Score Atlanta

This past weekend, Toombs County made a statement in the Jeff Davis Yellow Jacket Duals by topping Class AAAAA No. 2 Ware County 42-33 in the finals to take first place. The Bulldogs are on the climb behind Jefferson and Bremen and move up to No. 3 in Class AA.

GAC falls a spot behind Toombs County after a solid 4-1 outing at this weekend’s Mountain View Duals. The Spartans third place finish moved them to 13-8 this season.

Chattahoochee topped Mountain View, who holds a 16-3 dual meet record this year, in the finals of the Mountain View Duals (36-27) and move up two spots to No. 6 in Class AAAAAA.

In Class AAAAA, No. 1 Archer once again was crowned Southern Slam champions this weekend. After the first day, Archer already jumped to a 26 point lead and finished the tournament with five first-place wrestlers.

Marist was blown out last week by Banks County 65-9, but will not drop, as wrestlers on the football team could not participate and are back on the mats this week after a tough semifinals loss to Carrollton on the gridiron ended the season.

Social Circle won the Panther over Jefferson and Commerce. Granted Jefferson was missing plenty of guys but if any team is to be moving in AA it should be the Redskins of Social Circle.

This is definately a result of last years record, Social Circle won the Walton County duals this past week with very young Monroe Area finshing second, with Loganville third. George Walton Academy came in last mainly due to only having 5 wrestlers on their roster, and they will not be adding any more, that it is.

Camden will dominate 6 A this year and when they go down to 5 A in 2014, will totally dominate.
