West Hall did make it in as the 4th seed courtesy of a 10-7 win over Dawson County. DC missed a potential game tying FG late in the 4th.

Region 7 vs Region 5 1st Round Matchups

Buford (10-0) -vs Sonoraville (4-6)
White Co (8-2) -vs Adairsville (7-3)
North Hall (8-2) @ Ringgold (8-2)
West Hall (6-4) @ Cartersville (10-0)

I say Cartersville will be the only one to pull out of the 1st Round out of 5-AAA.

Although I am a WA guy, I guess the BT win over CG was not very important, as it gave BT the championship over us. Great season by both teams. War Eagle!

GO REED EGAN – a sophomore at St Pius with an incredible TD pass last night. Huge asset to St. Pius now and in the years to come!

@kman – I think I told you last week that BT would rule this region for years to come. The BT win over Cedar was important but what was MORE IMPORTANT was the BT win over Woodward themselves!!! We beat you head to head and have beat you head to head two years running. Give us our due!

Don’t think St. Pius will be AAA next year headed up to AAAA I heard or at least that is what their fans think. But the point maybe mute because a big push to have all private and city schools play up one will keep most of that region together. New Blood at GHSA making or caving in to pressure around the state to make the call for the movement.

Ghost of…hope you’re not right, but the GHSA is a bunch of political, good-ole-boys who are more concerned with their position of power than the sport itself. I’ve seen this with Ga. wrestling.

BTHomer, region is fine and congrats, talk to WA and St.Pius when you have a couple of football state championships to crow about…..

@Alex -take a look at our number of State Championships we’ve won since opening the school in 2000. 25 and still counting, just won a XCountry one today, thank you! McFarlin has had tremendous success in just three seasons and will have BT there soon. I know SPX and WA as well as the AAA public schools are not happy about BT’s recent success, but that is ok, we like that and use it as inspiration. Especially WA. BT has owned WA both at the Varsity and Jr. level and the future does not look bright for WA as long as BT is in the 6-AAA “House.” Go Titans!!!

@Ghost of Region Future – I saw the article about the reclassification. I think SPX will move up but WA and BT will stay AAA. SPX has a 150-200 more kids. Besides, any of these three can compete at the AAAA level. Marist is about the same as SPX and wins the Director Cup each year in AAAA and competes well in football as we all know, and so now it will be good for them to have some “Catholic” competition from SPX for both football and the All Sport Director’s Cup. BT and WA will battle it out at AAA for the Director’s Cup, and BT will be dominant over WA in football for sure and likely see a few state championships in the next 5-7 years. The University of Buford will finally have to move up and play where they belong at AAAA, and I think we all know how that is going to turn out. Their lack of depth will be exposed – well, either that or they’ll recruit harder to keep up. What can you say about the GHSA?..I agree, they are going to do what is best for their pockets not what makes sense for the kids and the schools.

GHSA needs to check the water at BT because BT Homer and company remain delusional! Enjoy the 1 Seed and BTW- did you see the SPX vs Decatur score? Oh yeah, I know you won the region by 1 point but welcome to the big leagues in the “second season”. Football fan- patience- lots of game to still be played.

BTHomerDad hard to believe you are of adult age based on most of your posts. McFarlin doing a good job. Lots of good coaches around. But Muschamp is the cream of the crop — I notice BT can’t beat him. Not sure what your disdain is for WA — you seem to beat on them in most of your posts. Good luck the rest of the way and years to come — you seem to know what the future holds for your Titans — for your sake I hope they meet your expectations!

BTHomerDad, chill out. Every year is different. There is no way you can state that BT will rule the region for years to come. WA younger grades are loaded in football and in AAA even a few players that transfer in or move into a new district can make a huge difference. Credit McFarlin for winning this year while replacing 16-18 starters. I assume BT, WA stay in AAA. SPX may or may not move up. Marist, for all the grief it takes is AA size school playing up 2 divisions, so say what you will but they do play up on their own. Competition is competition, doesn’t matter if public or private. Based on size BT, WA, SPX, Marist and maybe Lovett should all be AAA. Congrats on winning region, good luck in playoffs.

After last Friday night….its clear that Buford should not be in AAA. I am a North Hall fan and I can say that they handed it to us…legit. We scored against their second team defense. That being said, I firmly believe that this school should be in their own classification with other “pay-as-you-go” schools. Stack the teams all you want, put them in their own clasification, and let them go at it. To all of the other teams who play with the players who are legitimately in their school’s districts… Kudos for keeping it real and not building a legend on a technicality. My opinion…players should NOT be able to go where they want as long as they can pay….play in the school you are district for and keep it real. If you’re good enough, colleges will notice you regardless of your school. PERIOD.

With that being said…..good luck to all who made the playoffs. Buford will have a tough time facing 4-6 Sonoraville. That aughta be a dog fight for sure (sigh). :-\ Sonoraville…..If you win, and I truly hope you do, it will be a victory of mythical proportions that will be remembered and talked about for many many years to come. GAME ON!!!!

Everyone in 7-AAA except North Hall hopes like heck Buford is moved out of 7-AAA. North Hall is the only school in 7-AAA capable of beating Buford on a semi-consistent basis. I hope we continue to play them every year. Unlike @Its_clear above…a true NH Trojan isn’t afraid of any challenge put before us. With us no longer playing Gainesville and Flowery Branch, if Buford is no longer in our region we will have a cake walk every year. We’ll be guaranteed the region championship every year. With that being said…..if that’s how you want to win it…..you are not a true Trojan.

To all…always remember and don’t ever forget…..We’re North Hall and You’re Not!!

XL Trojan…..get your head out of your @$$…..that was an ANTI-Buford post. They’re not even close to being a legitimate team b/c everything they have accomplished has been bought. If they played with only the players that are in their district they’d be crushed by even single-A teams.

Now…..as far as being a true NH Trojan goes….I bleed green and white…..but mark my words, you will NOT get past the elite 8 unless your coach learns how to spread out your offense to keep defenses on their heels…case in point is White County. Now suck it up, and lets run the table on some folks in the playoffs, show people what Trojan football is all about, and prove sceptics wrong.

Our greatest mistake in life is not aiming high and missing, but rather aiming too low and hitting your target. Aim high, and lets meet Buford in the dome. I’ll be at EVERY game.
