ELCA 40 – Pace 2 !!! Please explain why you thought this would be any different ! There’s not a team in Class A that can handle ELCA ! The only guys who had it right were the ones that said ELCA is head & shoulders above every team in 1-A. Don’t even start with the Landmark talk. They will play ELCA hard ! They always do, but that won’t change the outcome ! ELCA will ROLL Landmark by at least 4 TD’s and take the Region 5 Championship home with them !!! Do yourself a favor & buy in ! You doubters are looking more and more foolish every week !!!

@ don thomas …. ELCA is very balanced. QB Etheridge is probably one of the best dual threat QB’s in the state ( at any level ). They have a very solid O-line that they could pound the ball all night and control clock …. but if they need to throw it all over the place they can do that with Etheridge & two very good WR’s. They also have a very nasty “D” that is kind of an unsung hero …. I’ve seen my share of football and I do think they are without a doubt the #1 team in Class A …. but I’m sure Aquinas, Landmark and others will bring their “A” game against ELCA evry friday night here on out. Can they be beat? …. Yes they can be beat. Is it likely …. we will see.

Tigers 28 at Bobcats 31:
The game was not as close as the final score. When OLM kicked a field goal with 5:00 left in the 3rd to go up 31-14, answering Darlington’s second score, the outcome was all but determined. Darlington’s 14 point stumbling scramble in the 4th wasn’t gona be enough. From the touchback interception by OLM of the first flea-flicker pass attempt through the final Darlington TD pass RAC, these teams exhibited impressive athletic efforts.
OBSERVATIONS:
When you don’t have certain tools available, you line up your O’s and come with what brung ya.
Based on what I’ve seen on previous blogs and at last night’s game, electric clock operating officials require some training.

Very impressive win from HI over Landmark 29-28. HI was able to set their power running game early and basically bullied my Landmark. We have a lot to work on for ELCA next week.

To Innocent Bystander, you have used 8 explanation points in your 9 sentences. You are obvoiusly a child or a uneducated adult. Congrats to ELCA but please show some class and act like you have been there before. Everyone knows that ELCA has the cheapest tuition for a private school in the entire state, sound a little like Buford?

Picc Man….you are right on about Innocent Bystander. Maybe his new name should be “Obnoxious Idiot” I think ELCA qualification for reduced/free “tuition” is not based on financial need as much as the student’s time for the 40 and/or the amount they can bench press.

Im a Pace Dad, and many of the players said that the ELCA coaches were mocking them from the sideline in the 4th quarter. Obviously it was shown that ELCA is the best team in the state, but I dont think it is right for the assistant coaches to mock the other teams players when they are down by at least 30 and are physically exhausted. ELCA has great tradition and a great program, but cmon. Show some more class please!

The ELCA coaches have enough to deal with without “mocking” players on other teams. How about Pace dealing with it’s players ripping helmets off ELCA players heads to get them out of the game for a play? Happened 2 plays in a row, and the officials had to warn them about it. They even gouged ELCA’s quarterback’s eyes while pulling off his helmet.

Pace dad before you throw stones…ask # 54 why the assistant coach ( the large loud one) yelled at him! Let me fill you in….he( the coach)already had a 15 yard penalty on him for running his mouth and then he was talking smack to the ELCA team…

Lets be here for the kids and let them enjoy this great experience at this great game we all love. We call it football but its much more. Its the fight that our boys experience thats the greatest preparation for life. Its great and a priviledge when boys get this opportunity. Lets give all of our energies to support that. Go single A football!

It really is sad seeing these dads, of private christian schools, tear each other up over something so unimportant to life. I love this game everything about it! The rivalries, the competition, the electricity in the air on friday nights, but when I see this it becomes a lot less fun. As a player I ask just let us kids play the game we love and lets play in such a way and act in such a way that we glorify the Lord while doing it. Each one of these teams deserves some respect we all get out there after a long day of school from monday to thursday and work our butts off just to play on fridays. So please just show everyone the respect the deserve. And go War Eagles.

Thanks Swamp, but no need to explain anything. It seems these guys can dish it out, but can’t take it ! At least A Classful Fan is offering to help with tuition ! We get it buddy. You have a big check book. Congrats on that. Quit crying and talk some decent smack. It’s a lot more fun when you play along. By the way, I was going to use the name Obnoxious Idiot, but Pace’s 6′8′ non-coach had the name trademarked, so I went with this one.

OK folks—ELCA is the best team in Class A. It’s time to move them into a higher classification to see if they can hang with AAA teams in Metro ATL/North GA. I’d bet several teams in AA would bring them down a couple of notches.
But ELCA doesn’t want to play against the BIG boyz.

WarriorsFan:

Feel free to bring this comment over to the Class A Blog. It’s interesting.

I’ve spoken to the AD (Coach Queen) and head football coach Gess. They’ve talked about it but in a very cursory fashion. Nothing serious at all. Also, they would have to get buy in from the coaches of the other teams at the school, plus the parents as well.

@ Warriors Fan……….ELCA schedule included 3A Powerhouse Washington Co. and 5A Alabama Powerhouse Briarwood not to mention a game against 2A Hapeville. It’s harder than you think to get a bigger school to play a 1A Powerhouse. If the bigger school wins, they get no respect for beating a 1A team. If the bigger school loses, they get blasted for losing to a 1A team. It’s a no win for them. Besides that, there are maybe 2 or 3 teams in 2A that would give ELCA a game, maybe a few more in 3A, but don’t get carried away. It’s not that ELCA doesn’t want to play the “BIG Boyz” !

@ Warriors Fan Washington County is by some polls the 5th best team in any classification across GHSA, and ELCA was on the doorstep to score 3 times within the quarter and a half that we played. 5A powerhouse Briarwood from AL, we handled. We would not get bullied in AA or AAA. I am not saying we would achieve the same level of success as in single-A, but don’t count us out of those fights.
