A competitive seventh-place game saw Tevin Henry lead Creekside to victory with his game-high 20 points. Devon Hart kept Langston Hughes close the whole way by scoring 19 points.
Tri-Cities 107, Morrow 106
The fifth-place game stole some of the show with 213 combined points between Tri-Cities and Morrow in a double-overtime thriller. Emmanuel Rainey poured in 48 points to help Tri-Cities survive the shootout. Morrow was led by DeMarkus Loman’s 28.
Westlake 54, Jonesboro 51
Tyler Williams scored 16 points as Westlake edged Jonesboro for the title. Jonesboro was led by James Walker, who also finished with 16 points.
Blount (AL) 58, Fayette County 48
Kayla Smith led all scorers with 20 points to help Blount from Alabama earn fifth-place honors. Fayette County got 17 points from Tyler Phelion.
Forest Park 55, Grady 42
Tiffany Wilson scored 17 points as Forest Park finished in seventh place at the tournament. Grady’s Naria Woods had 15 points.
Norcross 49, Southwest Atlanta Christian 48
Balanced scoring attacks for each team ultimately led to a one-point win for Norcross, which took home third-place honors, got a game-high 12 points from Sierra Butler. Marquita Daniels and Amy Griffin both scored 11 for Southwest Atlanta Christian.
Tucker 48, Westlake 44
Naima Jackson scored 17 points to lead Tucker to the title, while Erykah Davenport was named tournament MVP. Anriel Howard scored 17 for Westlake
Sat., Dec. 21
Westlake 58, Fayette County 56: Tyler Williams scored 20 points and had eight rebounds while Raymond Saunders had 12 and eight as the host Lions rolled into the tournament finals. Westlake trailed throughout the first half before taking a 29-27 lead into the break.
Tucker 52, Norcross 48: Tucker trailed by 12 at the half and as mangy as 19 in the second quarter, but held Norcross to three points in the third quarter to climb back into the game. Nuba Jackson hit two 3-pointers in the final three minutes for the Tigers. Jackson finished with 12 points and Erykah Davenport scored 16. Najla Shamsid-Deen added 13 for Tucker.
Friday, Dec. 20
Grady 66, Tri-Cities 55: The Grey Knights were paced past Tri-Cities with sophomore Avi Toomer’s game-high 21-points. Toomer added four rebounds and was joined on the boards with teammate Tyrius Walker, who stuffed the stat sheet with six rebounds to go with his 10 points, five assists and three steals. Marcus Sims added 17 points and three steals in the post.
Tucker 58, Bount (Ala.) 48: Senior Erykah Davenport scored a game-high 15 points. Tucker moves to 9-2 on the season.
