Predictions: Calvary Day, Marion County, Creekside to win first titles

Six teams can win their first state championships in football this weekend at the Georgia Dome. The Class A private-school bracket is guaranteed a first-time champ, as Calvary Day and Aquinas have never won one. I expect Calvary Day to win that title. Look for Creekside to win its first championship with a victory over Tucker in an evenly matched AAAAA game, and Marion County will capture its first by beating Charlton County in the Class A public-school final. North Gwinnett (AAAAAA) and Lamar County (AA) will come up short in their quest for a first title.

THE WEEKEND PREDICTIONS

Last week: 8-6 (.571); Playoffs: 138-40 (.775); Overall: 1,886-446 (.809)

I’m feeling a lot better now that you have picked Creekside. Now I know
Tucker will win. The only question now is by how much !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congrats to the Aquinas Fighting Irish for winning Georgia’s 2013 Class A Private School Football championship and defying all of the “experts” in the process! Go Irish!

Chalk another one up for the Maxwell Ratings. Creekside 89 Tucker 81. Creekside the legitimate favorite and they played like it.

Chip, I can see how you were 8-6 last week. Looks like you were considerably off with
your prediction that you “expect Calvary Day to win that title”. You must live in Reg. 5
near the Swamp Lizard(?)
I had the Swamp Lizard a nice sized Crow Sandwich at the game today, and sent him
notice of it, but he either didn’t show up for our game(Aquinas), or he was too timid to
stop by.(?)

Talk is cheap and reporters = inventors. No need for research -just make it up as you go-

Griffin playing ball. Good ball. Parks is a baller to the max. Keep it up, I hope. Both these teams have athletes. Lots of them.

Thanks, Sportsnut. The Bears weren’t pretty or perfect tonight, but they were clearly the superior team in this game. They earned their due.
