Creekside 27, Whitewater 23: In a crucial Region 4 contest, the visiting Seminoles led 14-3 at the half, but had to score with three minutes left in the game to avoid their first loss of the season. Creekside running backs Bryson Terry and Dexter Knox each rushed for two touchdowns.
Gainesville 56, Clarke Central 28: The visiting Red Elephants rumbled to a 35-7 halftime lead. Gainesville quarterback Deshaun Watson once again led the attack by accounting for six total touchdowns. He completed three touchdown passes, ran for two and caught one from Mikey Gonzalez. Gainesville’s Orrin Ragland returned a kickoff 96 yards for a touchdown.
Loganville 18, Winder-Barrow 0: The visiting Red Devils overcame three first-half turnovers to pull away late. Blake Salter converted on three field goals and provided all of the scoring until Winder-Barrow snapped a ball into the end zone for a safety. The first player to reach the end zone was Jerry Devert on a 25-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter.
Mays 19, Dunwoody 7: Mays defensive back Jerome Smith stopped a Dunwoody drive with an interception return for a touchdown with 2:06 remaining at North DeKalb Stadium. Mays trailed 7-0 at halftime, but two Ayinde Russell touchdown passes to Deparis Carter, one in the third quarter and one in the fourth, pushed the Raiders ahead before Smith’s game-sealing defensive score.
Northview 42, North Springs 7: Led by a balanced offense, the host Titans got off to a 28-7 halftime lead. The 3-headed monster of Nathan Phillips, Jay Mays and Devan Johnson shared the load on the ground as Phillips had 15 carries for 77 yards and a touchdown, Mays had 62 yards on 11 carries and Johnson carried the ball 11 times for 59 yards and two touchdowns.
Sequoyah 35, Forsyth Central 14: With a heavy rushing attack, the visiting Chiefs controlled the time of possession and dictated the tempo. Lex Lauletta rushed for a 40-yard touchdown and Jake Garner rushed for two touchdowns, from five and six yards. The other two scores came from Blake Miller on a 65-yard touchdown run and B.J. Austin, who carried it three yards for a touchdown.
Stephenson 31, Miller Grove 7: Dallas Rivers rushed for two touchdowns and Dexter Neal caught had two touchdown receptions for host Stephenson at Hallford Stadium. Jaguars kicker Wisdom Nzidee added a 37-yard field goal and was perfect on extra points. The victory gave Stephenson its 150th program win, all under head coach Ron Gartrell.
Tucker 60, Southwest DeKalb 14: Quarterback Joe Farrer threw for touchdowns to Akeem Peters and Yaquis Shelley and ran for one score in a Tigers’ home game at Adams Stadium. Elijah Sullivan rushed for two scores, and Dominick Sanders and Raquan Rush each scored rushing touchdowns. The Tucker defense also forced a safety.
