With all due respect, I think it is over for Landmark. Too many close calls and the failure to win or stay close in any big game. Highly overated and I believe the “perfect 1 and done team”. Great people and wish you nothing but the best.

Proud of my War Eagles for fighting hard tonight against a very good ELCA team. ELCA is loaded with talent. LCS had some key players out tonight with injuries. Glad we got a couple of weeks to heal up before the playoffs start.

@ Willie62 – it doesn’t sound like you are giving LCS all “due respect”. Landmark is a very young team with several 9th & 10th graders starting and only 6 seniors on the squad. No one close to the program expected this team to be 8-1 going into tonight’s game and playing for the region 5A championship against ELCA. Landmark’s season opening win against Calvary Day (8-2 & region 3A champs) was a “Big Game”! Wins over Mt. Paran, OLM and Pace were also BIG to this young LCS team. They also “stayed close” in their one point loss to Holy Innocents and almost made a spectacular last minute drive and field goal to win that “BIG” game. Sure they got it handed to them tonight by ELCA – just like ELCA has done to everyone they have played this year. So I wouldn’t say Landmark is overated – I call them over-achieving and due more “respect” than you gave them. They are far from perfect, but we will have to wait and see if they are 1 and done. However, you were right about one thing they are indeed Great people.

Class A Fans …. I am going to post what we think are the FINAL POWER RATINGS and matchups for the playoffs. First off I did not come up with these …. all this credit belongs to CHEER TIGER DAD and I’m just posting his hard work ( computer skills ) to all of us here at our AJC blog. Appeals can be made from teams to GHSA and all this could change.

I haven’t and won’t do that math, lost my mind with the formula and the data in a spread sheet last year. With that disclaimer published, I see nothing calculated by CHEER TIGER DAD and documented by Swamp Lizard that I can dispute.

JoCo let me down last night. Dang the Lizard kiss. Cost me “MY DREAM SCENARIO (rev. 2)”.

Ride, Win, Play Again.

Swamp, if the private bracket holds true, there are a couple of monster rematches, Paran vs OLM and Landmark vs HI. As a Paran dad, I hate to play OLM again but you gotta start somewhere. As for Landmark, if everyone’s healthy, I see them beating HI. Also of great interest is Darlington vs CH. Thanks for the early brackets!

@ Tiger Patpaw …. CHEER TIGER DAD is usually all over it when he runs his numbers. If I had to make a wild guess, I’d say this is about 95 % right …. with a 5% chance of a team or teams requesting an appeal and getting a change.

@ TRT …. yes, we have some interesting matchups on both sides ( Public & Private ) really. All those games you mention should be great games! I’m like you and follow the Private side closely, but on the Public side you have that JoCo / ECI rematch … & those teams really love each other. Looking at the Public bracket I really like the chances of us seeing a Region 2 Championship game with Irwin Co playing Clinch Co.

@ Tiger Patpaw …. now we have two weeks to look at this, crunch #’s, debate, and hopefully not go crazy waiting for that kickoff!

@ TRT … I agree with you on that Landmark / Holy Innocents rematch …. I picked Holy Innocents to upset Landmark last week, but if Landmark can get some rest, get a couple players healthy I think they will regroup and win that game the 2nd go round.

Two rematch games in a row, last night Trion next game OLM. I was hoping to play someone we haven’t seen. It’s hard to beat the same team twice. We will have our work cut out for us. Hopefully we can get everyone healthy, I am sure OLM will be ready.

@ Eagles 1 ….. yes, I see your point on playing and beating teams twice, but at least your “in”. That should be a great first round game ( Mt Paran / OLM ) ….. you have a “chance” at another rematch for a trip to the Dome !!

Hats off to Trion last night they came to play. OLM for a second time will be tough but I think we’re up to the challenge. I don’t see Pisgah making it past the second round if the bracket holds true.

OLM has just shifted into high gear! Don’t let their record fool you. They are a very good football team that can beat anybody right now. They are well coached, disciplined and hungry for wins. They WILL be a factor in the 2nd season for sure.

Again no coverage for Christian Heritage not even a mention of the score of Their game. NW Georgia teams get the s**t end of the stick from the AJC in coverage.
