Softball: Week 8 rankings

Archer ascended to No. 1 in Class AAAAAA after not losing a game to a classification opponent since Sept. 9. An upset loss to Marist a week after a blowout defeat to Buford dropped Lassiter out of the top spot.

North Paulding entered the Class AAAAA rankings after taking eight of its last 10 games.

In Class AAAA, Madison County took the top spot as the Red Raiders have not lost to a team from their classification all season. Northwest Whitfield dropped from No. 1 to No. 3 after dropping two recent games to Heritage-Catoosa.

Classes AA and AAA saw minor changes while in Class A, there was quite a bit of upheaval. Pace Academy and Eagle’s Landing Christian inserted themselves into the top five with long winning streaks versus Class A competition while Georgia Military rose to No. 2 after not losing a Class A game since the season-opener. Glascock County and Baconton Charter debuted in the rankings after long runs of success.

How can Woodland High School drop out of the top 10 in AAAA softball rankings but move up in Max
Preps and other rankings. This week Woodland High School beat Luella by a score of 11-0 in a run rule which is more runs than any other team even scored on them this year. Woodland also beat your 7th ranked team in AAAAA Union Grove 8 to 7. During this season Woodland also defeated Ringgold (#2 ranked in AAA) in a 10 to 2 run rule. The only loses Woodland has had this year are to teams ranked in the top 5 of your polls Gordon Lee, Elca, Locust Grove, Northwest Whitfield, Alatoona, and Kennesaw Mountain. Please explain your reasoning??????
