THE "CANNON RULES"!!

WELL….WELL…WELL… I see GHSF still has ROME predicted to be the # 4 seed in Region 5 AAAAA…it appears they have NO confidence that EAST can beat ALLATOONA tonight. Hmmmmm!

Well EAST entered it’s game last Friday night with winless LITHIA SPRINGS knowing it was staring at missing the playoffs for only the 2nd time since 05. With a loss to ROME a few weeks ago EAST had dug a hole that forced EAST to beat LITHIA SPRINGS last Friday and then go TO ALLATOONA tonight and win AGAIN! The problems at EAST this year have been no secret and many post have been made about them.

The air had seemingly gone out of the EAST balloon with the loss to SOUTH two weeks ago and you could tell it from the sparse attendance in the Home stands last week. EAST scored twice in the first 6 minutes and went on to win 34 / 0 with the CANNON firing and the smoke filling the air. Expecting one final game with ALLATOONA to end the season seemed likely…THEN suddenly the smoke cleared and a VILLA RICA team that EAST had beat 31 / 0 a few weeks before came to the rescue as their “D” held ROME who went for 2 after scoring a TD in OT and VILLA RICA beat ROME 21 / 20!!! EAST still had some LIFE left in the season after all.

Now the EAST team that was sure it was going to be on the outside looking in this year has it’s playoff fate SOLELY in it’s own hands. Not only can EAST make the playoffs BUT they can make it as the # 3 spot…and this is HUGE!!! The # 4 seed is going to have to play KELL at KELL, assuming KELL wins it’s “Play-In” game tonight!

So…EAST has to STOP all the bickering, FORGET about all the problems, pull themselves up and PRACTICE harder than they have all year and go into ALLATOONA with one thing on their mind…WIN!!!

Do this and they keep the playoff streak alive and live to play in the 1st Round of the State Playoffs. SO EAST…JUST WIN!!!

The EAST RAIDER NATION of cheering, bell ringing followers need to support this team and fill the visitors side tonight at ALLATOONA…So —>

Here’s hoping REGION 5 AAAAA will look like this in the morning:

# 1 / NORTH PAULDING with the 1st Region Championship in school history!
# 2 / SOUTH PAULDING
# 3 / EAST PAULDING
# 4 / ALLATOONA

Proud to be able to say again…

TICK…TICK…TICK…BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!

GO RAIDERS!!! —> BEAT ALLATOONA!!!!

I don’t understand for the life of me why East Paulding fans have abandoned their support for their team in such huge numbers this years. Allatoona is the better team and Josh Bettistra may be the best player in the region. They also have a lot to play for since the Number 1, 2 and 3 seeds from 5-AAAAA should handle the Number 2, 3 and 4 seeds from 7-AAAAA without much trouble. Romr outplayed Villa Rica last week other than the two late turnovers and should best Woodlahd tonight. Logic says Rime should take fourth but both teams will be watching both scoreboards all night.

Looks like it is possible that Sandy Creek and Carrollton could meet in the dome again.
Would a rematch game be tighter than SC’s victory last week?

@ John…

It’s all about LEADERSHIP, but I am putting all that aside for tonight’s game and HOPING & PRAYING that the EAST team that played and beat VILLA RICA a few weeks ago shows up tonight…if it does EAST WINS!!! However if EAST shows up like it has in many games this year…good example the loss at ROME…then ALLATOONA wins in a ROUT!

EAST controls it’s own destiny so we shall see…

Here’s hoping REGION 5 AAAAA will look like this in the morning:

# 1 / NORTH PAULDING with the 1st Region Championship in school history!
# 2 / SOUTH PAULDING
# 3 / EAST PAULDING
# 4 / ALLATOONA

For some reason, The Red Elephants are not getting any respect even though they are the State Champions. They don’t strike fear in anyone because most teams see them as a 1 man show with that gimmick offense and a soft defense to go along with that cupcake schedule. Most teams are licking their chops at a chance to play them. Teams don’t associate toughness with Gainesville!

Love the way you are looking past Cedartown, Warren.
Sc could not be facing a tougher first rounder.
I am pulling for cdtown.
