now that’s what I call that extra motivational material that’s needed to fire an already fired up team up an extra notch. Lowndes is a 19 point underdog? I just love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@yo the game will be a lot closer than that 19pts. I think the 19pts margin of victory stems from the newton loss at martin field….r1 players n fans know its gonna be a dog fight

@ yo-We’ll be ready. Pittman is the only one on the injured list and the boys are hungry. That hideous schedule Propst has them on in regular season play is for a reason..

Region 5AAAAA is VERY tight now and until beaten Allatoona is the # 1 contender for the REGION title right now.

SOUTH PAULDING is the mystery at this stage…YES they are lighting up the scoreboard BUT their test comes this week as they host ALLATOONA, SOUTH PAULDING has it’s 3 / o record against 1 / 2 ROME, 3 / 1 VILLA RICA & WOODLAND / BARTOW at 0 / 4 BUT look further and the 3 / 1 record for VILLA RICA is against WOODLAND / BARTOW,& HIRAM both of who are winless and PAULDING COUNTY who is 1 / 4…SO what does this show…?????
I think it is early still and this weekend should clear it up a bit, as again SOUTH PAULDING host ALLATOONA and EAST PAULDING is playing at VILLA RICA…additionally ROME is playing at NEW MANCHESTER and NORTH PAULDING will host WOODLAND / BARTOW…

“THE CANNON RULES” take on this week’s games is as follows:

Maxwell Ratings: Projected margin of victories for Week 6 games

Allatoona vs. South Paulding -11
East Paulding at Villa Rica -12
North Paulding vs. Woodland, Cartersville -25
Rome at New Manchester 0
Paulding Co. at Lithia Springs -11
(Hiram has an off week)

That will have the REGION 5AAAAA looking like this:
# 1—ALLATOONA 5 / 0
# 3—NORTH PAULDING 4 / 1* they are 3 because they beat EAST
# 6—VILLA RICA 3 / 2
# 7—ROME 1 / 3

As bad as I hate to say it, I am not sold on the Vikes just yet. Weak schedule and the loss to Newton has me worried. A win over Colquitt or even a close loss would make me feel better about where we stand as a team. Colquitt will be motivated as well after all the crap stirred up last year. Just don’t know, home field may give us a slight advantage. I haven’t felt this uneasy about a season in along time. So many questions swirling around the program, seems somewhat unsettled.

Once again I think Lovejoy is being given too much love. This is not the same team. They will win I think but I also think too much is expected of them. I feel they are a contender and that they can hold their own with anyone.

Some teams lost more than we did and it shows. We lost 16 starters and are still hanging in there with young players. That is encouraging.

All I’m saying is 19 points underdog is very good motivational bulletin board material for the Vikes. As for Colquit? This game means more to Probst than winning a state championship. To quote him, “I have never prepared for a game as much as I have this one”.

How good are the Vikes? A lot better than showed against Newton.
How good? Find out Friday night under the lights at Martin Stadium.
The place is going to be rockin!!!

How do our opponents compare to Colquitt’s this year? Grayson? Not much of a comparison, even with Grayson having a bad record. All I am saying is don’t prod a rattlesnake.Colquitt has made it deep in the playoffs for a reason the last few years. The fiasco last year gave them plenty of motivation for this game without it being brought up constantly by some of our fans. Don’t you think?

I hope Wheeler stomps Milton just so High SchoolFootball up there can eat his classless smack talk.

@twohornenos Probst doesn’t need motivation for Lowndes since Lowndes is the one team that has owned him since he came to Georgia. He knows it and it eats at him.

As a complete outsider, I would guess this is the year that Probst gets some payback. Lowndes appears to be very weak this year, and tonight’s game will tell us exactly how weak, if at all.

W00t! Plenty of exciting football on Friday night in Georgia.

@Shiloh Fan – It turned out to be an understatement. And to think we were playing a freshman backup QB.
