Buford has ended three of the longest non-shutout streaks in the state over the past three seasons with victories in 2011 over Greater Atlanta Christian (98 games without a shutout) and Jefferson County (100) and in 2012 over North Oconee (97). Answer to Monday’s question: The Georgia football player who had the fastest time in the 100 meters at the Georgia high school state track meet in Jefferson last spring was Creekside’s Evan Berry, the Class AAAAA champion at 10.95 seconds. Other Georgia football players this fall who won state titles in the 100 meters are George Walton Academy RB Stanley Williams (A), Greater Atlanta Christian DB Darius Slayton (AA), Sonoraville RB Andrew Slaton (AAA) and Marietta RB Kirvonte Benson (AAAAAA).
