’ve demolished most. It’s hard to throw with 3 defensive lineman hanging from your arm. It’s ok if you don’t like Queen, many don’t but this little school in Alabama that’s playing for the Natl Championship likes him. You may have heard of them. lol

He will go to Auburn and sit the bench under Nick and Johnson until someone else moves in and then he will opt to transfer or switch positions. Queen is the most overrated QB of the crop. Buyer beware…..

Nothing wrong with going to Auburn and running scout team……

The queen kid has a nice arm( I use the word nice ) at best he is a D2 qb not tall enough for a kid who is not athletic at all. He was wise to take the Auburn offer I doubt he even signs with AU I bet they pull the offer. No way he fits the AU OFF. I am not an AU fan . BOBO did not offer the kid for a reason > he looks like a delta state QB maybe a north Alabama

Some ignorant fools up in here

@Stringer Bell
He runs the exact same system that AU runs now. He’ll be fine and run them to perfection.

@The Real Johnny footbal
The kid is almost 6′3 and can sling it all over the field. And has already been said he runs the EXACT same offense as AU. I’m a UGA fan myself and I’m jealous we didn’t get this kid. But keep on hating or trolling. Either way you’re worthless when it comes to football knowledge.

Queen is a smart kid and works his tail off. He has the dedication and fortitude that he needs to be successful at the next level. 8 years ago, he was a little chunky kid on the sidelines watching and dreaming. Trust me, he has earned everything he has. HE made that decision. Tyler has taken North Cobb football to heights unheard of in this community. He’s everything we all wish we ourselves were, and hope our sons will be. For anyone to say otherwise is in denial, and actually needs to take a good long look at themselves.

Press on, Tyler. You are truly a Warrior.
