Allatoona 59, Vestavia Hills (Ala.) 36: The Bucs advanced to the semifinals of the 12th annual Bellinis Jaguar Classic in Birmingham, Ala. with a dominating defensive effort. Vestavia Hills scored in single digits the first three quarters and Allatoona took a comfortable 33-15 lead into the half. Daniel Fowler led Allatoona with 18 points, eight rebounds and four steals. The Bucs will face Columbia (Ala.) at 6 p.m. on Saturday.

Athens Academy 75, Oglethorpe County 74 (2OT): Junior point guard Eric Williams had a game-high 39 points and a memorable night pacing the Spartans. Williams hit a runner in the lane with nine seconds left in regulation to force overtime and in the extra period sunk a long 3-pointer to force double overtime. Williams scoring outburst put him over 1,000 points for his career

Campbell 63, Riverdale 56: The Spartans were led by sophomores Mike Olmert and Laz Walker and advanced to the second round of the Henry County Christmas Tournament at Henry County High School. Walker was the leading scorer with 25 points and Olmert stuffed the stat sheet with 18 points, eight assists and six rebounds. Campbell never trailed, but took a tight 29-28 lead into halftime. The Spartans will face Westside, Macon on Saturday at 5:30 p.m..

Grady 66, Tri-Cities 55: Sophomore Avi Toomer paced Grady with game-high 21-points and added four rebounds. Grey Knights teammate Tyrius Walker stuffed the stat sheet with 10 points, six rebounds, five assists and three steals. Junior Marcus Sims added 17 points and three steals in the post.

Greater Atlanta Christian 83, North Florida Christian 37: The Spartans hosted out-of-state North Florida Christian and remain unbeaten with their 9-0 mark this season. Cam Boyd was the leading scorer with 19 points and Justin Lewis and Isaiah Wilkins each scored 14. GAC took a 43-25 lead into the half and outscored the Eagles 40-12 after intermission.

Whitefield Academy 82, South Shore (Fla.) 70: The two Wolfpack big men dominated and got Whitefield Academy ahead 49-35 at the Half. 6-foot-6 senior Eric Lockett finished with a game-high 28 points and 6-foot-7 junior Courtney Alexander added 19 points.

Woodward Academy 92, Southwest Atlanta Christian 62: Six War Eagles reached double figures and senior Denzel Banks led the way with 15 points. Trey Williams added 13 points and junior teammate Marcus Hall notched a double-double with 13 points and 10 boards.


Buford 54, Banks County 33: The Wolves improved to 6-1 overall and 2-0 in region play with their win. Buford’s Corey Staples led all scores with 16 points. Staples was the only Buford scorer in double digits but a total of 11 Wolves scored baskets. Taylor Kennedy led Banks County with 10 points.

Greater Atlanta Christian 61, Chapel Hill 36: The Spartans topped Chapel Hill in the Carrollton Christmas Tournament and advanced to face Carrollton on Saturday at 6 p.m. Sydni Means led the Spartans with a game-high 19 points and teammates Brianna Cummings and Lexi Mann scored 18 and 17 points, respectively.

Washington County 54, Creekside 41: Host Washington County took a 28-17 halftime lead before securing the win and advancing to face Monroe-Albany in the Washington County Christmas Classic on Saturday. Golden Hawks senior Shonterria Kitchens led all scorers with 18 points.

Wesleyan 62, Brookwood 30: Freshman Mikayla Coombs led the Wesleyan defense with 13 steals as the Wolves stifled Brookwood. Coombs added 16 points and was joined in double figures by teammate Nikki McDonald who finished with 14 points. Devyn Lowe dished out six assists and grabbed eight rebounds.

Woodward Academy 53, Wesleyan 51: The host War Eagles were tied 51-51 with three seconds remaining and were inbounding the ball under Westminster’s basket. Senior Alexandria Williams took the inbounds pass and ran coast to coast with it, scoring a game-winning floater as time expired. Woodward trailed by as many as 12 points and took a 23-20 deficit into the half before rallying for the win.

Great job ajc, Wesleyan girls played twice tonight……….Beat Brookwood and lost to Woodward

Should be a very good game tonight GAC vs North Cobb Christian at Pope. It will be NCC’s 4 D I’s vs GAC’s one D I and a bunch of outstanding basketball players, and Eddie Martin. Putting my money on GAC. (not literally of course)
