The race for the AAAA crown isn’t looking so one-sided anymore. i think it’s safe to say that whomever wins the Carrollton-Sandy Creek game will be a heavy favorite to it all.

If only two teams are favored to “Win It All” that is STILL lopsided.

Griffin & Statesboro both should be considered favorites.

This years draw for playoff bracket favors Griffin to the Dome.

The region is obviously a 2 horse race but the state championship is not. 6 or 7 teams playing well with the talent to make a run.

AAAA is the best football going this year for sure!

The Sandy Creek – Carrollton game is going to be a good one in a couple of weeks!

Go Trojans!

I like Griffin, but I don’t see how the draw favors them going to the dome. Creek has lost 3 times over the last five years and I don’t see either bracket as favorable for them to get to the dome. And, I don’t see how a quarterfinal match up with Carrollton or Creek would automatically favor Griffin.

Anybody else think Troup putting their first team back in in the fourth quarter was a total lack of class? Yardage and a td against reserves are meaningless. This game was over in the first quarter. Griffin favored over the teams ranked above them? A contender,yes;favored,no-not at this point of the season. Same for Statesboro.

Was foolish to play the first team against Carrolltons JV, but this gives us more depth for the playoffs.
Our JV have only been tested on Friday nights as they roll vs any JV teams they play.

B1-9: Monroe may be the best team in AAAA-BUT there is no way of telling at this time – the schedule is just too weak,no quality competetion. To beat Creek,Carrollton or any of the other contenders a team will have to have a big strong line to compete.

Monroe seems to be doing this year what it was doing last year, clubbing baby seals. They really need to schedule tougher teams for their non-region schedule because their region isn’t the toughest out there. Other than Carrollton and us, our region isn’t that tough, but we scheduled three much larger schools to play in our first three games. IMHO, the only team that can beat the Creek this year is Carrollton.

Patriot-too early to tell if Carrollton is only team that can beat the creek-Creek is still the undefeated champions until someone changes that and no one will be favored to do that. I agree on scheduling-most regions are weak after the first couple of teams so to guage progress and get better a team must schedule stronger non-region competetion. Dont use the “nobody wants to play us” excuse;if SC,Carrollton&Burke can find strong foes anybody can.

Ok, cool!,yeah the teams they play are not that good! They got speed but kids haven’t been hit yet!

For the other Teams in AAAA, playoffs should be a lot of fun. @Monroe Area don’t talk to Carrollton. Sandy Creek and Griffin about speed because these teams have speed for days. Statesboro is going to line up and run it down your throat. So who ever beats these teams is going to need some big boys in the trenches to open holes for the speed guys and to allow the speed guys on defense to fly around and make plays. Also, watch out for Marist!

Why does GPB sports televise only Cobb, Gwinnette and Dekalb County games?

Trojan ‘85 No one from Monroe posted anything about speed. Just because you said, we will be sure not to “talk to Carrollton. Sandy Creek and Griffin about speed”. In actuality, I’m the first fan to post here, we working on a defense and a passing package, said nothing about speed.

Monroe comes a little more experienced than last year. Basically the same team, nearly every skill position remained. They have 22 seniors.

“Monroe seems to be doing this year what it was doing last year, clubbing baby seals”
Last year, MA comes back in the 4th to win by 4 against Stephens County. This year, 47-0 at the half.

One thing is for sure, all anyone has to do is say “Monroe Area ” and most of you got plenty of negative replies. Congratulations with that.

@PurpleLuv, didn’t mean any harm its just that speed is one thing Carrollton takes prides in . We are just happy this year to have size to go with the speed. Good luck on the rest of your season and hope to see you guys sometime in the playoffs.
