Newnan 9, Westlake 6 (OT): Connor Cox hit three field goals, including the game-winner on a third-down kick in the overtime period. On the first possession of overtime, Newnan forced Westlake into a fourth-and-long and got a sack. So, looks like after Camden scored 21 pts. due to all those turnovers, the score was 7-7 for the rest of the game. I would not look at that as a positive thing. The Packers should have no problem stopping the Cats running game with their defense. If the Pack’s offense is on, it’s a region title. This Propst team may be the best he’s had since arriving in Moultrie.

74=We been saying this all year well I know I have. I know it wont be easy but this is where I fully expected us to be at this time of year. Win or lose it is in our control and that’s all we could ask of them. Last yr u guys already had the region locked up y this time but now it comes down to Friday. Your Cats have grown up all yr and are peeking at the right time. Cant call them young anymore but it will be some full grown Hawgs coming. Hey is that the first time Lowndes came to the Cats Den? If not they sure played like it in the first quarter.

I watched the Valdosta-Brunswick game………I guess the weather played a factor, or I guess the Dr. Jekyl version of Brunswick showed up in Valdsota tonight. As far as the Camden-Lowndes game, I think it was 21-0 before the Vikes put any points on the board. The Vikes do not have enough offense to get behind early in ball games. No need to make excuses for their turn overs…….I guess we all need to prepare ourselves for the rhetoric upcoming this week as Camden and Colquitt get ready to decide Region 1 next Friday………rest up Packerhogs, it’s a long ride to Kingsland!

@Carl if the same Valdosta shows up that played against Lowndes…….well, yeah. But, the Shuman kid has shown me a lot. He’s not the biggest kid on the field but he has good “pocket presence” and it helps to have their running game working. They’re going to be a pain for the R3 #1……..if they show up!

MADDBALL……It was a great start for Camden and a terrible start for Lowndes. Camden capitalized on Lowndes’ first two turnovers and the rest, as they say, is history! Lowndes could not capitalize on the Camden turnover. Lowndes has a fast defense, but Camden has a faster offense and a pretty fast defense themselves…..Looking forward to next Friday! RELEASE the CATS!!!! :-D

DOSTA DAWG

Its a game of inches and “WHAT IF’s”

Valdosta has held Colquitt, Lowndes and Camden to their lowest offensive out-puts of the season and won the turnover battle in all 3 games, only to go 0-3.

Valdosta is about 10 plays from being 9-0 instead of 6-3.!!!!!!!!

ppaddy123

November 2nd, 2013

Good point Dosta Dawg………Carl, my point was more of disappointment in the quality of Brunswick’s play, not the Cats. Valdosta has been in every game as “the Dawg” stated. But they did not play their best game against Lowndes, and anyone that has seen them play will agree with me. so get your panties un-wadded! You asked for an opinion and you got one! Can you deal with it?

Lowndes gets exposed, and Colquitt lays one on a patsy. Region 1 will STILL gain SOS love.

5-Time

November 2nd, 2013
3:46 am

Good game Camden!! The game was over in the first quarter. Yes, we had 5 turnovers, but I don’t think Lowndes would of won regardless, turning the ball over or not!! They don’t have an offense. And our running backs are not that great. I will say this though, Valdosta has the best defense in Region 1-AAAAAA!! Colquitt has a great defense too, but looking at all the matchups in the Region, Valdosta kept everybody in check!! Region 3-AAAAAA #1 Seed is not getting a fair deal playing the #4 seed in Region 1-AAAAAA in Valdosta, LOL……Lowndes won’t make it past the first round!!

But that Colquitt/Camden showdown is gonna be the game of the week next week!! Both squads are coming into the game undefeated in Region play and the winner taking the Region Title!! Gonna be great I’m tellin ya, BUT, Colquitt shuts down Camden for the Title!!

I hope Colquitt Co. wins the State Title this year!! And I think they will!! Because in 2013, they have the squad to finally pull that off….

5 Time, Valdosta does have a great defense, and if they are able to put that defense with what I think could be a great offense, they would be a load to handle. But, close only counts in horse shoes and hand grenades. Your prediction for Friday did not pan out, and so to soften that game you are predicting Colquitt to take down Camden. I have watched quite a few Packer games this year and that defense sets up that offense nicely. No predictions here

We may have won but it was not pretty on the radio. Offense will need to step it up next week. Not sure we can rely on the defense to pick off three (one pick 6) that are all turned into scores. Couple of special team hiccups too. Should be a good game though.

Last year the word from Coffee supporters and radio broadcast crew was…. “New Coach/New System…. give him a chance to set everything in motion”…. This year the word is/was…. “Their young”… Every team has young players… I am getting tied of hearing why the Trojans can’t!!! What will be said next year???
First time in Coffee County Trojan Football history that they will not have won a least “!” region game!
Maybe they need to move down to 3AAA….

@ppaddy123= North Cobb still will win the region with a Friday win but the Mceachern/Hillgrove game is for the #2 seed and if MC fall short they would be a #3 seed. Mac would go from once being #1 to being on the road for the first round of the playoffs!! They are still capable of making a run but what a difference a few weeks make in High school football. If Mac wasn’t #1 at some point this yr then I know they were once #2. Hillgrove will be at home too

@Sportsnut= That lost by East Coweta might have just cost them a playoff spot. Some one must have gotten hurt like a QB or RB are something because these last 2 weeks they have really struggled. @WildHawg2012, you’re right about East Coweta…….although they lost to both Lovejoy and Archer, it looks like they were competitive in both games, but to loose to Douglas? It was a week after Hughes beat them pretty bad. Still, it looks like they will make the playoffs since they beat Westlake head to head.

I can’t decide if Valdosta played really good last night or Brunswick played really bad……..obviously, with a 41-8 victory one wants to think their team played great, but I’m wondering what happened to the Brunswick team that almost played Camden even? It probably wasn’t ideal to play Colquitt, Camden and Valdosta in successive weeks. Valdosta fans, it looks like the Shuman kid is starting to play with more confidence. Both Lowndes and Valdosta have sophomore QB’s………right now, I give the edge to the kid from Valdosta simply because he’s been asked to do more, and he’s succeeding! he looks comfortable in passing situations (it helps to have that good running game going) Valdosta looks to have a 1st round match-up against Hughes……I wouldn’t under estimate them!

It looks like there will be some important games next week. Region championships and seeding will be the order of the day. Regions 1, 2, 4, 5, and 7, will crown a champ on Friday night. Colquitt and Camden, both 8-1, will do battle for Region 1. Lovejoy and Alcovy, 8-1 and 7-2 respectively, will decide Region 2. Region 4 has a 3 way tie for the lead. Mac, N. Cobb and Hillgrove are all 6-1.

In Region 5, Lassiter is out front at 5-1 in region but Milton, Walton and Etowah are all 4-2. The same situation that is Region 4 is also in Region 7. North Gwinnett, Norcross and Collins Hill, are all 6-1 in region with the Ridge at 5-2.

Important games, to say the least.

@ MADDBALL == Yes, we were off. A good week to have off too. We have Alcovy next week with the region on the line. This is why I said much earlier that it was not assured that Lovejoy would win region. We would have clinched last night if Alcovy had lost but now it is for all the marbles in this game. If they win, we would be tied but they would win by beating us.
