List/Trivia/Quote: Camden County holds record for longest regular-season win streak

For the second time this season, a team has fallen one game short of a 40-game winning streak in regular-season games. First, it was Sandy Creek, which tied Plant of Tampa, Fla., on Aug. 29. Sandy Creek does have a 48-game unbeaten streak in the regular season. On Friday, Northside of Warner Robins had its regular-season win streak snapped at 39 by Warner Robins. We ran this list several weeks ago but felt it was worth repeating. The longest regular-season winning streaks:

58 – Camden County 2000-06

56 – Macon County 1991-97

53 – Lincoln County 1975-80

49 – Calhoun 2008-13

49 – Buford 2004-2009

47 – Hart County 1997-2001

47 – SE Bulloch 1970-75

46 – Valdosta 1967-72

44 – Avondale 1963-67

43 – Valdosta 1981-85

41 – Marist 1997-2001

40 – Marist 1989-92

40 – Manchester 1964-68

40 – McEachern 1986-89

40 – Thomson 1966-70

Which Georgia school has the longest active winning streak in regular-season games now that the 39-game streak of Northside of Warner Robins is over? (Answer Tuesday)

Answer to Friday’s question: Americus, which closed in 2004, has the most victories among Georgia schools that no longer exist. The school began playing football as early as 1912 and won 539 games, including seven state titles, according to Americus merged with Sumter High School to form Americus-Sumter. The new school retained the nickname Panthers.

@Wolf Dawg — apparently you are a math major. 46 is not a bigger number than the larger numbers on the chart.
