TRIVIA

Four Georgia schools have won region titles each season since 2008. Which schools are they? (Answer Monday)

Answer to Thursday’s question: The six schools that have won football and boys basketball state championships in the same academic year are Lanier of Macon (1947-48), Roswell (1970-71), Southwest Atlanta (1973-74), Clinch County (1988-89), Mitchell-Baker (1989-90) and Norcross (2012-13).

COACH SPEAK

“Direction, not intention, determines destination.” (Andy Stanley)

- Johnson (Gainesville) coach Jason Roquemore

GHSF Daily asked coaches during the offseason if they have a favorite quote, saying or motto. We’ll run a different one each day. Coaches are invited to add to our list.

”Andy Stanley now coaches football?”

No, but perhaps he should. :) Coaches were asked to give their favorite quotes, and apparently Coach Roquemore likes Andy.

Camden and Lowndes put up nearly 100 points each a couple of weeks ago. I’m pretty sure that is padding these numbers? By that, I mean it shows the quality of the opponent. Strength of schedule should really be a factor here (in order to take it seriously.) Just my opinion.

@AJC…………Your Trivia Question:

Did’nt the Tucker Tigers win both the 4-AAAA HS 2008 Football Sate Championship as well as the 2008 4-AAAA State basketball Championship?

I seem to recall that they didnt have facilities to practice football and used a baseball field as well as the middle school field when they won their 1st State football championship because their school was under construction and the old gymnasium was torn down; thus the reason why basketball was practiced outdoors and at the middle school in the same year. Please respond.
