Stockbridge was a lot tougher than most of us gave them credit for.Their announcer is an embarassment! Carrollton should send flowers to whomever called for punts from the opposing 35 and then the 30 yd lines. Looks like a rematch with Marist (5 ot last yr).Still waiting for Griffin final-either way Griffin has proven themselves.

@Just a Fan – Agree with your comment about the Stockbridge announcer! When Marist played them last year, he sounded like a complete fool, never shut up and he was consistently incorrect. Looking forward to the Marist/Carrollton rematch next week!

Yes, Griffin! That was a pretty crazy battle. A bit sloppy on both teams at one point or another. But, what a comeback, Bears! One of our own radio announcers had them written off with 9 minutes to go. 9 minutes!? To SC, you guys have got a freakin’ tough team. You’ll be right back in the playoffs next year, I’m sure. Way down in the valley, I heard a whole lotta noise…

I think Griffin is going to be disqualified after the GHSA sees the film and the heating tent on the sideline. I think this defeats the spirit of the game!

I have never seen a tent on the sideline of any level of football! I have seen heaters but never tents. I think a new rule will be put out next year. Clearly gaining an advantage if your players can stay warm and dry and who else knows what is going on in the tent. Was film being shown in there? Things that have to be answered. Just saying

I like to give props to Marist who was too physical up front for Burke Co. I wish the rest of the teams left in the playoffs the best. No excuses we got beat, by a much more physical team.

RGR…let’s suppose SC had won the game..a tent would have been the last thing on your mind. I’m sure Griffin checked the rules regarding only instruments or support regarding heating and warming of its players. Sounds you’re just trying to make up an excuse like a sore loser and try in your own way to show disrespect to the Mighty Bears.

I knew Griffin and Sandy Creek would be a very good game. I agree Maxx, the game was played on the field not in tents on the sidelines. RGR let it go, Sandy creek lost and now we will have a new Champion in AAAA this year.

I think Griffin has a great team but I have been watching all levels of football for over 40 years and have never seen anything like that at any level. I just think that allowing tents is not in the spirit of the game and I really hope the coaches checked on that because it would put a stain on a great performance if it is found out to be against the rules.

Of course it’s an advantage but Sandy Creek could have had any kind of heating devices on their sideline as well. Bottom line the better team won the game…NOT some stupid heat tent on the sideline. I think you can agree on that.

If SC was the superior team then why didn’t they hold that 3rd qrt lead? Our QB had a subpar game but played his best win it counted and SC could not stop him or his teammates, thus the best team indeed did win…GHS. I prefer Christmas BTW

So are long sleeves and thermal underwear. None of these enhances performance, including the tent.

I don’t think they will reverse the outcome but I do think new rules will be put out or rules will be enforced if they already exist and the officials didn’t know! Both teams are great but I just have never seen anything like that at any level.

Other than being warm, just what physical advantage does a player get? There’s nothing in the rule book that says players can’t be warmer than other players. What signals are you talking about. The ones that the other team is TRYING to keep secret, anyway.

I think if the GHSA started allowing the use of iPads on the sidelines this season, I think the use of a warming tent is ok. It is safer than a metal barrel with a fire in it.

Chill with the tent it was not even that cold tonight especially if u got on pads and are playing. There was nothing being shown in there u act like it was a movie theatre and they were going in there taking steroids and stuff. The tent provided no advantage at all. It was not even out of the thirties tonight give it a rest remember these kids are 15-18 and don’t even get that cold yet. Griffin is so poor that is probably all they had. Sandy creek has nicer facilities than the griffin boys have ever dreamed of is that unfair for griffin and griffin is a hard city for a kid to grow up in too most kids come from low income families where as sandy creek kids come from more money is that unfair.
