Region-8 AAAAA vs Region-6 AAAAA might be the best first round match-ups in the state.

MLK and Mays will lose to Tucker and Stephenson, Arabia Mountain will beat SWD tomorrow night and win out. MLK will have to go to Flowery Branch and Arabia Mountain will go to Gainesville.

Don’t be so fast to put Spencer in as the #4 from Region 5AA. I think you will have a 3 way tie for final spot with Bremen, Spencer & Kendrick. Spencer still has to play Heard Co. and Kendrick.

If all plays out as is now and the final 2 spots go to the pretenders (MLK) and Arabia, will the Pretenders get the 3rd spot over Arabia because they beat them or will they compare the loss difference between Mays to MLK and Arabia to Mays. Wondering who will get spot #4 from 6-5A as it stands………….as much as I don’t like the Pretenders, I know Gainesville don’t want to see them because that game could go either way; that’s what happens when “Pretender” vs. “Overated”. One has something to prove and the other is falsely overconfident…….Arabia will score on them anyone in Reg 8, but they dont have the defense to stop the top 2, GHS or FBHS.

best stab at single a based on current power points per CTD

#1 Marion (region 4 champ) hosts #16 Turner
#2 Seminole (region 4 champ) hosts #15 Claxton
#3 Charlton (region 2 champ) hosts #14 Gordon Lee
#4 ECI/Johnson (region 3 champ) hosts #13 Hawkinsville
#5 Clinch hosts #12 Mitchell
#6 Johnson/ECI hosts #11 Dooly
#7 Irwin hosts #10 Lincoln
#8 Commerce hosts #9 Trion

#1 Darlington (region 6 champ) hosts #16 Kings Ridge
#2 Aquinas (region 7 champ) hosts #15 Pace
#3 ELCA (region 5 champ) hosts #14 First Presbyterian
#4 Prince Ave (region 8 champ) hosts #13 OLM
#5 Landmark hosts #12 Brookstone
#6 Mt. Pisgah hosts #11 Calvary
#7 Mt. Paran hosts #10 George Walton
#8 Christian Heritage hosts #9 Pacelli

Region’s 6, 2, 3, and somewhat 8 are wide open
looks like Marion’s win over Dooly pretty much sews up region 4
ELCA is going to win region 5
Seminole is goint to win region 1
Aquinas has region 7 to lose

Less football to play this week than last!!!!

Ill say it again:

Round one
Reg5 beats Reg 7 ….3-1 (Kell beats Rome for Reg7s only win. Allatoona, North and South too much for the other qualifiers….Creekview, Sequoyah, Northview)

Reg6 beats Reg 8….3-1 also (Gainsville beats ML King in a close game but FB, CC and Heritage get run off the field by the rest of Reg6.

Sets up interesting round two games

North Paulding hosting Mays
Tucker hosting Allatoona
Kell hosting Stephenson
Gainesville hosting South Paulding

If Stephensen does meet Kell in second round, they should beat Kell convincingly. Stephensen overall team speed should be too much for Longhorns.

BHS#1 Fan – You don’t want to be #4 in that region, unless you want to see a great facility and fan base.

The team that comes out of that Lovejoy/NG is favorite in my opinion in 6A. That portion of the bracket is definitely overall better.

Oh yes Jefferson I know who #4 plays. Everybody always likes to see how they match up against the top teams. We have a great Fan base also.Nothing like playoff football. Good Luck!!

@LHSAlum33… I’d have to agree with you. However, region 7 and region 1 will be decided over the next three weeks so the outcome of that madness could present an entirely new-looking bracket.

It will be a Region 1/Region 7 championship with Lovejoy still playing the wanna be role. LOL

@RealisticFan, I like your analysis and I would prefer a MLK vs. Gainesville game because I think that would make for a great game; but that depends on MLK finishing 4th in the region.

Regardless, MLK is going into the playoffs with a chip on their shoulders and I don’t count them out of the playoffs too soon. They are going to be playing for all of the marbles, especially to atone for last year’s early exit to Allatoona.

Stephenson vs. Kell will be another great game for Reg 6 because I’ve seen the Longhorn-JAG banter on this blog and expect that this will be a game of mano-o-mano and I expect Stephenson to come out blazing. I just hope they keep their emotions in check and get ready for their next game which will be at the MAC against NSWR and will determine if they are dome-ready. If Stephenson plays to form, this should be a very exciting game and as goos as we know NSWR usually is, Stephenson has the tools to win this one.

Since Tucker does’nt take anyone lightly, I don’t expect a 1st or 2nd round let down. I think Coach Lamar has a strong support staff and boys that believe in the program, great recipes of a strong team.

@NGHS= Well said about region 1. Their are 3 weeks of crazy madness going on and the Packers will have their hands full with Valdosta and if we don’t take care of biz then the region madness will be even more crazy. But if we get by Valdosta then the game at Camden will be wild and for all the region marbles. The Camden/Lowndes game will also be good. Some great football over the next few weeks and good luck the rest of the way for u guys because there are some big games in your region too.

Hey BHSFan#1 I guess Jefferson doesn’t know anything about the fan base of Bowdon and Bremen. We have the stadium packed by 5:30 even if the game starts 2 hours later.

@Truthsayer… lol Smh “overrated” huh? we’re gonna have a long talk after the first round of the playoffs.

@RealisticFan … don’t be so quick to think Reg. 6 is gonna run FBHS and CC off the field. They may match up good with those teams.

@itsonlywrite……..I meant what I said. They havent been challenged within your region. Bottom line. We beat the “Pretenders” last night but I’ll be the first to say they are better than their record which makes them a very dangerous #4 if thats where they end up. I dont know mif you have watched any “good” region 6 games but I have seen the “redwhatevers” play twice this year……when they won. I didnt see the Buford game. The QB is the truth! No doubt. His passing abnility is tops; but what I saw from the “Pretenders” defense last night made me decide to call them the “Lions” cause they werent pretending. Maybe they got up for us or maybe they are finally waking up because the playoffs are loomin’ but they dont like losing and someone in the playoffs is probably gonna pay for that. They been geting destroyed in reg-6. Beware “redthingies”!!

October 27th, 2013
12:37 am

@Truthsayer … first off, its the “RED ELEPHANTS!!!” RESPECT IT OR CHECK IT!!! lol 2nd, I’ve seen some good Region 6 games except for the MLK vs Mays game. Saw everything else though for the most part. Mostly Tucker games and a couple MLK games. And with that said, I’m gonna reserve my true judgement on the Region 6 teams until after the first round of the playoffs. But the way things look, it prolly won’t be MLK that we play. but if we do play them, or whoever from Region 6, I got a question for ya. if we beat them by more than 2 or 3 TDs, will you finally give us our credit?

Region 6 bloggers, y’all have the top #1 and #2 teams…. After that be quiet!! I’m tired of hearing how y’alls #3 and #4 teams are region champs in other regions. If that was true yall would meet up in the final 4 every year but you don’t! In playoffs anyone can win! Just cause you guys have a tuff region does not mean you will walk all over every team. I don’t even think the region is that tuff out side the top two teams to be honest

So @itsonlywrite I never blog but love reading them. I thought it was funny how some fron Stephenson and Tucker called you out in earlier blogs. I thought it was funny how someone said you were pretending to be a Jaguar fan by supporting that Jab guy. But your last post made me laugh even harder because you actually admit that you have been to many region 6 games mostly Tucker. So how much is Gainsville paying you to spy..I mean record the Tucker games? Is it something they scared of? Thats smart though. You should spy on the best if you want to beat the best. Dont try to get out of this one because you know like I do that Gainsville is very far from Dekalb and with gas at $3.27 you better be getting paid pretty good. I’m going to walk around on both sides looking for you at the game this weekend (with your camera) cause we both know you wont miss this one. You will get a 2 for 1. Your rd-1 foe and your possible later round foe playing one another. LOL.

If our Lions play the Red Elephants in round 1 it will not be a beat-us-by-2 or 3 TDs. Who is this its only right cat?

October 28th, 2013
12:35 am

@Calling All Tucker Spies .. lol dude, I’ve been to only ONE Tucker game. smh… get the facts str8 first man. I watch alot of the games from you guys region of There’s nothing to be scared of, but there is an interest in seeing how we may fair against the competition in our classification. But dont be flattered, I watch all the top teams. And I meant by the “mostly Tucker” comment is that the only games that are for free to watch on that website from yall’s region are Tucker games… some of em anyway. But from what I’ve seen of Tucker, we shouldn’t be scared one bit. And we’re not that far, I be in Dekalb plenty with plenty of gas to spare. lol

@MLK Reigns .. I aint trying to “knock” yall, but cats from yall region be poppin off on these blogs mighty hard. So I just had to pose the question to Mr. “TruthSayer” b/c Region 6 bloggers think that Region 6 is the toughest region in AAAAA and that the best teams in that region are MLK, Tucker and Stephenson. So Im just saying, since everybody is expecting us to win by a slim margin, what’s gonna be said if we win by a big margin? Im not going to say we are going to win by that margin or win at all b/c I dont do all that bragging b/c I aint trying to jinx my team. But Im just merely asking a question… lol

Well the BLOG “ATE” my first post and I decided not to go into the same version again…

Suffice it to say EAST is done for 2013…While they played a very spirited game at times Friday against SOUTH PAULDING the same problems that have plagued this team all year continued to show.

EAST entered this game AT HOME in “THE BONEYARD” as a 10 point UNDERDOG!!! You have to go back to before 2005 to find where that ever happened, EAST is extremely hard to beat at home and this was embarrassing. But back to the problems…

The “O” line has been dominated all year long causing undue harassment on the QB causing broken plays, rushed passes, and fumbled handoffs. Additionally they continue to show abysmal play calling, dropped passes and horrendous pass coverage by the secondary as they REFUSE to look back to see where the ball is! They are beat time after time when the receiver catches passes that could easily be blocked of they would simply FIND THE BALL and break up the play!!!

It is abundantly clear at this point that for EAST to recover for the 2014 season they HAVE to aggressively search and find a NEW HEAD COACH! This has to be a priority and done sooner than later so as to let the players KNOW they will be properly coached in the spring to build momentum and desire for the 2014 schedule. DON’T DO THIS and it will take years to recover the program to even the level and respect it had attained…MUCH LESS GROW IT AND MOVE FORWARD!!!
I sat there last Friday night as I have now for 6+ years bell ringing, cheering and hoping BUT in the end EAST hope for the #4 playoff spot (baring some very odd loss by ROME) is to win out and that means winning in “THE BONEYARD” this week against a winless LITHIA SPRINGS team (I wonder if a loss to LITHIA at home would be enough to get ole’ COACH GODDARD fired? Hmmm!), then another HUGE mountain to climb will be beating ALLATOONA at Allatoona!! Even then that PROBABLY won’t be enough if ROME wins out.

Unfortunately the realistic end for this years EAST team is probably going to be 6 / 4, losing to TWO PAULDING COUNTY teams AND missing the playoffs for the only the 2nd time since 05.

Coaching candidates for 2014 PLEASE go to and click the boosters tab then send your resumes to the club President, V.P. & Alumni Association..can’t hurt and maybe this will get the ball rolling! .

@itsonlywrite,………….got ya. After we beat Tucker, I want your opinion about our offense. plus conventional wisdom says the reg-8 #1 team will beat the reg-6 #4 team; but if its us..throw all of that conventional crap out the window. Tucker is in trouble this weekend. they know it too. see you next Monday

@MLK Reigns … lmao 4sho. Will do. I’m telling ya tho, if MLK can get at least a lil bit of that offense from last year for this game, they will beat Tucker. They got the defense to stop the run. They just gotta watch out for the PA Pass. But yeah, see ya next Monday.
