November is here. Time to play ball.

I think Lowndes and Camden will be a good one this week. We will see who wants it more and whoever makes the least amount of mistakes. Thats what it will come down to. Good match up.

I think you are forgetting about Blessed Trinity. WIth a win tonight over Pius or a win next week over Cedar Grove, they are in the playoffs. If they win both they win the 6AAA Region. Don’t forget that Blessed Trinity beat Woodward earlier this year.

Todd, funny, I did the same “bracket building” earlier in the week for AAAAAA. The next 2 weeks can change the AAAAAA bracket significantly! It is fun to play what if, however.

For example, I think the Camden/Lowndes game is a complete coin toss as to which one wins and I think North Gwinnett will get a very solid game from Peachtree Ridge.

I am an AAAA fan;possible changes from upsets in my opinion:Dalton#1 R7(over Cedartown);Carrollton R5#1(over SC),Chestatee (#1R8) over Monroe Area. All these would be upsets according to present rankings and projections of course-some bigger than others but that is what keeps some games interesting.

REGION 5AAAAA has some VERY competitive teams this year and the NORTH / ALLATOONA game tonight is going to be BIG!!! NORTH holds its fate in it’s own hands…

WIN out and you are REGION champions!!! GOOD LUCK!

Last year’s UNDEFEATED REGION CHAMPS in 5AAAAA, EAST PAULDING have struggled this year playing without a Head Coach with ANY football knowledge or leadership and the problems continue…EAST SHOULD win tomorrow night in “THE BONEYARD” against winless LITHIA SPRINGS but is probably going to finish at 6 / 4, losing to TWO PAULDING COUNTY teams AND missing the playoffs for the only the 2nd time since 05.

This is NOT what is expected from EAST PAULDING teams!

EAST needs a NEW HEAD COACH more than OBAMACARE needs a new website!!! Although both have about as many problems and the person in charge of BOTH have NO CLUE!!!

Coaching candidates for 2014 PLEASE go to: and click the boosters tab then send your resumes to the club President, V.P. & Alumni Association…can’t hurt and maybe this will get the ball rolling! .

I am completely unable to read posts from Cannon anymore. All that caps lock, lower case, caps lock tick tick boom crap has gotten so annoying.

I’m not off the East wagon(always my first love)…….. But with a kid at North and ‘our’ coach at Tift I now have other stadiums and radio stations to frequent also. Will you be at the East/LS game tonight ?

If you decide to come to the North/Allatoona game bring the cannon and loan it to the Wolfpack for the night. It should be a Glorious night of football either way. Region title stays within Paulding county and we don’t let it slip, over that county line into Cobb. :)

November 1st, 2013

Why play for regional championship other than a home field advantage. I see teams here with losing records projecting to make the field. Playoffs should be a reward for winning and playing good football. Losers should go home and stay vowing to play better and hopefully win enough games to be selected for a playoff run next season.

REALLY?,……. a mainstay on the blogs and has been for years. You have now posted, what 2 or 3 times and each time it is to pick on Cannon. How about you tell us who you team is, and talk about football. If you don’t like a particular bloggers comments …….DON’T READ THEM.

@John Trollston

I used to think @CANNON and @JAB were the same person! :)

Read their posts and you’ll see what I mean. Both makes tons of excuses as to why their teams are in their current state, but I have to admit @CANNON does make some sense however. CANNON at least appears to be unbiased when comparing his team to the others. You want to see annoying, try the JAB dude. I’m glad his team never plays us, so I can just skip his blogs.

@RealisticFan – Ditto to your comments to John Trollston. If he doesn’t like “CANNON” comments, then he better stay away from the 5A blogs and reading the infamous JAB posts. (LOL) I posted on another blog, that I believe N. Paulding is one of my sleeper, under the radar team in 5A. If the Wolfpack’s get the #1 seat in your region (5) and the playoff picture stays as projected in this article, it will put them on the side with a LOT of quality programs. This will be a true test where the N. Paulding program is headed. Good luck and as USUAL, look forward from reading the outcome of region 5 matchups from its knowledgeable HS football fans, i.e. yourself & CANNON. Note: IMO, 5A region 5 is becoming much like region 6, with 5-6 teams battling for playoff position, yearly. Welcome to our (region 6) world of HS football.

“WE ARE TUCKER” – Currently 8-0 & #1 in the REGION – The Tigers have been RELEASED!!!

@Ibleedblueandorange – Tucker Nation gives MUCH props to the your county teams, especially them DARN Eagles of NSWR – They have been a thorn in Tucker’s behind, if NSWR wasn’t in the Tigers path, Tucker / DeKalb, could have possibly claimed a couple more state championships, e.g. 2007 & 2012, and Marist in 2006. Region 6 will see at least one of your teams in the quarter-finals.
Region 6 WILL be united and in FULL support, on November 15th.

Lowndes Beats Camden tonight , by at the least 14 points, It is as another had posted “”"whoever is the hungriest will win”"”".. and Lowndes hadn’t eaten (beat Camden in a while.).

November 1st, 2013
1:32 pm

Really? Knew it was a matter of time before you showed up. With defense carrying both teams, and running being the primary scoring threats. I don’t see a 14 point spread by either team. These two teams are almost mirror images of one another. The key will be who flinches first. A turnover here or a miscue there will determine this game. I think that this is a homecoming game for Camden. Because it is a home game, homecoming night, and the stakes are high, I like the maxprep spread of 5. The only way that this game gets to be a 14 spread or greater is a whole lot of turnovers. Because the defenses are tight, trying to run to catchup may prove to be too much. Since I am down this way for the Fl-Ga game tomorrow, I picked up some tickets to see this game. Should be a good one. For everyone traveling today and tomorrow, be careful out there.

As for myself I try to post as realistically and rationally as I can, I will however make NO EXCUSES for bad coaching, bad refereeing(?), etc. I call it as I see it!

Region 7-AAA

November 1st, 2013
2:40 pm

There is a pretty big game happening tonight in 7-AAA. White County (6-2; 4-1) travels to take on West Hall (5-3; 3-2). I think West Hall has the potential to pull off this game, plus they’ll be at home but won’t be surprised in the slightest if White County walks away victors in this one.

My projected 7-3A playoff field….

1 – Buford (10-0)
2 – White Co (8-2)
3 – North Hall (8-2)
4 – West Hall (6-4)

I’m real proud of West Hall this year, for a team who hasn’t seen the playoffs since 2002, they have really turned it around but have a horrible draw in the 1st Round (Cartersville).
I believe the top three seeds will make it out of the first round this season.

I still think that Houston County will end up in the #3 spot in our region. Lakeside has a tough rival game against Evans tonight, and has to play Warner Robins next week. I think HOCO has a good chance at the three spot.

Thanks, glad someone besides me can give credit. Congrats on staying undefeated this season so far. Tucker and Stephenson have both been our problem teams, well if you discount the blunder that happened at both the Ware Co. and Whitewater games those years. Good luck on the last two of the season, I hope the brackets end with the top two in the state playing for the championship. Though I wouldn’t mind seeing a Rival game as big as NSWR vs. Warner Robins in the dome for everyone to enjoy.

November 1st, 2013

Camden 28 Lowndes 14. Lowndes turnovers did them in.

Oops, Camden 28 Lowndes 7. Sorry about that.

Just saying

November 1st, 2013
9:31 pm

Battle axe, Sportsnut, Camden 28 Lowndes 7. Lowndes was down 21-0 in the first quarter. Turnovers killed them. Camden converted them into points. After Lowndes scored with the help of 45 yards in penalties by Camden, the Camden defense took over and Lowndes defense was up to the task. Camden’s ability to pass May have been the difference along with the many turnovers Lowndes had. Camden had a score called back by a penalty. Next week should be a good one with Colquitt heading to Camden. Look like I will be heading back to the southeast corner again to see Colquiit and Camden.

November 2nd, 2013

This “CANNON RULES” individual is unbalanced, I hope everyone realizes this. Among the endless examples of the evidence proving this:

The “CANNON” defines an Internet “troll” as “a person who sows discord … by posting inflammatory .,, messages in an online community …”

Which he posts shortly after posting this:

“EAST needs a NEW HEAD COACH more than OBAMACARE needs a new website!!! Although both have about as many problems and the person in charge of BOTH have NO CLUE!!!”

Your coach is 17-4 in his time there, and the team’s three losses came to schools with a combined record of 21-6. Which by the way is a better record in his first 21 games than any coach you ever had, besides the last one of course … who took off to greener pastures. And yes, being a coach in a one-horse small Georgia town in the state’s toughest region IS the definition of greener pastures, as any good coach would tell you. Besides that, before he got there, your team was 38-109.

There is a difference, then, between having an objective, intelligent discussion about high school football and narcissistically trying to dominate a forum with a bunch of jabbering nonsense.

November 2nd, 2013
2:11 pm

@ CEM (or are you really John Trollston)…

I completely agree with you that…

“There is a difference, then, between having an objective, intelligent discussion about high school football and narcissistically trying to dominate a forum with a bunch of jabbering nonsense.”

So you should DO YOUR HOMEWORK and realize that the 2012 EAST team was the Senior laden team from Coach Reid’s era, they had been coached, trained and disciplined for several winning seasons and this was one of the most talent laden teams EAST had ever put on the field. They were preseason favorites to go DEEP into the playoffs!

Coach Reid excepted his current position with TIFT and Coach Goddard was hired at EAST, but he had NOTHING to do with the 2012 team other than walk the sidelines. The 2013 team is his first actual year in charge of players HE coached so YOUR numbers are skewed…Coach Goddard’s ACTUAL record proving what HE can do is 6 / 3 with a very important game to go this coming week at ALLATOONA.

Now I will direct ONE COMMENT at you and that will be it…NO ONE on these blogs appreciates or condones people like yourself that come one the blog and try to antagonize other bloggers. We all are on here to talk up our teams, discuss games, praise players, and have a little good natured “trash talking”. If there are problems with referee’s, coaches, etc. during a game that will also be discussed BUT your kind of direct personal attack against someone you do not know will not be tolerated.

The problem, “CANNON RULES,” really lies in the fact that your words are either hypocritical, extreme generalizations or downright false.

In my previous post I directly quoted your own words, verbatim, on how you define a “troll,” and proceeded to conduct yourself in that very manner. You don’t think saying your coach needs to be fired and doesn’t know anything about football is inflammatory? Even though I never met the man, what if he was a friend of mine, or even my neighbor? You don’t think I should be inflammed?

Then you said the 2012 East Paulding team was a “… preseason favorite(s) to go DEEP into the playoffs!”

According to who? You? Your buddies? A preseason ranking? Guess what: The 2012 state title game was played by teams ranked No. 9 and No. 10 in the state AP preseason poll. The only other team in the Top 10 to make the state semifinal was No. 2 Northside-Warner Robins. How deep were you predicted or expecting to go?

Then you said your current coach “had NOTHING to do with the 2012 team other than walk the sidelines.”

Really? Who coached the defense, and how long had he been there in 2012? Maybe two years, tops? So what you’re saying is, the kids fended for themselves in 2012? And if he just walked the sidelines, how come your team didn’t go deeper into the playoffs as “predicted?” As for being 6-3 this season, if you beat Allatoona you get the third spot in your region, and go to the playoffs. And you want the guy fired already? Is that truly what you consider objective and intelligent?

Your team is 15 points away from being 8-1, controls its own destiny in terms of making the playoffs, and is 17-4 the past two seasons, and you think “talking them up” includes trying to start some kind of groundswell to get the coach fired?

That’s not trash talk, CANNON. That’s making a concerted effort to get a man with a family fired from his position – without even considering what kind of teacher he might be – because you’re personally chapped over what you yourself consider a nine-game opportunity to show you something. And that’s only because you refuse to give him credit for an 11-1 season, yet seem to blame him for the team not fulfilling its 2012 expectations, since they were of course predicted to go “deep” into the playoffs.

You know, Meadowcreek High School is 4-115 since 2002, so I guess people over there need to just go ahead and dismantle the entire school and prevent every coach employed there in that time period from ever coaching again.

Here’s an idea: Why not inform everyone what East Paulding needs to do to be successful against Allatoona, or talk about how well your team handled not falling asleep against Lithia and maybe even conducted itself in a sportsmanlike manner against a clearly inferior team? Better yet, given the topic of this particular story, why not talk about the fact that Rome is coming off a tough loss, plays on the road against a team that’s won three in a row, and might not be the guaranteed W people think?

That is objective, intelligent discussion. Trying to persuade folks to help you get a man with a family and a 17-4 record fired … sounds like neither. And sounds even less like those things when half of it is in capital letters.

I been posting on here now for over 6+ years and I have seen posters like you come and go (as I am sure you will) I WILL NOT get into an argument with you (which is what you are trying to do) regarding WHY I think the present Coach is not qualified to be the Coach at EAST. Suffice it to say you can go back and read the archived post from myself and MANY other posters regarding how Coach Goddard was GIVEN the job at EAST!
