Nice stories believe me but Towers and Decatur are still pretenders and not contenders.

Decatur was decent, but they hadn’t come up against a solid defense like they did tonight. Looking forward to Towers next week. Go Saints!

Snoopy Tell about your QB. He goes to Buford and his little brother goes to a Hall county school. What a difference mom and dad make in children. We will all go to another state to get our ball players next year. Be real men and keep your players in your area.

Classless post by Snoopy, I’m sure the Buford community is embarrassed. Still more games to play. “rudeness is a sign of weakness” – unknown

I have watched and admired the Buford program for many years. I wish they played one classification up……it would be nice to see them against powerhouses like Carrollton, Sandy Creek and Marist year after year. That would make for some interesting and fun football I’m sure.

Good luck to all.

Hey corrupt man –

“Rudeness …. weakness”???? What’s that about?? Your program??

No weakness in Buford… Anywhere… Nor is there any “weakness” 6 miles south of Buford (North Gwinnett for the directionally challenged)…. The top 2 programs in the State…

Truth – I believe Buford is playing AAAA next season.. As for playing “up”. They have only destroyed Gainesville (defending AAAAA champion) 4 of the past 5 seasons. NO one else has the gnads to play Buford nor wants to schedule the Wolves…

Mountain Man just who is your team? Whoever it is you would need to find some good ones if you want to beat Buford. You can’t find them in Tenn, SC, Alabama, NC and certainly not Kentucky so where would you find them ?
Yes probably in FLA but if you live in N. Ga it is too cold for them up there. I am not a Buford fan but they are the best team in AAA and AAAA right now.

I don’t have a son in football. I meet a man at Saint Simon Ga. His son is a coach At Buford. He told me they have a boy on their team they brought from Texas and a their QB that lives in hall county that does not pay school taxes in Gwinnett. But he plays for Buford. But yet the QB parents younger son goes to school in hall.

Everyone thought BT had a slow start, but when Lovett beat St. Pius and Marist after BT, then everybody forgot that BT’s 14-3 loss wasn’t all that bad, it was a close game. BT is now the best team in the Region over St. Pius. They will rule the roost for years to come. Towers, nice story, but ain’t ready for prime time just yet. Woodward has some good players but it takes a team to win championships. Buford is still the team to beat in AAA. Although it gets tiring, everybody knows the real deal. They recruit big time. Ain’t no way Buford wins with their home grown kids. If that were the case, their other sports would be solid as it would be a reflection of the athletic talent in the area. They have a couple other good sports but they don’t even finish in the Top 5 or even 10 sometimes for the Director’s Cup.

@BT Now I will say that WA is a young team and they have a 9th grade class that will be one to reckon with the next 3 years. Should be wars between WA, BT, SPX, and CG for years to come.

@glenwoodpark Sellers was hurt his sophomore year. He had a good junior season and Everyone knew he was a baller, but CG didn’t run the ball they put it strictly in the air. For all the talk about Jonathan McCrary, I’m sure he’s missed this year by CG. Good luck getting past Towers and the private school teams. You’ll need it.

@Stringer Bell – BT is a young team too. They replaced 17 starters this year and only have 4 Seniors. Woodward and St. Pius will challenge, but I feel confident this Region now belongs to BT. I believe there are no such things as “excuses” as when you start making excuses for why you are not winning, you’re a loser. We have the best coach in the state – Tim McFarlin and we do things right year in and year out, and when you do that, you win year in and year out. When you have the right system, it addresses the imbalances between talent years. We have a Junior Program that is now second to none and is running the tables. Cedar Grove will never be a real challenge to BT or SPX – they have more athletic talent than they know what to do with each year and it shows, but they never deliver as a team. That has always been the issue at CG. And I am not sure Woodward will ever really challenge BT or SPX anymore than once in a blue moon. Woodward can bring in some talent here and there but as a team I don’t see you guys delivering. Good Luck though!

@Mountain Man if you have something call GHSA and report it but I think or I feel pretty sure that unless you are making some money off a program they will not investigate. Look at Stephenson with the running back from Tucker. They don’t care down there about rule at GHSA.
@ BT you have never beat Buford when yall were AA what makes you think you can beat them in AAA? Gezz win your region before you boast. When your Coach Gadget throws a pass with a kid who has not thrown a pass all year on a fake FG in the closing seconds of a playoff game its no wonder you lost.
Oh yeah Sellers is a star no doubt he will need blocking as they he runs the private school mine field.

Wow, I must give BT a lot of credit. BT was the toughest team the Cvllle Canes played last year when we won because of risky fake fg play that failed. BT was tougher than Buford and Thomson.

BT was good last year. SPX played all three. My pick would be
Buford
Thomson

Watching the Falcons game tonight, they show the best high school team in the state…

The Buford Wolves!!!

Let the haters hate, but it’s a FACT JACK!!!

Mountain boy – You were the star in Deliverance…

The QB for Buford is Brian Van Gorder’s son.. He’s stayed in the Buford area with his mom..
There are MANY former NFL’ers that have their children at Buford because their facilities & coaching are second to NONE!!!
Besides BVG, Scott Case, Jeff Merrow, Tom Cable, Tom Pridemore, just to name a few..
I am done with the haters on here…

In December there will be a 6th state champion in the past 7 years, celebration in Buford!!
Many of you are wishing for your first… But have not the talent to man up.. & If you have anything of substance to prove, take it to the GHSAA or STFU!!! To run your mouth (or keyboard) crying that any team is cheating & have no evidence proves you are a LOSER!!!

Thomson is having a very bad year 1-3 and they were losing to Burke when the game was called. Now they have to face GAC don’t think they will be in the game by halftime. So really they are 1-5. Thomson is a non factor this year.

BT has a championship caliber defense. They have 3 shutouts (including scrimmage Cambridge), they really only allowed 12 pts against Hart Co. who is the real deal (they scored off of 2 pick sixes), and Lovett scored on a punt return and then got the ball inside the 20, was stopped but got a pass interference call, and then scored the next play. They held White Co., an option team, to only 123yds. The BT D is the real deal
